Celebrity Weddings: Musical Marriages

Celebrity weddings; there’s a reason why magazines pay the big bucks to gain exclusive coverage to these events. Everything from the wedding breakfast menu to the bride’s choice of dress can provide an incredible insight into the kind of relationship the couple have.

Nothing quite captures the style of the couple more than the choice of song for the first dance. Whether you’re an A-lister or just an everyday member of society, everyone will assume that your wedding song represents your relationship, so it’s important to pick one that reflects you both as a couple!

It’s one of the most memorable parts of the entire day, so choosing can be tricky. You could check out some of the choices made by the celebs for inspiration if you’re grasping at straws for your own wedding.

‘At Last’ by Etta James is one of the most popular first dance songs across a whole spectrum of celebrities. Everyone from Gene Simmons & Shannon Tweed, to Chelsea Clinton & Marc Mezvinsky has chosen this romantic classic, meaning it’s going to be a sure-fire hit.

If you’re looking for a little more up market inspiration, take a lead out of Kate Middleton & Prince William’s book with ‘Your Song’ by Elton John. Likewise, other wealthy inspiration can come from Mark Zuckerberg & Priscilla Chan who had ‘Last Night on Earth’ by Green Day as their first dance number.

There are some songs you may was to skip if the length of marriage is anything to go for. ‘City by the Bay’ by Journey was the song of choice of Britney Spears & Kevin Federline, while Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries ironically chose ‘Let’s Stay Together’ by Al Green.

Some celebs actually chose to use their own songs as their first dance. Paul McCartney & Nancy Shevell danced to ‘My Valentine’ sang by the groom, while Beyoncé & Jay Z boogied to ‘Crazy in Love’ which was the pair’s first collaboration.

I saw a video posted on the Diamond Manufacturers Facebook page of Tom Fletcher, who turned a number of McFly songs into a wedding speech for a heart-warming and tear inducing thank you to his family, friends, and wife. It could’ve been cheesy, but luckily it was possibly one of the best speeches I’ve ever seen!

Diamond Manufacturers are actually a great company to check out if you’re still looking for inspiration. They recently recommended a list of 50 first dance songs that offered a great range of classic, traditional, and alternative pieces that is great to suit everyone and help you choose the perfect one.

FIRST PICTURE! Jessica Biel’s PINK wedding dress lands the cover of PEOPLE Mag

People Magazine paid Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel $300,000 for their wedding pictures, and here we’re getting a sneak peek at what the money bought them! The couple posed for this picture shortly after they were married on Friday in Italy. I think the cover is totally cute, and shows Justin’s total excitement. One thing I’m not sure about, though, is Jessica’s pink wedding dress (which is Giambattista Valli couture). Pink? Really?  Don’t you think it’s odd that the cover focuses more on Justin than on Jessica? You can hardly see her dress at all, and what you CAN see looks awfully 80′s. Is that the point?

Judging by their wedding photo, Justin Timberlake was more than ready to jump into his new life with Jessica Biel, springing airborne with joy.

When the couple of five years exchanged personal vows in a romantic Italian ceremony Oct. 19, “it was a really special evening,” Timberlake, 31, tells PEOPLE in this week’s cover story, in which the newlyweds open up for the first time about their special day and share exclusive photos.

“It was a total fantasy experience,” adds Biel, 30.

One cause for emotion? The singer-actor played the guitar and serenaded his beautiful bride-to-be as she walked down the aisle in a custom, petal pink Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown.

“It was an original piece I wrote specifically for the evening and for her,” says Timberlake, who wore a Tom Ford tux he helped design.

The pair welcomed 100 guests, including close friends Jimmy FallonAndy SambergTimbaland and Biel’s 7th Heaven costar Beverley Mitchell, to the Borgo Egnazia resort in southern Italy for a week-long wedding celebration.

“It was a lot to ask of them to travel, so we figured we’d give our guests a good party!” says Timberlake.

First look at Matthew McConaughey and Camila Alves’ wedding photo!

Matthew McConaughey, 42, and long-time girlfriend Camila Alves, 29, were married over the weekend, and PEOPLE has the first look at the newlyweds!

Talking about the pair’s decision to wed, Matthew tells People: ‘We decided to embrace the ritual of marriage as an opportunity and adventure we’ll take together.’

The couple were watched by around 120 guests, including famous faces such as Reese Witherspoon and Matthew’s close friend Woody Harrelson, as they tied the knot at their home in Austin, Texas on June 9th.

But the most special guests of all were undoubtedly the pair’s two children Levi, 3, and two-year-old Vida, who took pride of place as ring bearer and flower girl respectively for the wedding.

Camila added of her children’s roles in the ceremony: ‘Somehow they both seem to understand what we are doing on a spiritual level.’

The pair are said to have shared whispered vows, uttering them into each other’s ears, according to Us Weekly.

A source told the publication: ‘No one knew what they said. Whatever they said was very emotional. [Camila] was tearing up.’

They look so cute!
