Hair by Thomas Dunkin for Sebastian Professional

The Hair Look:

Thomas shares his styling tips to recreate Rachel McAdams’ red-hot, soft updo from the Morning Glory premiere in Berlin:

1.       For hair-raising root volume, begin by spraying Sebastian Professional Volupt Spray to the roots of the hair and brush it through the ends with a Mason Pearson hairbrush.

2.       Use a round brush to smooth the hair and wrap 3” sections in small Velcro rollers. Hold each section vertically away from the head for maximum lift at the roots.

3.       Once the whole head has been set and allowed to cool, take each section out and backcomb heavily at the roots leaving the rest of the hair straight. Lightly spray Sebastian Professional Shaper Zero Gravity hairspray into the backcombed sections.

4.       Brush the sides of the hair back and twist the sides and back section into a classic French twist.

5.       Exaggerate the height on top and leave the fringe that doesn’t reach to the back section to gently sweep across the front of the face.

6.       To slightly mess the look to give it a more disheveled, modern feel run your hands through the hair.

7.       To add beautiful sheen without losing any volume, finish the look using Sebastian Professional Trilliant.

New! Estee Lauder in Wild Storm

I adore this color, besides being the most amazing  shade of slate  it’s really easy to apply. I usually make a huge mess when I’m painting my nails but the combo of the brush and cap made it super easy to apply without coating my entire fingertip.

I am on my 3rd day and my polish still looks amazing which is near miraculous since I am either typing or washing something or someone. A polish that looks amazing and lasts, LOVE IT!

Estee Lauder Pure Color Nail Lacquer

A luxurious new brilliance at your fingertips. Rich, glossy, quick-drying and long-wearing. Truly intense color is so shiny it looks wet–but don’t be fooled. Resists chipping, even in water. Won’t fade, dull or streak, even in strong sunlight. Specially designed brush shape makes application incredibly easy. Just three strokes of color–middle, left and right–and you’re done. Even the bottle is striking.

Katie Holmes graces the cover of Elle Magazine, looks stunning!

Katie Holmes looks gorgeous in February’s Elle Magazine. In the magazine she opens up about her upcoming role as Jackie Kennedy.

On preparing for her role by reviewing old footage of the Kennedys, with the help of her husband, Tom Cruise: “[Tom] watched everything with me; he found it fascinating.”

On working hard to perfect her role as the former first lady: “I worked as hard as I could, because I loved her. On set there was this feeling that we had to create something very special, because these people were very special.”

On playing such a complex role: “[The Kennedys] were like movie stars. There was such a professionalism to their public image.”

On admiring Jackie Kennedy’s strength: “I didn’t realize that she had lost a child in August and then [Jack] was assassinated in November. I couldn’t believe it. She had so much strength….I loved her love of family, how important it was for her to be a good mother.”

On the design process: “I have such an appreciation for the fine details and the amount of work it takes. I really appreciate clothing and designers so much more. It’s made shopping even better.”

On Suri’s shopping style: “The other day we came out of a store, and she said, ‘I want to go there,’ pointing at another store quite a distance away. In that store was the dress that she wanted. I said, ‘Wow, Suri. You’re something. You picked that out from a football field away.’”

On getting fashion advice from Suri: “She’ll really tell me [what she thinks]. Like today I’m wearing brown suede pants, and she said, ‘I don’t like your pants.’ But then she’ll say, ‘You’ve got to wear these shoes.’ Or ‘That’s so pretty, Mom. Wear that.’ She’s got a great eye.”

On decorating: “I like to create a nice table. I love roses and orchids and French tulips and berries, and then a lot of things that are just pretty and I have no idea what their names are.”

On not letting the attention from the paparazzi get to her: “I don’t worry so much. It is what it is, and it’s fine. I’ll go somewhere because I need to get something done.” and follow
