Simply your life!

Parenting three young children is one of  the greatest joys of my life, but it can, at times, also been the greatest challenge. You learn on the fly in parenting and one of the most important things is how to simplify your daily routine. Here are a few of my stress relieving tips that help me make it through the week.

Prep The Night Before:  I set up the kids outfits, breakfast, and vitamins the night before so getting out the door is a snap. When I am cleaning up after dinner I throw together my daughters school lunch.

Chore Chart: We have a chore chart on the fridge with the kids daily tasks so they can see what they need to do and check it off as they go. Chores can be age appropriate, something as simple as a preschooler picking up their toys and going to bed on time.

Ask For Help: Don’t be afraid to ask your friends and loved ones for help when you need it. Whether it be advice or just a chance to grocery shop without your whole crew in tow. Trading babysitting and small favors between friends can really lessen the load.

Family Calendar: You can’t remember everything. Make lists and use your calendar! It helps keep both parents in the loop and will reduce over-scheduling.

Find Your Happy Place: Even with planning life can still feel overwhelming at times. Find that place that makes you happy  and find ways to schedule in regular visits. My happy place? The beach. I can go just look out at the ocean and the daily stress of life seems worlds away. My kids love the coast too, and its become a special place for my whole family.

Cee Lo Green and Lil’ Wayne perform at the Total Rewards ‘Plot Your Escape’ concert in Los Angeles!

Erin and I were honored to be invited to attend the ‘Plot Your Escape‘ concert in Hollywood on Thursday night, and it was certainly a night to remember! The event kicked off the beginning of the “Escape to Total Rewards” program, which encourages people to escape their lives for a couple days and enjoying a new rewarding experience!

The concert in L.A. was at the same time as three other concerts around the country. P.Diddy and Mariah Carey performed in N.Y.C., Maroon 5 and Sara Bareilles performed in Chicago, and Mary J. Blige and Gavin DeGraw performed in New Orleans. Fans all over the country were given the opportunity to get free tickets to the show – or watch the events live at PlotYourEscape.com.

As for the event in Hollywood, Total Rewards transformed Hollywood & Highland into an amazing concert venue. There were two area’s for V.I.P.’s and a huge general admission area by the stage. I tweeted the entire night from my V.I.P. loft, we were treated like royalty! The V.I.P. area was perfectly laid out. There was an open bar, appetizers by Wolfgang Puck, and plenty of good company. (I’m pictured below with MK from Popbytes, and Erin)

Here’s the list of yummy cocktails they prepared all night – they were TOO GOOD, we’ll just put it that way. I may have ended my night singing karaoke with Allie is Wired. :)

Total Rewards set up these fun photo booths all over the place, which allowed us to take pictures from – and upload them to our Facebook and Twitter pages! Click here to see my photo booth picture with Erin, MK and Shane Bitney.

Celebrities that were spotted at the event include Lance Bass, Kourtney Kardashian, Ashlee Simpson, Pia Toscano, Jimmy Kimmel and concert MC, Cat Deeley.

Lil’ Wayne started out the concert with an awesome performance. I wasn’t exactly thrilled when I heard he was performing, but I was pleasantly surprised at how fun he is live! Cee Lo came on stage next (in a neon pink suit), and performed some of his best hits. He was energetic, fun, and sounds even better live! Below are a couple videos of the performances!

In other Cee Lo news, it was just announced that the singer will be residing at the Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas. Wednesday, August 29th will be the premiere of his “Cee-Lo Green Presents LOBERACE” in the resort’s 1,400-seat showroom. The singer will go on to perform 28 shows this year!

Natural Makeup Look With the Help of COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm!

I (Jocelyn) am not a huge fan of heavy makeup. Very rarely will I put a lot of eye makeup on. If I do – I’m going out with the girls, or out on the town with my husband. Other than that, I opt for a more natural look. One thing I’m NEVER a huge fan of, is lipstick. For me, I just don’t like the feel of it on my lips. I know Erin likes lipstick, but she has much better lips than I do! (Time to try lip injections? I kid, I kid.)

When we were asked to go out and purchase a COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm to review, I knew I was the one for the job. I picked two shades. First I grabbed “Grenache, Grenache”, #235. I love it! It’s a shimmery – mauve color. Slightly darker than my lips. Second, I picked “Clay Argile”, #260, which is pictured below. I am in LOVE with this color. It’s a beautiful pinkish/pearly color that looks very natural. My husband took this picture of me (above) wearing it. It’s natural and beautiful, and I love it! It completes my natural makeup look beautifully.

What I did for my makeup here, was started with a shadow primer. Then I topped it with a baby pink eyeshadow – all over my eyelid. Then, using a eyeliner brush I applied rose colored eyeshadow along my lashes – as an eyeliner. I lightly blended the two colors in, and finished it off with a coat of black mascara. I then chose COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm in the shade “Clay Argile” or #260 (see below). I think it all goes together really well!  I think it’s a really beautiful way to wear your makeup this spring!

Please visit Glam.com’s Amazon store and check out all the beautiful colors available (and for so cheap!).

Get the sheer color and shine of a gloss with the soft, lightweight feel of SPF 15 balm. Fortified with mango and shea butter, this feel-good formula leaves your lips feeling decadent and delicious. I love that this balm feels so smooth on my lips. It’s so nice feeling, I’m going to have to pick up more colors!

STEAL: Apostrophe scarf, $12.99

Erin and I recently went to Sears on a Christmas shopping trip, and we spent about an hour going through some of Sears top brands! The scarf above was only $12.99 at Sears. If you ask me – that’s a STEAL! If I were to buy a similar scarf elsewhere, it would cost quite a bit more!
