Fashion designer Marc Jacobs - and makeup genius François Nars have teamed up in a beautiful way! In a friendship that has lasted several years, the two are collaborating in an amazing way!
First Marc called upon François to helm the makeup backstage at his fall 2009 show (and he has been doing so ever since); then François persuaded Marc to sit in front of his lens, and pose (fully made-up) for his book, 15X15. Now the twosome is getting together once again for a new collaboration: cool—and clever—boxed sets of fingerless cashmere Marc Jacobs gloves and NARS nail lacquers.
Available in black cashmere with black-gold polish or purple cashmere with smoky lavender polish, the sets marry a major accessories trend—fingerless gloves not only make texting easier but they carry the same cool factor as a pair of open-toed boots—with one of the season’s best beauty looks. Of the polishes, which Nars mixed exclusively for this project, he says, “they don’t match the gloves, but complement them.” Everyone can appreciate that.
Marc Jacobs Fingerless Glove and NARS nail polish sets, $52; available exclusively at Nars 413 Bleecker Street, New York, 646.459.2323.
I love it!

I lighten my hair to try to recapture the perfect blonde color of my youth, problem is my hair pulls red and my beautiful blonde is never far from brassy. I have been using the Philip Kingsley Pure Silver Shampoo and Conditioner to combat the dreaded brassy look. We all get tempted to squeeze a blemish to treat the problem, but with a risk of infection and scarring is there a better way? Heat treatments promise faster and safer blemish treatment, but how do they work?
Heat treatment devices attack a blemish to reduce the size and appearance in several ways. Heat works to increase blood circulation and promote healing. Heat therapy can also help bring an infected blemish to a head so that it can be drained. The concentrated heat helps kill the bacteria causing the blemish, and speed up the healing process while reducing inflammation.
For people with sensitive skin that find topical acne treatments too drying Heat Treatment devices can be a great way to battle acne. Here are a few popular treatment devices that use a heat and light technology to fight blemishes.

The first preventative acne-clearing system. By combining a topical acne treatment with a massaging heat the Zeno Heat Treat kills 99.9 percent of acne-causing bacteria in one hour.
ZENO HEAT TREAT Blemish Prevention Kit
HEAT TREAT Blemish Prevention Kit is a breakthrough in acne prevention. It combines the science of a medicated anti-acne solution and gentle massaging heat to kill acne bacteria, unclog pores and prevent new blemishes from forming. The Klima Magic Wand uses heat and light technology to fight blemishes. Along with a promise to be one of the fastest acne treatment devices it also has a permanent tip saving you money with no replacement tips needed.
Klima Magic Wand
The Klima Magic Wand is a hand-held, battery operated device which makes pimples disappear fast. Using twin technologies of gentle heat and specified blue wavelength light. When the bio-compatible tip has direct contact with a blemish on the skin, it transfers heat deep into the follicle at a safe and pre-set temperature. It also zaps the blemish with specified-wavelength blue light. Both the heat/shock response and the radiated light aggravate the active proteins that keep the blemish thriving. This causes self destruction of the acne lesion, reducing inflammation and allowing the skin to return to a healthy condition. How effective is it?

Rich people problems.
In Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest Goop Newsletter, the Oscar-winner opened up that she cannot do her own makeup, and shares tips with how to do your own makeup.
Believe it or not, I am terrible at doing my own makeup. I’m decent at doing it for a friend, but when it comes to my own face, I never get it right. I have been wanting a step by step lesson for ages so I asked my London makeup artist, Emma Lovell, to show me how. One of my gorgeous school mum friends from my son Mosey’s class agreed to be the model (thank you, Kate!), and I learned so much. I hope it’s helpful for some of you!
Love,
gp
She gives a really great tutorial for how to prep your skin before makeup, how to apply daytime makeup, and then how to transform that into evening makeup. Check out the tutorial here!

Madonna, with the help of her 15-year-old daughter Lourdes, successfully launched ‘Material Girl’, a clothing line for tweens and teens.
Now, the 53-year-old singer is looking to cash in on the older crowd. She and her partner, the Iconix Brand Group, are launching a new label called ‘Truth or Dare’. The new line will focus on an older audience, targeting women aged 27-50.
The ‘lifestyle brand’ is due to launch next year with a fragrance and accessories.
An image of the bottle was released today – a minimalist, hexagonal white bottle with gold cap and simple, geometric logo.
Shoes, handbags and lingerie are expected to follow.
Madonna said that she had been approached many times in the past to create her own brand, but only now was the timing right.
She told WWD: ‘Over the past several years, I have been approached countless times to create my own brand.
‘The timing is right and I have found great partners in Iconix, who can help translate my vision to reality.’
Neil Cole, CEO of Iconix Brand Group, said that the success of Material Girl and Madonna’s star power indicate huge consumer demand for a second line.
He said: ‘The interest and excitement globally for brands developed by Madonna are significant.
‘After the highly successful launch of the junior brand Material Girl, we knew there would be a tremendous demand for a brand that Madonna herself is the face of and that truly captures her essence.’

To this day – our post on men’s nail polish back in 2007 – is our most talked about, most controversial post we’ve done so far. (If you have a minute you should check out the post and just read any of the 300 comments in the thread. Some really interesting stuff!)
Here at MHU, we’ve known for quite some time that there is a HUGE need for men’s beauty products – and we even talked about starting a men’s beauty site (but c’mon, who has the time!).
Here we’re getting our first look at a line of men’s nail polish that will release this month! More from Glamour:
Men’s skincare and grooming brand EvolutionMan will introduce a line of nail polishes to its assortment this month. I’m pretty sure Jared Leto is going to be excited about it. And we know we’ve got Johnny Depp on board. Will your guy be down for a MAN-icure?
The line consists of two sheer nail varnishes and three opaque nail ‘paints’ that retail for $14 each. Matte finishes and colors that veer from “the traditional black, blue and white that can be found on many a man’s nail” define the new range, according to the brand.
A shiny purple shade called Alter Ego (above) probably qualifies as the most daring. Although Dave Navarro has been wearing purple nail polish for years so what do I know.
What do you think? Would your guy ever wear polish?
