Zooey Deschanel’s Beauty Secrets.

Zooey Deschanel moved from indie-film It girl and folk musician to mainstream TV star this year with her hit show The New Girl—but that doesn’t mean she’s put down her ukulele or quit being so gosh-darn quirky. Deschanel showed off her gorgeously offbeat side on our February cover, and told Allure all about her surprisingly balanced beauty regimen.

Her oh-so-pure skin treatment. “I use an organic cleansing oil by Laventine, and John Masters Organics makes a nice pomegranate [facial] oil as well.”

Her less-is-more makeup strategy. “I don’t wear a ton of makeup, but Rimmel has a really good liquid eyeliner.”

Her shiny hair secret. “Oribe shampoo and conditioner.”

How she stays healthy inside—and out. “I tried to be vegetarian while dealing with a lot of food allergies, and it was impossible. So I do eat meat, vegetables, and rice… very balanced.”

Nicole Scherzinger Tweets makeup-free picture!

33-year-old Nicole Scherzinger Tweeted this picture of herself posing in nothing but a couple towels.

She wrote  ’Uhh…Does anyone know how to work this twisty towel thing? Haha!’

Perhaps her flawless skin is down to the spa treatments she enjoyed during her time at Punta de Mita’s Imanta resort.

She treated fans to titbits from her break via Twitter, sharing pictures of whale watching, boat trips, and horse riding on the beach.

There’s no doubt she was in need of a getaway, as her first season as a judge on X Factor US left her drained and in doubt as to which cirection to take her career next.

In a revealing interview the star said she has not been able to release a new album because of her commitments as an X Factor judge, and that she wants to focus more on her day job as a performer.

The former Pussycat Doll told RadarOnline: ‘Next year for me, it’s about my music. This has been quite a learning experience, quite a journey for me.’

‘I didn’t expect to have been so emotional through the whole elimination process. I wanted to just mentor and empower artists.’

I didn’t watch X Factor when it was on, I’m sorta getting tired of competition shows. It’s just too much for me. Did you watch?

Axe Body Spray Launches Women’s Line Called Lynx – Will you buy?

The makers behind Axe Body spray is launching a line of fragrance for women.

The British brand has been around since 1985, and it’s ads showing beautiful women all over the men who wear Axe, are well known.

Over the years commercials showing nerds, unattractive, otherwise boring men, ending up with gorgeous model-type women. And all they had to do was use Axe body spray!!

While the ads drew criticism for their portrayal of women, you can’t argue the fact that they were successful! After almost thirty years of concentrating on men, the brand has decide to branch out into the female market.

The new fragrance, called ‘Lynx Attract’ in a “For Him” and “For Her” line will hit the shelves soon.

The launch will be accompanied by a typically racy advert – showing men and women causing chaos because they are so attracted to each other.

In previous ads, a campaign in 2004 showed how the scent gave a geeky man the confidence to dance and attract women.

This was followed by more provocative marketing – which suggested Lynx ‘turned nice girls naughty’.

Selina Sykes, Lynx Marketing Manager at Unilever UK, said: ‘This is a historic moment for Lynx as a brand.

‘For the first time in our 27 year history we are launching a male and female fragrance at the same time.’

Lynx claims ‘Attract For Him’ will drive the girls crazy with its sensual fruity and woody notes.

Meanwhile, the firm says: ‘Attract For Her perfectly complements the male scent and will drive the guys wild with its fruity, floral and woody fragrance.

‘A vibrant colourful mixture of succulent fruit creates an enticing fusion while floral notes leave a feminine accord.
‘Bottom notes of wood, musk and vanilla give the fragrance a sheer creaminess.’

The male version is described as ‘top notes of Pomegranate, apple and blueberry create a fresh scent while mid notes of violet, sage and lavender add a sharp crispness.’

My question is – would you try a Lynx body spray? Does your man use Axe? If so – what do you think about it?

Here are some promo pics from Lynx’s Facebook page.

Elle gets the scoop on Charlize Thereon’s beauty secret.

It takes confidence for any woman—even an ex-model equipped with indisputable leading-lady looks—to gain 30 pounds and modify herself with prosthetics to appear on 50-foot-high movie screens worldwide. But that’s just what actress Charlize Theron did to play Aileen Wuornos in 2003’s Oscar-winning Monster. “There’s no way I could have understood that character without having an emotional connection to her appearance,” Theron says. In her current project, Diablo Cody’s Young Adult, which hit theaters December 16, she plays a fiction writer with a penchant for alcohol and ex-boyfriends, and a nervous hair-pulling habit that leaves her with bald spots. Not exactly a glamorous role either, but Theron, 36, isn’t concerned with looking pretty. “My job is to be a blank canvas and embody the character that I’m playing.” Of course it helps that, off duty, said canvas is anything but blank; for seven years Theron has played herself in the très chic Dior J’Adore fragrance campaign—a role she feels connects her to every woman. “Perfume is a little piece of couture,” she says. “I love being a part of something that makes women feel sexy.”

Extensions are popular in Hollywood, but you’ve always worn your hair shorter. Why do you keep it that way?
I’ve never really had hair for myself. My style is always for playing a character, so I’m personally not superattached to any look. If I’m not working, I prefer something that’s easy to care for and doesn’t require a lot of styling—I’m not fussy! I try to be extra gentle on my hair since it endures a lot on set. My longtime stylist Enzo Angileri turned me on to hair oils for deep conditioning, so I’ll do a treatment when I have a little bit of free time.

What about your signature blond?
Even my color is usually in a state of whatever my next character is. For the Dior J’Adore campaigns, however, I always go superblond, which I love. It’s how I looked when the campaign started, and we’ve stayed loyal to it for the past seven years. It just feels right for J’Adore, which is all about glamour.

It’s been seven years? But you look exactly the same!
I’m a massive believer in sunblock. Massive. I wear sunblock in the winter, when it’s rainy and gray out—all the time. And not just SPF 15; I wear 50. Five-zero! It’s a huge part of my moisturizing routine.

Your dermatologists must be so proud.
The importance of sunscreen has been instilled in me from a very young age through my mom, who is aging so well. She’s helped me make peace with the little flaws I have. It’s really inspiring to watch her age gracefully.

How do you keep your skin HD-ready while traveling so much?
I play around with different moisturizers—I like to change up my skin care. Right now I love Dior L’Or de Vie, La Crème. It’s very hydrating. I also keep cleansing really simple. I’ve stuck with Cetaphil for years now; it’s very gentle.

What is your red-carpet approach?
I don’t think of myself as a trendsetter. I’ve always been more casual and effortless. I try to keep my red-carpet look classic. My makeup artist, Shane Paish, usually does some sort of smoky eye by lining my upper and lower lash line with waterproof liner and coating my lashes with tons of mascara. I’m lucky enough to have worked with the same crew who create a cohesive look with my hair, makeup, and styling.

In an iconic J’Adore TV commercial, you strut down a hallway while taking it all off—from jewelry to gown. Where does that confidence come from?
I’ve practiced yoga for many years, and it gives me energy and makes me feel really great. A few years ago, I also picked up cycling, which is better on my knees than running. I’ve learned you’re not ever going to have any real success unless you find something that you can really implement into your lifestyle and really love.

The South Africa native prefers soft, beige shades of lip color, favoring Dior Addict Lipstick in Miss Dior; Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser is Theron’s drugstore go-to; makeup artist and friend Shane Paish uses Dior Bronze Original Tan in Spicy Tan to warm up Theron’s fair complexion; a few spritzes of Dior J’Adore perfume “makes you feel like you’re wearing something expensive,” she says; her anti-aging secret: daily slatherings of La Roche-Posay Anthelios 50 Mineral Ultra Light Sunscreen Fluid SPF 50; Kérastase Reflection Bain Chroma Riche keeps Theron’s blond strands shiny; “I always have the great La Mer lip balm close by,” Theron says of her suitcase, purse, and clutch staple.
