Drew Barrymore’s Flower Line Now Available for Purchase!

Photos: Donato Sardella

Drew Barrymore’s new affordable makeup line Flower has just hit shelves in WalMart and we can’t wait to try it! StyleList has taken a look at some of the items she’s offering and pulled them out just for you. Check out there Top 9 products here.

After a stint from 2004 to 2005 as a spokeswoman for Lancôme, Barrymore enlarged her role in beauty at Procter & Gamble Co.’s Cover Girl, where she’s been a face and co-creative director since 2007, and is now taking it a step further by launching Flower, a color cosmetics brand she co-owns with design and manufacturing firm Maesa Group that will enter 1,509 Wal-Mart doors in January.

With Flower, Maesa and Barrymore have committed to transforming the landscape of the beauty industry by offering what Scott Oshry, president, partner and board member at Maesa, described as “true luxury at mass. Once we identified this white space, we thought to ourselves, you know what, we should tackle this. We should build the best color cosmetics brand that we can,” he said.

Flower will be housed in four-foot sections and endcaps at Wal-Mart stores exclusively. It will be available online at walmart.com, too.

Flower will sell 181 stockkeeping units priced from $4.98 to $13.98, including 70 in the face category, 44 in eye, 51 in lip and 16 in nail. The face products contain a proprietary botanical-driven “soft focus complex” to amplify skin’s glow. Maesa emphasized that the formulas are custom-made at the same price as those used in luxury products, meaning the firm spends two to three times what a typical mass beauty marketer does on each product.

Tucker-Moss said Flower’s BB cream is a “true BB cream.” “It is not the new version, which is really a marketing twist. They are tinted moisturizers,” she said. “Ours is an actual treatment cream that addresses everything from blemishes to enlarged pores.” Talking about Powder Up, she continued, “Our loose powder is quadruple milled. Only one factory — ours — has the machine to physically do it. It’s only been at prestige. It’s never been seen at mass before.”

Barrymore elucidated that Ultimate Mascara is a modern take on Maybelline Dial-a-Lash, a favorite makeup product of hers from the Eighties that allowed users to adjust how much mascara they wanted to put on. Ultimate Mascara has three settings for the brush, so users can choose to enhance lashes’ length, thickness or curl — or all three. “If you are feeling thickening one day, just leave it [the brush] scrunched. If you just want lengthening, leave it long, but if you want that amazing, grab it, clump it, thicken it, brush-out quality, you move the wand around,” she said.

A bra-less Miley Cyrus covers Cosmopolitan, and talks about life post-Disney, and her fiance, Liam Hemsworth

Miley Cyrus used to be Disney’s little darling, when she played Hannah Montana for years. A new, edgier, Miley is emerging as she gets older, and the actress insists she was never squeaky clean to begin with. The 20-year-old posed for a series of racy pictures in the new Cosmopolitan.

In the interview, Miley opened up about growing up as a Disney star, and how she always tried to be herself, even if that meant shedding her clean image at an early age. “Some of the worst things that have happened in my career, like things getting leaked, have actually been what’s best for me, because people knew when I was on that show that I was really growing up. I never faked anything. I never played the Disney game of smiling and being a princess and then suddenly having a hard time, saying, “That isn’t who I really am.”’

Miley’s getting ready to make a music comback, but her main priority right now is her fiance, actor Liam Hemsworth. “Number one is my relationship with Liam,” she said. “That’s what I feel the most confident in because you never know; there’s so much hype behind my new record, but it could come out and, worst-case scenario, everyone f***ing hates it.”

Miley still can’t believe that she’s marrying Liam, because she often finds herself gawking over how hot he is. “I’ll literally look at him and be like “You are hot, dear god!”’ she said. “The other day, I turned on the pool heater and it was steaming, and he walked outside and took off his clothes and jumped in the pool. I was like, “I’m gonna faint – the hottest guy of my life is in a steaming pool. This looks like a Playgirl shoot.” So I took a photo and made it the background on my phone. My best friend grabbed my phone and was like, “Who’s that? He is so hot!” That’s my hubby!’”

Miley’s new album sees her collaborating with a surprising array of artists, including Mary J Blige, and the star focuses so much on her individuality that she feels there is ‘room for everybody’ in the music industry.

Katy Perry’s been my friend for f***ing five years, and I’m not ever gonna let our work get between that relationship,’ she said.

‘If Katy sticks with being Katy, and Ke$ha is Ke$ha, and Rihanna is Rihanna, and I’m me, there’s room for everybody. The problem is when people look at Gaga and say, “Oh, that works; I’m going to be like that.”’

She added of her latest musical venture: ‘It’s almost like being a new artist and trying to make a first impression. I think the best thing I could have done was take those two years off to really live, because now people don’t think of me as who I was on the TV show.’

What’s your take on Miley? I don’t really love her – or hate her. I just think she’s sorta there. I can appreciate her honesty, and ability to shake things up, like shaving her head. I like her who-gives-a-s**t attitude. With celebrities these days, it’s nice to see someone who’s just going to do and say whatever they want, and don’t care much about what anyone thinks.

Victoria Beckham lands the March cover of Elle UK!

Victoria Beckham is the cover girl for Elle UK’s March issue. For the issue, Victoria modeled all Burberry, which kind of surprised me. I wonder why she didn’t wear her own line? Anyhoo, there isn’t much that’s been released from the issue, just a couple quotes.

On her employees:  “You’ve got to trust people. And because I am a control freak, sometimes that’s difficult for me, because I want to micro-manage absolutely everything. I can’t hand over. But I’m trying to do that more. It’s hard because I have such a specific vision.”

No one pays attention to her: “When I was on stage with the Spice Girls, I thought people were there to see the other four and not me. And when I go out with David and people take pictures I think, ‘They’re here to take David’s picture.’”

She has good worth ethic: “I don’t have to work, I need to work. But I have a good work ethic. David has an incredible work ethic. I want my kids to have a good work ethic. I believe you can achieve anything if you work hard enough to get it.”

Her clothing line has taken off like crazy, and she’s going really well for herself. I never thought I’d like her clothes, either, but as the years go by, I’m finding myself recognizing her pieces on celebs – and LOVING them. She has great taste, and I think it’s really cool she’s made a name for herself other than being a Spice Girl.

Is it just me, or does she look like she’s sucking her thumb in this picture below.

Get The Look: Sofia Vergara’s Perfect Purple Eyes at the 2013 SAG Awards

Sofia Vergara’s Screen Actors Guild Awards 2013 Look by Kayleen McAdams
Kayleen wanted to do something fresh and new on Sofia. Her white dress was a bare canvas for her face, and she was able to bring an element of color with a purple eye shadow. It was her first time trying a bright color shadow for an award show.

What do you think of Sofia’s Purple Eye Look?

Face:
I started by applying COVERGIRL Outlast Stay Fabulous 3-in-1 Foundation in Classic Tan (#860) all over Sofia’s face, and then used COVERGIRL + Olay Pressed Powder in Medium along her T-Zone to set the product so it would last all night. I then applied Cheekers Blush is Classic Pink to make her look bright and fresh.

Eyes:
With the eyes, I applied SmokyShadowBlast in Purple Plume all over the lid and then smudged Queen Collection Vivid Impact Eyeliner in Cabernet all along her top and bottom lashes. I finished the look with three coats of Very Black Clump Crusher by LashBlast Mascara. On the lips, I applied LipPerfection Lipliner in Beloved over the entire lip and then topped with the LipPerfection Jumbo Gloss Balm in Rose Twist to give a hint of glossy sheen.

The CoverGirl and Olay products used to create Sofia’s look are available to purchase at your local drugstore.
