Sally Hansen Special Effects for Summer

pearl crush

When I first applied this polish I wasn’t too sure about the formula. It was more gel like than usual polish and took a bit of practice to not get too heavy of an application. The end result of Pearl Crush is beautiful. The  iridescent gel like color is a great neutral look and the crushed pearl adds a bit of sparkle.

SALLY HANSEN INTRODUCES A NEW SPECIAL EFFECT: CREATE A RADIANT, IRIDESCENT LOOK WITH PEARL CRUSH™

This summer, it’s time to get cultured—with pearls, that is. Sally Hansen introduces Pearl Crush™; a collection of eight new Special Effect polishes that give nails an eye-catching, shimmery finish. Inspired by the season’s iridescent trend, the Pearl Crush™ polishes have a unique combination of pigments that interact with layers of large, faceted glitter particles. The resulting effect: a 3D crushed pearl look that plays off light, lending a lustrous, vibrant look to summer manicures. Choose a softer tone or go dark—either way; you’ll want to wear these precious “pearls” everywhere you go!

instaombre

I am kind of obsessed with Insta-Ombre. I thought it was just another sparkle polish but it really is a standout. And whether I choose to do two basic coats for the sparkle or the third tip coat for the ombre its a stunningly beautiful polish. And pretty easy to remove for a glitter polish.

Will definitely be adding more shades of this to my collection. The color I am wearing below is Layer on Lilac, love it!

CREATE A DAZZLING GRADATED LOOK WITH NEW SALLY HANSEN® INSTA-OMBRE™ NAIL COLOR

It’s official: Ombré is the look of the decade. From runways to red carpets, from highlights to home decor, a gradated wash of color is perpetually on trend. Now, Sally Hansen makes it easy to create a sparkling ombré manicure with new Insta-Ombre™ Special Effect.

big peel off

SALLY HANSEN INTRODUCES BIG PEELOFF BASE COAT

Everyone wants a manicure that looks perfect, resists smudges, and removes easily. Traditionally, it hasn’t always been easy to achieve those desired results. Now, however, Sally Hansen introduces a nail essentials to simplify and improve the at-home manicure regimen: Big Peel Off Base CoatTM .

For nail-art aficionados, glitter girls, and anyone else who lives for regular manicures, Big Peel Off Base Coat changes everything. Nail polish remover can be harsh on nails, leaving them dry and brittle—and therefore, prone to breakage. Hard-to-remove special effects such as glitters, textures, and shimmers can damage nails further by scraping the nail surface and can be a time consuming removal process.

That all changes with the introduction of Big Peel Off Base CoatTM. This fast, convenient easy base coat makes it easy to remove glitters and other special effect polishes in a single step. Just paint on the base coat, which quickly dries to a transparent finish. Apply nail polish as usual and enjoy the manicure. When it’s time for a change, simply peel off the polish in one fluid movement. No scrubbing, soaking, or fussing—just a clean, healthy-looking nail.

PRICE & AVAILABILITY: Sally Hansen’s new Big Peel Off Base CoatTM , SRP $5.99 each, will be available in June 2015 at chain drugstores and mass retailers nationwide.

Get The Look: Emma Stone in Revlon at the ‘Aloha’ Los Angeles Premiere

I can’t wait to see this!

GLOBAL REVLON BRAND AMBASSADOR EMMA STONE AT ‘ALOHA’ LOS ANGELES PREMIERE
REVLON Global Brand Ambassador Emma Stone attended the Los Angeles premiere for her new movie ‘Aloha’ on Wednesday, May 27th 2015. Inspired by Emma’s elegant pearl dress, Celebrity Makeup Artist, Rachel Goodwin created a soft, ethereal look enhanced by a subtle pink lip.

“I wanted Emma’s makeup look to have a very soft and luminous quality to it. I used all cream and taupe shades on her eyes, cheeks and lips to pick up the iridescence of the pearls in her dress.”

Goodwin used the following products for Emma’s red carpet look:

FACE:

  • Skin was prepped with REVLON Nearly Naked Makeup in Vanilla (SRP: $9.99) for a natural sheer base that allowed Emma’s freckles to come through.
  • Goodwin highlighted the cheekbones with REVLON PhotoReady Skinlights Face Illuminator in Pink Light (SRP: $12.99) to create a soft glow followed by REVLON Cream Blush in Charmed (SRP: $12.99) to warm Emma’s cheeks.

EYES:

  • To create depth, Goodwin started with REVLON ColorStay 16 Hour Eye Shadow Quad in Addictive (SRP: $7.99) and blended shades #2 and #3 across the lower lid and in the crease.
  • To continue to highlight the eye, the lightest pearl cream shade from REVLON Illuminance Crème Shadow in Skinlights (SRP: $6.99) was applied on the lids, brow bone, and inner corners to keep the look soft and ethereal.
  • To finish, lashes were curled with the REVLON Gold Series Titanium Coated Lash Curler (SRP: $9.99) and both the upper and lower lashes were brushed with two coats of REVLON Bold Lacquer Length & Volume Mascara in Black (SRP: $7.99).
  • Brows were defined and set with REVLON Brow Fantasy in Dark Blond (SRP: $7.50).

LIPS:

  • To complete the look, lips were outlined and filled with REVLON ColorStay Lip Liner in Natural (SRP: $7.99) and topped with one coat of REVLON Ultra HD Lip Lacquer in HD Smoky Topaz (SRP: $8.99) to create a slight shimmer.

Introducing Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection

INTRODUCING…. COURRÈGES ESTÉE LAUDER COLLECTION
Two innovative brands collaborate to create a “pop-timistic” limited edition makeup collection, featuring zero gravity shades that float on lips, eyes and face Cosmonauts, satellites, missiles to the moon. Unprecedented advancement and achievement underwrote the inaugural period of intergalactic exploration that came to be known as the Space Age of the early-1960s. When a culture of futurism subsequently consumed the era, there were two names firmly in the vanguard: Estée Lauder and André Courrèges. She, a beauty industry innovator whose “every woman can be beautiful” mantra was ahead of its time; he, a fashion force whose avant-garde aesthetic broke all the style rules by injecting an air of playfulness, movement, and egalitarianism into every one of his haute couture collections.

Visionaries both, their brands have now joined together to pioneer a new interpretation of color. Introducing Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection: a limited edition collection of zero-gravity shades that draws on a shared point of view on color, beauty and the resolution to never stop moving forward.

An American beauty and business icon, Estée dedicated her life to shaking up the beauty universe with her skincare formulation savvy and her three-minute makeup applications. Firmly established in the department stores of New York, she introduced her coveted lineup of high-performance products to the women of Paris in 1966 as the South-West of France-born Courrèges was making his French runway debut and opening his own Couture House in 1961.

Both arrived with a seismic bang.

An engineer by trade who logged time with legendary Spanish fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga, Courrèges presented a tailored offering of little dresses and groundbreaking tunic pantsuits in a palette of lunar white, figuratively wiping clean the fashion slate. His simple silhouettes, often reimagined with technologically-charged fabrication techniques—second-skin knits, and plasticine vinyls wrought with transparency—helped sell his revolution, both at home and abroad. His message: “Courrèges is tomorrow, begun today,” continues to guide the couture house that bears his name.

Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection is a 13-piece limited edition line that marries the floating-on-air feeling of an embellished Courrèges mini dress, and the punched-up precision of Estée Lauder’s progressive product design, seen through the Courrèges lens. The formulations were designed to be surprising in their lightness, in their sensorial delivery, their translucency, reflectivity, and in their pop-y palette. They are an invitation to have fun with color, texture and special effects while defying the confines of nostalgia by creating a look that is wholly of today.
