Check out butter LONDON’s gorgeous new colors!

butter LONDON is thrilled to share the Autumn/Winter 2012 lacquer and LIPPY collections!

Sequins! Velvet! Satin! Tweed! This season, the catwalks were abundant with rich texture! The brand translated this to nails through the infusion of glitter particles and metallic and holographic finishes. The colour tones speak to “earthiness” but are not specifically earth tones – think rust, shimmering greens and silvers. This collection feels future-forward but not futuristic. This season is all about using texture to add interest and depth to your look!

These products will be available while supplies last through QVC.com, the QVC apps or by calling 800.345.1515

The polishes above are so freaking cute I can hardly stand it! I immediately put on “Brummie” the gorgeous Violet color below. I can’t wait to try out the rest!!

Get The Look: Rashida Jones and Beth Behrs.

“I Love You, Man” actress Rashida Jones and “Two Broke Girls” actress Beth Behrs made their marks at recent events: Rashida at the “Celeste and Jesse Forever” premiere last week in New York City and Beth at the recent Showtime TCA party. Celebrity Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg shared her tricks for creating both of these gorgeous looks!

Rashida Jones

Face & Cheeks:
“I started by buffing mark Min-A-Real Cream-to-Powder Foundation in Medium Dark onto Rashida’s face. Next, I dabbed mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Peachy all over, followed by mark Matte-Nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Medium Dark to reduce shine. Then, I applied mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in Cameo Glo to her cheeks and mark Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes All Over Face Palette all over her cheeks and cheek bones to create a gorgeous shimmer. I set the look by lightly dusting her face with mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Bronze.”

Eyes:
“I started by applying mark Mini Mark It Stick Hook up Stick for Eyes in Cocoa Bean onto Rashida’s lid, followed by the darker shades of mark On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact on her lids and the lighter shades into the crease. Next, I applied mark What A Line Felt Tip Eyeliner in Wee Hours and then Brownie Points on her upper lash lines, creating a cat-eye effect. I lightly lined her lower lash lines with mark Mini Mark It Stick Hook up Stick for Eyes in Cocoa Bean along with mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Foxy Brown. I finished Rashida’s eyes by applying mark Lash All You Want High-Volume Mascara in Black to her top and bottom lashes, concentrating on the upper outside lashes.”

Lips:
“I used mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Coral Fixation on Rashida’s lips.”

Beth Behrs

Face & Cheeks:
“I started by applying mark Get A Tint Tinted Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15 in Ivory Nude all over Beth’s face to create an even canvas. Next, I applied mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder in Pro Golden for a soft, healthy glow. Then, I combined a tiny bit of mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Berry and Spicy and applied lightly to her cheeks. I dabbed the tops of Beth’s cheeks with mark Good Glowing Custom Pick Powder Blush in Chica and patted down her T-zone with mark Matte-Nificent Oil-Absorbing Powder in Medium to get rid of any shine.”

Eyes:
“I started by applying mark Please Hold Eye Primer to create a strong canvas. Next, I dusted various light shades from mark On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact all over her lids. Then, I applied mark Mini Mark It Stick Hook up Stick for Eyes on her lower lash lines dabbed with the same light shades from mark On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact. I created a gorgeous cat-eye effect using mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Entourage and finished Beth’s eyes by applying mark Scanda-Lash Hook up Mascara in Blacklash onto her top and bottom lashes.”

Lips:
“I applied mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Cha Cha to Beth’s lips to create a stand-out smile.”

Skyy Hadley, owner of As U Wish Nail Spa, has some tips and tricks on ways you can root for team USA with DIY nail art techniques.

Gold medal winner Missy Franklin shared this picture of her patriotic mani/pedi with her twitter followers and I just LOVE it!
To create Missy’s American flags:
-choose a pure white polish and paint one or two nails on each hand so the flags stand out
-after brushing on two coats of white, create the red vertical stripes using a small design nail polish brush or a toothpick
-then apply a thick line of bold blue polish across the tip of the nail as you would for a French manicure
- dip a toothpick into the white, or silver, nail polish and draw little stars on the blue background
-finish with a fast dry clear top coat

How to get tennis pro Venus Williams’ chic look:
-using a red polish with a hint of shimmer adds an element of chic sophistication to this look
-after brushing on two coats of a shimmer red polish on all nails except one on each hand, dip a toothpick into gold polish and add small dots on top of each red nail
-to create the fashionable flag:
-brush two coats of gold polish along the base of the nail in a downward curve
-draw a line using white polish on a toothpick along the gold curve
-brush on two coats of red polish following the same downward curve
-paint the remaining tip with two coats of blue polish
-finish by drawing stars in white polish using a toothpick

For a simple and classic look like gold medalist Allison Schmitt:
-using shimmery red, white and blue polishes, paint each nail, or chosen nail, a different color
-have fun with this look and create any red, white and blue pattern you choose

AT HOME MANICURE TIPS:
· Always push back the cuticles but be sure not to cut them since cutting them can create hangnails and should be left for professionals only.
· When it’s time to paint your nails, roll the polish bottle in between your hands as your body heat will liquefy the polish a bit so it goes on smoother. Wipe the back of the brush against the neck of the bottle as you take it out so there’s just a drop of polish sitting on the front tip of the brush for the perfect brush stroke.
· Remember TOP COAT, TOP COAT, TOP COAT! It is so important to use a fast dry top coat on your nails and to let them dry naturally without dryers. This prevents the polish from chipping and helps it last longer. Extend the life of your manicure by adding a layer of top coat on day three.
