Plant Makeup

Founded by artist, musician, and creative individual Jes, Plant Makeup products use local or organic ingredients, are 100% non-GMO, cruelty-free, palm oil-free, and sustainably sourced.

Before building Plant Makeup, Jes discovered her passion for plants and she started blending herbal teas. Eventually, these turn into makeup, skincare, haircare, and vegan and cruelty-free fragrances.

“We only want the best in each of these creations so they vibrate with as much vitality as they were first gathered from the earth.”

The brand offers a wide range of products: foundation creams, powders, and eye products such as eye shadows, and mascaras, and lip products. All of these contain plant-derived ingredients. No minerals nano-particles, palm oil, synthetics, or preservatives.

All products are cruelty-free and most are vegan, however, some products contain USA-sourced beeswax or honey. Before purchasing, do your research first or check the label.

Packaging comes in glass pots and compostable cardboard tubes. The labels are designs Jes draws herself!

Nudi Goods

While working on a marine mammal research voyage, Jaime Boddorff started making Nudi Goods’ products. Until now, she is still very hands-on on production, only hiring extra help in busy seasons.

Jaime is very particular with ingredient sourcing, where as much as possible, she chooses local, and if not, ethical outsourced suppliers.

For example, their Mica and mineral pigments come from “suppliers providing a child-labor-free guarantee”. On the other hand, their beeswax, while not strictly vegan, comes from a very reliable source:

“We want to know where our ingredients are coming from, and many vegan alternatives are tropical plant products that come from a large supply chain where we cannot trace who is sourcing of the ingredients.

This means we don’t know if laborers are paid fairly, if the sourcing is ethical, if the sourcing displaces animals in the wild or causes deforestation, among other concerns.

Since our beeswax is currently sourced plastic-free and closes the waste loophole, switching to an alternative that is shipped in large plastic bags or buckets would mean moving backwards.”

Nudi Goods make a wide range of eco-friendly makeup, including lip balms, mascara, highlighters, and brow taming wax. The packaging is either metal tins or compostable cardboard tubes.

Nudi’s ingredients (which commonly include bentonite clay, activated charcoal, coconut oil, shea butter, safflower oil, sweet almond oil, and sustainably sourced Mica) are 100% non-toxic, cruelty-free, and palm-oil free.
