It’s officially October and while I’m not loving this rain, I am ready for Fall. In the summer I love platinum highlights but switching to a golden blonde is a much easier maintenance color for Fall and Winter. The color I chose is classic very light from Clairol Professional’s Classic Collection. I still can’t believe how easy it was to mix my own dye and color my own hair right from the comfort of my own home.
It is always fun to add a few pieces to your wardrobe with the change of seasons. I love the cool, crisp weather of Fall and bringing out warm sweaters and coats. And with my new haircolor, its time to add some fun new pieces for Fall. The cool weather makes it even easier to add fun accessories with a pop of color. My plan was to grab a few new Fall clothing items and have a fun head to toe style photo. But I got a nasty cold this weekend and we were hit with a huge storm, so I decided to try to not look sick and hide indoors until I am well enough to do a little shopping. Here is an idea of the look I am shopping to create for Fall.
#1 MAJESTIC Beige/White Double Layer Linen Henley, #2 Calypso St. Barth Modex Scarf, #3 DSQUARED2 ‘Super Slim’ jean, #4 Costume National Brown Leather boots, #5 Ralph Lauren Deerfield Leather Canteen Bag, #6 Nixon the 42-20 Chromo watch, #7 J. One of my long standing favorite mascaras is Tarte’s lights, camera, lashes 4 in 1 mascara. The formula makes my barely there lashes jump out. It adds length and volume without being too heavy and having the spider lashes effect. The formula is so creamy and smooth and the thick brush grabs every tiny eyelash and coats it.
My eyes are sensitive and I have no issues when wearing this mascara and it doesn’t flake or fade, just stays put until you wash it off. In the Summer I love the waterproof version, it ensures my lashes will look great even in sweltering heat or laying poolside.

These days, many people rely on facelifts to get rid of lines and wrinkles or microdermabrasion to perfect their complexion. Both surgical and non-surgical treatments are widely available, but there are other ways to get a radiant glow – naturally.
Make your own facemask
With so many lotions and potions lining the shelves it can be easy to spend a fortune on expensive beauty products. This can leave you short of pocket, however, so why not whip up your own organic facemasks instead and invite your friends round for a pamper session? There are many recipes you can try, but the mashed banana and oat variety will soften and exfoliate your skin at the same time.
Raid your kitchen cupboards
If you’re looking for a long-lasting moisturiser than will nourish and condition your skin, olive oil is ideal. It’s used throughout the world to combat spots, stretch marks and frown lines, so raid your kitchen cupboards and see what you can find. If you don’t have any oil, butter is a great alternative for dry or flaky skin but you might have to warm it up slightly before applying. Combine it with sugar, salt of baking powder for a natural exfoliating product and you’ll feel great it no time!
Use tea to combat puffiness
Most of us enjoy a hot brew in the morning, but did you know tea is also good for your eyes? That’s right, refrigerated tea bags are thought to cool and soothe the skin and are believed to get rid of any puffiness you may be experiencing. The tannin in black tea is said to drain excess fluid while the anti-inflammatory properties of camomile can leave you fresh faced, so it’s worth experimenting if you have the time. Hate tea? Then a few slices of cucumber can work just as well.
Stay out of the sun
With summer rapidly approaching, many people will head outside in the hope of getting a tan. Sure, a bit of colour can be attractive, but it’s essential to protect your skin from the sun’s UV rays. You don’t want to end up with lines, wrinkles or even skin cancer when you’re older so whack on some cream with a high SPF factor and cover up when possible. If you want to improve your pale complexion without putting yourself at risk, simply mix loose mineral powder with organic sun cream and rub it over your face.
As the warm spell gets nearer, many people will opt for liposuction or a breast enlargement to improve the chest area, but you’ll have the secrets to look good naturally.
Whether male or female, looking good requires a lot of effort. You have to think about what to wear, what colors suit you and which products you decide to apply. There was a time when only women had to worry about doing all that, but men today are confronted with the same level of choice.
Dressed to impress?
Male grooming has been on the rise in the past 20 years. As men have taken more pride in the way they look, more products and clothes have been made, catering to different tastes. A trip to the local high street or shopping mall will lead to as much indecision for men as it would for women now!
A recent article stated that clothes for men are generally cheaper than women’s clothing, which may suggest that guys spend less on fashion, but the gap seems to be narrowing between the genders. However, some women might begin to ask the question: is my man spending more on their looks than me?
Vanity comes at a cost
Today, men are almost as likely as women to visit a tanning shop and are just as likely to have an accident. A survey by first4lawyers.com showed that fashion-related injuries are more common than you may think, especially for men!
When it came to tanning, 20% of guys who were injured while receiving fashion treatments were hurt during a UV tanning session. 16% said the same during spray tanning, while 13% complained of getting hurt when getting a haircut!
While women aren’t completely immune from fashion-related injuries, it shows that some guys are becoming just as, if not even more vain than women. Spending hours on end getting a tan, styling their hair or even on choosing the right aftershave to wear for a night on the town is becoming more common nowadays.
