New! Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer

I love that Jergens chose Leslie Mann as a spokesperson not only is she beautiful but she is hilarious and a breath of fresh air to celeb marketing. After seeing her commercials for the new Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer I couldn’t wait to try it. Lucky for me I was able to get my hands on a sample of the Nourishing Monoi Oil scent.

First thing I noticed about this lotion was how beautiful the Monoi Oil smelled. Following the directions I hopped out of the shower and applied roughly a dime sized amount to each arm and a quarter sized amount to each leg. The lotion spread easily and absorbed quickly into my skin. I love how light it was and the scent is fantastic. After applying I just patted my skin dry and was on my way. I have found after just a few days use my skin is really soft and moisturized. Love how quick and easy this makes my morning routine, I will definitely be stocking up on other scents.

5 Ways to Turn that Pumpkin Into Beauty Products!!

It’s pumpkin season!! Pumpkins are EVERYWHERE! Do you like to eat pumpkins? I’m probably the only person in America who doesn’t. I don’t like pumpkin pie, and I don’t like pumpkin spice latte’s from Starbucks. I know I’m weird. I also don’t like avocado’s (I just use them for masks like THIS!). So sue me.

What I DO love is turning pumpkins into fabulous beauty products! I’m always trying to find ways to come up with clean, natural, organic beauty products/treatments I can do right at home. Why spend $50+ dollars in a salon for something you can put together at home – all by yourself! Put that pumpkin mask on and wear it with pride! At home…. in the privacy of your own four walls. :)

Here are 5 ways you can turn pumpkin into beauty products! Did you know pumpkins are loaded with vitamins A, K and C? They’re also full of zinc, copper, magnesium and potassium! These nutrients hydrate your skin, and stimulate hair growth! Beta-carotene is what gives pumpkin it’s gorgeous orange color, and it converts to vitamin A in the body – providing skin with another layer of protection from sun damage!

Pumpkin Face Mask: Dermatologist Dr. Ted Lain shares a simple facial mask recipe that could be used on all skin types. You’ll need: one cup of pumpkin, two tablespoons of brown sugar, one tablespoon of honey and a half cup of yogurt.

Spread on a thin coating with your fingertips or a facial pad. Leave on skin for 8-10 minutes. The brown sugar and yogurt are exfoliants that will slough away dead skin cells, while honey is a humectant that absorbs water from the air and naturally moisturizes skin. “This is an added benefit in the fall, when the air is dry and our skin needs the extra moisture,” said Dr. Lain.

Exfoliating Scrub:  (Full Body) Mix pureed pumpkin and brown sugar with oatmeal, and spread onto a loofah or cloth. Scrub into your skin in circular motions. The scrub stimulates lymph nodes and helps to drain toxins from your body.

Pumpkin Hair Mask:  If your hair is feeling dry – and needs a little extra lovin’ this fall – try this beautiful pumpkin hair mask!

  • 2 cups pumpkin (chopped and cooked)
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon yogurt

  1. In a food processor or blender, puree the pumpkin and yogurt.

  2. Next, add the coconut oil and honey, blending until the mixture is totally smooth.

  3. Apply the mixture to damp hair. Cover hair with a plastic cap, and let it sit for fifteen minutes.

  4. Wash out thoroughly using your everyday shampoo and conditioner, and style as usual.

Pumpkin Brown Sugar Body Scrub:

  • 1/2 cup real pumpkin (can be canned or fresh, but not pumpkin pie filling!)
  • 1 cup Imperial Sugar Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons safflower oil
  • 3-4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice (add more or less depending on preference)
  • Small, decorative 4 – 6 oz jar

  1. Puree pumpkin in a blender. In a small bowl, gently mix brown sugar, spices and pumpkin until smooth.

  2. Carefully scoop mixture into decorative jar.

  3. Pumpkin Brown Sugar Scrub can be used on the face, hands and body. Gently scrub for 2-3 minutes before washing off.

  4. Because all ingredients are natural and perishable, Pumpkin Brown Sugar Body Scrub should be used within 4-6 weeks.

  5. Refrigerate leftovers.

Pumpkin Pie Lip Balm:

Ingredients needed:

  • 2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
  • 1 teaspoon beeswax
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon pumpkin spice mix
  • Lip balm container

In a double boiler combine almond oil and beeswax until melted together. Remove from heat and stir in the honey and pumpkin pie spice. Once mixed, then carefully pour the mixture into a lip balm container. Let it harden and cool.
