Get the Look: Selena Gomez’s Faux Bob

At last night’s Hollywood viewing party, this stunning starlet complemented her vintage gown with a gorgeous, faux bob. TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist John D., who created the look, said that he “wanted to create a retro bob for Selena, inspired by the glamorous actresses of days gone by.”

Step 1: Starting with hair around the face from ear to ear, take 1-2 inch sections and curl with a medium barrel curling iron, spraying each section with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray to aid in protecting hair from excess heat

Step 2: After curling each section, secure on top of head with a bobby pin or clip, to allow the curls to set

Step 3: Continue to curl and set the back section until all the hair is curled

Step 4: Spritz the set with TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray and allow the curls to cool

Step 5: Begin removing bobby pins and clips starting with the back section, working forward

Step 6: After gently back brushing the hair, tuck the hair under to desired bob length and secure with bobby pins

Step 7: Complete the style with a spritz of TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Finishing Spray to help add shine and keep the look in place

Get the Look: Rose Byrne’s Red Carpet Hair

Rose Byrne’s black, backless Vivienne Westwood gown was complimented by a sleek, stylish bob. Her stylist, John Frieda International Creative Consultant Harry Josh, wanted to keep the hair simple, clean and chic. “We wanted it to be all about shine and a high-gloss finish,” says Josh.

Please see below for Harry’s tips on how to get the look:

Full Repair Style Revival ($8.99)

Step 1 – Protect and Prep
According to Harry, it’s all about product. With a look like this you need the right base to achieve the high-gloss finish. On wet hair, Harry applied the NEW John Frieda Full Repair Style Revival. This heat activated spray not only protects hair from damage caused by heat tools, but also helps to ensure the final look is sleek and straight, without weighing hair down

Step 2 – Seal in the Style
After blow drying hair with a round brush, Harry flat ironed Rose’s hair section by section in order to lock in shine and keep her strands sleek and straight. Harry stayed south of her roots to ensure she had a little volume and then gave her a side part.

Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer ($9.99)

Step 3 – Polish and Perfect
To ensure no hair was out of place, Harry touched up stray strands with the John Frieda Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer. By simply swiping the mascara-like wand over her bangs and her crown, Harry gave her a red-carpet ready, perfectly shiny finish.
