192861acf361534b77eaee5f86dd597d

New York Fashion Week is officially here! In case you can’t make it to NYC, Mary Kay Celeb Makeup Artist Luis Casco is on the scene at Lincoln Center scoping out the hottest beauty trends to share with you and your readers.

Inspired by sapphire smoky eyes seen around NYC, Luis created a soft, smoky doe-eyed look called Blue Smoke that’s perfect for special daytime events, but can be easily adapted for night.

Follow Luis’ tips below to get this Fashion Week look at home:

  • Start with an eye primer for serious lasting power.
  • Sweep a shimmery champagne eye shadow onto lids as a base and across brow bone to highlight.

Using Limited Edition Mary Kay® Midnight Jewels Eye Color Palette in Sapphire Noir:

  • Smudge the darker blue shadow along upper lash line and outer third of lower lash line.
  • Apply the lighter blue shade from lash line to crease and blend upward to create a rounded shape.
  • To really get that doe-eyed look, curl eyelashes before applying two coats of lengthening mascara to top and bottom lashes.

Focus on the eyes and keep the rest of the face simply glowing by lightly sweeping bronzer all over the face and applying sheer peachy blush on the apples of the cheeks.

Apply a nude lipstick like Limited Edition Mary Kay® Midnight Jewels Semi-Matte Lipstick in Pink Moonstone. Keep the look fresh with Mary Kay® Makeup Finishing Spray by Skindinävia.

To take this Fashion Week chic look from day to night, use black gel eyeliner on your upper lids and add an extra coat of black mascara for some extra drama!

Zoya Fall 2014: ENTICE and IGNITE

zoya entice

Zoya Entice Collection

All the swatches are taken with one coat of polish. So you can see just how great these colors look even with a single coat.

zoya veronica 2

Veronica- a deep reddened-berry colored creme. Love the berry red shade for fall.

Zoya Ryan

Ryan -  a dark navy blue creme.  A very dark blue navy, I love how dark it is but it still is obviously a blue shade not black.

zoya genevie

Geneviev – A very gray blue shade with a tiny hint of shimmer. I love this shade on, such a beautiful color.

zoya margo

Margo –  A  purple creme with red undertones. Love this as a mani and pedi color.

zoya claire

Claire – A very sexy burgundy creme.  Made for Fall and the perfect va va voom shade for date night!

zoya Nyssa

Nyssa – The looked of milk chocolate. I never thought I would like brown nail polish, but Nyssa is such a beautiful and wearable Fall shade.

I really love the Entice Collection, the bright vibrant colors are perfect for fall. And I love that they look great with one coat or two. And they are very fade and chip resistant.

zoya ignite

Zoya Ignite Collection

zoya autumn

Autumn – The epitome of fall this metallic orange shade with golden shimmer has me ready to hang my Fall wreath. Much more wearable than I expected but it was my lease favorite of the two collections. I think this color would be gorgeous on warm skin tones.

zoya yuna

Yuna –  A soft gray with specks of gold and a faint green shimmer. I love this shade, the gray color is simply beautiful.

zoya teigen

Teigen – A sparkly red raspberry with gold and red shimmer. One coat of this is pretty, two coats and I am in love. I painted my nails and gave my niece a mani/pedi with Teigen I love it so much.  Great for now and would be beautiful for Christmas and Valentines.

zoya india

India – Another showstopper this deep burgundy shade has red and gold shimmer that really makes it shine.

zoya remy

Remy – Even Ariel would trade her fins for this shade. A gorgeous ocean blue green with blue and gold shimmer. The more I look at this color the more I love it.

Zoya Sansa

Sansa – One of my favorites at first look. A gorgeous deep purple with gold and purple shimmer this color is my new go to Fall shade.

The Ignite collection is one of my favorites in a very long time. The colors are all beautiful the hardest part is choosing what color to wear. I love that they have a shimmery glitter but are still easy to remove. And the very best part even on my stubborn nails this polish wears for days without fading or chipping. I’m not sure how Zoya does it but I’m hooked!

Zoya polishes can be purchased at www.zoya.com.  You can also keep up with Zoya on Instagram and Facebook and watch for the special deals they run!

Get The Look: Lucy Hale at the 2014 MTV VMA’s

2014 MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet

mark. Brand Ambassador Lucy Hale hosted the MTV VMA pre show last night. Check out how to get her makeup look from celebrity Makeup Artist Kelsey Deenihan. All mark. products are available on meetmark.com.

Face:
To start I applied La prairie Cellular creme platinum rare ultimate rejuvenating cream all over Lucy’s face followed by Armani luminous silk foundation in #6 for a flawless base. Next I set the base with mark. Great Finish Pressed Perfecting Powder in Light. After the face was set I applied mark. Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Amped Up. The darker slightly shimmer powder works great as a contour and adds subtle color to Lucy’s cheeks. I finished the cheeks with mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes to really catch the light and illuminate the cheek bones.

Eyes:
Lucy’s eye shadow is a mixture of shadows in the middle row of the mark. On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact. I used the darkest shade in the outer corners and went gradually lighter toward the inner eyes. Bringing a darker shadow to the outer corners elongates the eye giving them an almond shape. Underneath the eye I smudged the same darker shadow from the mark. compact (middle row far right) starting thicker on the outer corners and lightly blending inward toward the inner corners of the eyes. I added mark. No Place to Run Waterproof Eyeliner in Jet Set (black). To the top and bottom water lines. This is the best liner for the water lines Since its waterproof and won’t budge! I finished the eyes with a couple generous coats of mark. Lash Act Mascara in Blackest Black.

Lips:
With the eyes being the focus I added a simple neutral mauve gloss to Lucy’s lips. She’s wearing mark. Glossworks Longwear Lip Gloss in Roseland for the red carpet. With a quick change into an Oscar de la Renta dress to host MTVs preshow we changed Lucy’s lip to a bright magenta gloss by mark. She’s wearing mark. Glossworks in Tempest. The color mimics the colors on the dress as well as Her Brian Atwood pumps.

Get The Look: Katy Perry and Becky G. at the 2014 VMA’s

2014 MTV Video Music Awards - Backstage & Audience

So what did you think of Katy Perry and Riff Raff’s homage to Britney and Justin in the all denim outfits?

Katy Perry Beauty Look by Jake Bailey:
Katy Perry’s VMA look tonight was quintessential Katy. Bright red lips, black liquid liner and big lashes. I first prepped her skin and then matched her skin tone to COVERGIRL’s Ready, Set Gorgeous Foundation in Warm Beige and began by buffing a thin layer all over her face and neck using a flat tipped, soft bristled kabuki style brush for a seamless airbrushed effect. I highlighted her under eye area and cheekbones with Ready, Set, Gorgeous Concealer in light/medium.

I began her eye makeup by blending a warm brown shadow, Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Scorching Cocoa into the crease of her eyelids and a pearlescent white shadow Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Blazing White onto her eyelid and browbone for highlights. I also dusted some of that same pearlescent shadow onto the ridge of her cheekbones for an extra glow. I then created a sharp jet black cat eye using Bombshell Intensity Liner. I finished the eye look with several coats of Bombshell Volume Mascara.

I then sculpted her cheekbones using the darker shade from the COVERGIRL’s Clean Glow Blush compact and added warmth to the apples of her cheeks with the paler peachier shades in the compact.

I completed the look by lining her lips with LipPerfection Lip Liner in Hot and the matching LipPerfection Lip Color shade in Hot 305. I topped the lipstick with a coat of Flamed Out Shadow Pencil in Crystal Flame for a metallic sheen. Just before she left I dusted her with a touch of Ready, Set, Gorgeous Powder in light/medium to keep her looking fresh for the red carpet.

Becky G. Beauty Look by Sarah Uslan:
Becky G.I started with the COVERGIRL Ready, Set Gorgeous Concealer and Foundation, which has powder built-in to help fight shine. I used the concealer in a V shape under her eyes to give them a bit of a lift before putting the foundation over – adding to the flawless overall look of her skin. Then I used bronzing powder to contour her cheekbones and also on the forehead and neck area to warm her skin tone plus Classic Color Blush in Silk Roses on the apples of her cheeks. Then I set the whole look with powder.

To bring in the silver in the studs on her skirt, I used the creamy Bombshell Shine Shadow in Ice Queen. It has these reflective pigments so your eyes dazzle when the light hits your face. Then with the Flamed Out Shadow Pot in Molten Black, I created a V from the outside edge of the lash line and going into the crease and blending inward. For shadow, I used Eye Enhancers 4-Kit Shadows in Drama Eyes and blended that all in. To finish off the look, I used the Bombshell Intensity Liner to create a bigger-than-normal, 60′s-inspired cat eye and layered on thee coats of Clump Crusher Mascara on the top lashes and one coat on the bottom. You get a ton of volume, and you can layer it on without clumps – perfect for touch-ups throughout the night. I also used a little dab of the silver shadow on the inner corner of the eye for a pop of shimmery color there.

For lips, we wanted something with a great color payout and also lustrous vibrant shine for the carpet, so we went with Colorlicious Lip Gloss in Berrylicious. For a while, matte lips were a big trend but gloss is definitely having a moment and is back in a big way!
