Jennifer Connelly named the face of Shiseido (AGAIN) after first appearing in their ads 25 years ago!

Jennifer Connelly has been signed as the first global spokesperson for Shiseido – but this isn’t her first time representing the brand.

“I’ve had a long relationship with Shiseido – I worked with them in the Eighties on an ad campaign, and have been using their products ever since,” the Academy Award-winning actress told WWD. “It’s nice to reconnect with them after so many years.”

As Shiseido Co., Ltd. celebrates its 140th anniversary, the company announced that it has signed Academy Award-winning actress, Jennifer Connelly, who previously represented the company in Asia. Connelly will be the namesake brand’s global spokesperson and face of its highly acclaimed premium skincare line Future Solution LX. Connelly’s first advertising campaign as global spokesperson will debut this fall.

“I am honored to be working with Shiseido again and to be representing the Future Solution LX line globally,” said Jennifer Connelly. “Like Shiseido, I believe it is important to prepare now for our future well being. I look forward to sharing my journey with Future Solution LX with women worldwide.”

While this marks the first time the brand will be working with a global spokesperson, this will not be the first time Shiseido has worked with the classic beauty; more than two decades ago, Connelly appeared in an advertising campaign for a Shiseido makeup brand that was distributed in Japan.

This spring, Connelly is appearing in her latest feature film “Virginia.” She has also starred in acclaimed movies including, “A Beautiful Mind,” for which she won an Oscar and Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress, “Reservation Road”, “Blood Diamond”, “Requiem for a Dream” and “The House of Sand and Fog.”

Shiseido Supports Breast Cancer Awareness‏!


Shiseido Gives Back to Cosmetic Executive Women Foundation’s Cancer and Careers Program

- In Honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Shiseido Donates Five Dollars for Every Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in Iron Maiden (RS308)

For the fifth consecutive year, Shiseido Cosmetics America is partnering with Cosmetic Executive Women (CEW) to support their philanthropic arm, Cancer and Careers, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer and Careers is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting working women living with cancer.

As part of the partnership, Shiseido will donate $5 to Cancer and Careers for every unit of Shiseido Makeup Shimmering Rouge Lipstick in Iron Maiden (RS308) sold throughout the month of October.

Amanda Seyfriend named the spokesperson of Shiseido!

Amanda Seyfried has been tapped to be the face of Cle de Peau Beaute, a division of the giant Japanese cosmetics company Shiseido Co. Ltd. The 24-year-old “Chloe” star is named the global spokesperson of the cosmetic and skincare luxury line.

The blonde beauty, who starred in the romantic drama flicks “Dear John” and “Letters to Juliet” this year, will be appearing in the brand’s Spring 2011 ad campaign, shot by British photographer David Sims.

The prestige skincare and makeup line, which is French for “key to beautiful skin,” was originally launched as Cle de Peau in Japan in 1982 and relaunched in 1996. It debuted globally in 1999, and is currently sold in 11 countries.

She said, “I have long admired Cle de Peau Beaute. As the new spokesperson for the brand, it was very important to me that the collaboration be an authentic one. I appreciate Cle de Peau Beaute’s philosophy of empowering each woman to define her own unique sense of style.”

“It’s a very sophisticated approach to beauty that I appreciate and I feel closely reflects my own beauty ideals.”

Shiseido introduces its Fall 2009 Makeup collection, created by Shiseido’s Artistic Director Dick Page. The inspiration for this line was drawn from mosaic art, bringing a variety of different shades together to create a “full wardrobe” of colors, one that would fulfill a woman’s basic needs for every occasion. These colors are reflected in the new Luminizing Satin Eye Color Line, an elegant collection with the luminous look of fine silk. Available in 15 unique shades, this new interpretation of neutrals, pastels and brights makes choosing a color an adventurous pleasure. Each shade is meant to wear alone or in combination for an unlimited variety of looks for the season.

I love Shiseido’s new line! The eye shadows are beautiful! They are rich, and silky, and they last all day! I recently tried all of these products, and they are fabulous. I started with the Smoothing Eyeliner Pencil, and used two beautiful shades of the Luminizing Satin Eye Color. I finished it off with the Distinguish Mascara, which was great.

It is a GREAT line. The colors are beautiful, and they are so rich and bold.  I’ve already decided on the colors I have to try next, and I can’t wait to get my hands on them.  I’m picky about my eyeliners, and this is a great find. It glides on so easily, and smudges beautifully.

GET THE LOOK: Thick Nefertiti liner goes well with smoky eyes, but if you want to subtly simmer, try a gradually thinning line, like Angelina Jolie. Use a liquid liner to draw a thin rim along upper lashlines. Go over the outer half of each eye one more time, and extend slightly beyond the eye.

INSIDER TRICK: The secret to this look: Line the bottom corner of each eye to accentuate the outer edge and create an exotic almond shape. If done correctly, outer corners will look like a sideways capital Y.

I thought it was only appropriate to pick a liquid eye liner by Shiseido, which Angelina is the spokeswoman for.
