Marc Jacobs new fragrance ‘Dot’ smells like coconut water and dragon fruit!

I want to smell this so bad! Just the description sounds amazing!

Marc Jacobs, the genius behind my favorite perfume (Lola) is launching a new fragrance! In July of this year, he’ll debut his new perfume, Dot.

I’m in love with the adorable lady-bug themed bottle!

Dot will be the third major scent for Jacobs, who launched Daisy in 2007 and Lola in 2009.

Dot’s dot-bedecked bottle is supposed to evoke a “ladybug with butterflies alighting on it,” which makes us think it’s going to be a super-sweet scent. For those of you who speak Fragrance, Dot has top notes of red berries, dragon fruit and honeysuckle; a heart of jasmine, coconut water and orange blossom and a drydown of vanilla, driftwood and musk.

Coconut water? Like Zico?

Ads for Dot will predictably star an ultra-young model. This time it’s 19-year-old Codie Young, whom you might remember from the Topshop “size zero” controversy fame.

Cannot wait to try it!!

NEW CONTEST!!! Winner picks either a $50 Fandango or $50 Sephora gift card!

Make Her Up has changed the way comments work. From now on – your comments will show up in a Facebook window. Two reasons for doing this. One – I can’t even begin to tell you the kind of spam I was getting in my comments. It added a whole other dimension to blogging, and was a major pain in my arse.  This eliminates the spam problem – entirely.

Second – it gives Make Her Up a much better community feel – which we’re all about! We’ll be able to moderate and view the comments much easier now, which means more interaction from Erin and I!

If you are shy about commenting now – maybe this will wet your whistle. I’m giving away either a $50 Fandango gift card or a $50 Sephora gift card (winner picks) – just for the heck of it!

All you have to do – is leave a comment below that says “I want Make Her Up’s $50 Fandango gift card!” There will be (1) winner – and I’ll run this for…. say a week.

Since I also run ICYDK – I’m going to post the same contest on that site. For an extra chance to win – you can enter on both sites! Go here!

Comment away!

Renee Zellweger vs. Victoria Beckham: Who has the hotter Harper’s Bazaar cover?

I’m just gonna say it. What the heck is up with Renee’s face? Has her nose always looked like that? Maybe it’s the angle? Maybe the photoshop? Whatever it is – I’m not feeling her cover on Harper’s Bazaar Russia. (PS: Where has she been!? No movie in ages!)

And below we have Victoria Beckham’s Harper’s Bazaar China cover. Wow.

It’s a toss up – I sort of think they’re both a hot mess!

PS: Make Her Up has changed the way comments work. I’m sure you’ve noticed. Sorry if you hate it – but it was time for a change! Comments now appear on Facebook – which is better for everyone! The amount of spam we were getting was mind-boggling. This way – there is no more spamming, and we can reply much easier to your comments! So comment away!!

Rhianna’s Short Film and Cover Shoot for Elle Magazine’s May 2012 Issue.

Rihanna: Forever Strong
The Barbadian beauty opens up about finding love, having children, and how the incident with Chris Brown was her “liberation”

On her breakup with Chris Brown:
“It gave me guns. I was like, well, fuck. They know more about me than I want them to know. It’s embarrassing. But that was my opening. That was my liberation, my moment of bring it. […] Now you know that, so you can say what you want about it. I don’t have anything to hide.”

On the backlash over their reconciliation:
“The bottom line is that everyone thinks differently. It’s very hard for me to accept, but I get it. People end up wasting their time on the blogs or whatever, ranting away, and that’s all right. Because tomorrow I’m still going to be the same person. I’m still going to do what I want to do.”

On having kids:
“It could be tomorrow. It could be 20 years from now. I just feel like when the time is right, God will send me a little angel. But first, of course, I have to find a man. I mean, there’s a very important missing piece to the puzzle here!”

On finding that man:
“I feel like it’s hard for everybody! I don’t think it has anything to do with being famous. There’s just a major drought out there. […] But I just need to find the person who balances me out, because then things like my schedule won’t matter. I’ve done it before, so I know I can do it again.”
