Tom Ford has unveiled a pricy new fragrance, called Jardin Noir. The 8.4 oz bottle is priced at $495!! The fragrance will come in four individual scents that the 50-year-old designer say represent the unique “darker” and “thrilling” sides of each rose, lily, narcissus and hyacinth.

The designer, who carved a name for himself within the fashion industry when as the creative director of Gucci, said he was after a very different scent his previous perfumes.

Clearly, however, obsessed with the whiff of fresh blooms, past scents have included Black Orchid and Violet Blonde.

Mr Ford, who is also a film director and created the Oscar-winning movie A Single Man starring Colin Firth, told The New York Times: ‘When you showcase their [the flower's] darker and less innocent aspects, flowers can become so thrilling and beautiful, they could almost ruin you.

‘That was the sensation I was after.’

The four scents are named Cafè Rose, Lys Fume, Jonquille de Nuit, and Ombre de Hyacinth.

The fragrance works out to be about the same price as a T-shirt from the designer’s ready-to-wear collection.

I guess if you have the money to spend on it, then go for it. I’m sure Tom Ford isn’t concerned with people like you and I who would never pay $500 for a bottle of perfume! I am, however, totally interested to smell it. I wonder how much it would cost for a whiff?

Tom Ford’s first beauty collection launched this weekend in a handful of department stores. In case you haven’t seen the line – here we have a sneak peek at what you can expect from the glamorous beauty lines!!

The Colour Collection comes in chunky, gold packaging that screams pure luxury, but that’s not all. The complete collection includes everything you need in your makeup bag, from lip lacquer to a brow sculptor. Then there’s the Flawless Complexion range, featuring illuminating powder, a foundation stick and a highlighter pen and to top it all off, the Radiant Skin line includes seven more skincare products to keep you looking beautiful.

Sounds good? Look out for Tom Ford Beauty when it arrives in stores from 3 October. The collection is currently previewing in Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols in London and Brown Thomas in Dublin.

Rihanna took to Twitter to announce her exciting news—the popstar is the new face of Armani.

Last Wednesday she said, “U would NEVER guess what I’m doing right now!!! Hint Hint #Armani” and this morning Armani announced she’d be the new “Global Testimonial” for both Emporio Armani Underwear and Jeans.  A person can’t really be a testimonial, so in simpler terms, she’s the new Megan Fox.   Look for her ads this fall.

The designer, who is set to debut his first full makeup line this year, has been obsessed with beauty since he was a kid — for better and for worse. As he recounted to Women’s Wear Daily:

“When I was 14, I had to be taken to the emergency room because the cucumber slices I had put on my eyes — to camouflage the bags — had made them swell shut. I could eat cucumbers, but my eyes were clearly allergic to them.”

Yikes. Thankfully with his new beauty collection, which includes everything from hyper-pigmented lip glosses to contouring illuminator and brow pencils, Ford and his many fans can rely on more fail-proof methods for perfecting their skin. WWD noted:

Ford also uses a lot of the skin care products himself, including the Traceless Foundation Stick in the corners of his nose and eyes, the Illuminating Protective Primer, and the Purifying Crème Cleanser — “it goes on like cold cream and the skin feels moisturized and unbelievable.” He sometimes sleeps in the oil-based serum, Intensive Infusion Concentrate Extreme, which he said absorbs straight into the skin.
