Rihanna on Chris Brown: ‘We Know Exactly What We Have Now’

For the first time, Rihanna has really opened up about her on-again relationship with ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, and how despite what anyone thinks, she’s going to do what she wants. She claims Chris will never hurt her again, and if she sees any of his old behavior coming out again, then she knows when to leave.

Rihanna has opened up like never before about getting back together with her ex-boyfriend, Chris Brown, and what it means for her public image. “I decided it was more important for me to be happy,” she tells the new issue of Rolling Stone. “I wasn’t going to let anybody’s opinion get in the way of that. Even if it’s a mistake, it’s my mistake. After being tormented for so many years, being angry and dark, I’d rather just live my truth and take the backlash. I can handle it.”

The couple’s public reconciliation comes less than four years since Brown assaulted Rihanna the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards. “When you add up the pieces from the outside, it’s not the cutest puzzle in the world,” Rihanna says. “You see us walking somewhere, driving somewhere, in the studio, in the club, and you think you know. But it’s different now. We don’t have those types of arguments anymore. We talk about shit. We value each other. We know exactly what we have now, and we don’t want to lose that.”

And Rihanna says that if Brown were ever to display a hint of his past behavior towards her, she is ready to walk. “He doesn’t have the luxury of fucking up again,” she says. “That’s just not an option. I can’t say that nothing else will ever go wrong. But I’m pretty solid in the knowing that he’s disgusted by that. And I wouldn’t have gone this far if I ever thought that was a possibility.”

I think it’s pretty messed up that she’s back with him. You just don’t want to put yourself in that kind of situation, I think everyone can agree on that. I hope it never gets to a violent point again, but you have to think that it will.

Rihanna celebrates her past 7 albums with 7 Complex covers!

Rihanna covers the February issue of Complex magazine, and to celebrate the event, they shot seven covers to represent her seven albums. Her latest album, ‘Unapologetic’ is represented by the Complex cover above.

In the interview, Rihanna opens up about her obsession with Instagram, about her ‘Unapologetic’ album, and her duet with Chris Brown.

Here are some clips from the interview:

On her obsession with Instagram: “Get a good light. Get a good angle on what’s working for you that day. If it’s boobs, make sure you hit that. If it’s face, make sure it’s fierce. It’s narcissistic, but whatever–everyone does it. I’m capturing personality… Everybody has their thing they like or don’t like to see. It’s all in your head. That’s why people take their own pictures, because it’s difficult for someone else to capture what you seek.”

On media perception: “People take the little bit of information they’re fed, and they draw a picture of who you are. Most of the time it’s wrong.”

On being part of Team Breezy: “We don’t start the trouble, but that’s how we’re defending ourselves–by saying some slick sh-t. That’s how I’ve always been. I was so rude when I was a little girl. I got my ass beat by my mother for that. Most of the time it was because of my mouth.”

On why she is Unapologetic: “When I was making this record I had no intention except the truth. So whatever is there is real. It’s raw. That’s why the album is called Unapologetic. I held back before. I didn’t show a lot of myself. I was very guarded. I needed to be open and free and fearless. Basically say, ‘F**k it.’ What’s the worst that can happen? They’ll hate me? They’ve done that before.”

On her & Brown’s duet, “Nobodies Business”: “It’s nobody’s business,” she says flatly. [Journo repeats his inquiry.] Her voice, usually warm and cut with chuckles, turns cold. “Pardon me?” she replies, her eyebrow slightly raised. Even after the question is repeated, she hesitates to answer. The hands that moved up and down throughout the conversation, suddenly fall flat. “It’s the truth. Remember? You’re still asking me questions about it so clearly you don’t know.”

Rihanna goes nude for GQ Magazine, they name her ‘Obsession of the Year’

Channing Tatum has been named “Movie Star of the Year” by GQ, and Ben Affleck has been named “Filmmaker of the Year”. In their third cover of the month, Rihanna was named “Obsession of the Year”, and today we’re getting our first look at all three covers!

I like all three of their choices for covers. Channing definitely deserves the cover for ‘Movie Star of the Year’ after the year he’s had (‘Magic Mike’, ’21 Jump Street’). He’s also reportedly going to be announced as People Magazine’s Sexiest Man Alive any day now.

Ben Affleck certainly deserves the ‘Filmmaker of the Year’ award. After seeing ‘Argo’ – which was BRILLIANT – I think he deserves all the accolades he gets.

As of today, only the Rihanna interview has been released, which you can read it here at GQ. Some highlights via Celebitchy:

Rihanna on what she wants in a relationship: “I like to feel like a woman. I have to be in control in every other aspect of my life, so I feel like in a relationship, like I wanted to be able to take a step back and have somebody else take the lead.”

…on love: “Love makes you go places you probably wouldn’t ever go, had it not been for love. But I think everybody still has their limits.”

…on how she sees herself: “Sometimes a person looks at me and sees dollars. They see numbers and they see a product. I look at me and see art. If I didn’t like what I was doing, then I would say I was committing slavery. ”

…on the fight between Drake and Chris Brown: “There’s no proof of that being for my love. That’s my answer to that question.”

What do you think of GQ’s covers?

Rihanna covers Vogue Magazine, talks about Chris Brown: “They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view.”

Rihanna covers the November issue of Vogue Magazine, and inside the mag, the singer promotes her new album, ‘Unapologetic’. The new album is Rihanna’s sixth album, in seven years.

Annie Leibovitz photographed Rihanna for the magazine, and the pictures are beautiful!

The interview was conducted on the evening of the MTV Video Music Awards, shortly after Rihanna debuted her newly cropped hairdo. Rihanna talks about Chris Brown quite a bit, and it’s obvious that at the time the two were working towards a reconciliation. The two are now officially together again.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:

On her new hair: “Spur of the moment. My hair was supposed to be down to my ass tonight.”

On the Robert Pattinson texting rumors: “The most bullsh-t ever.”

On time and space: Rihanna says she found herself one morning in a hotel room in Tokyo and had no idea where she was. “Jen, my assistant, was waking me up, and I was like, ‘Whose room am I in? Why am I in this room?’ I never know what day it is. Never, ever, ever.” What day is today? Rihanna pauses. Her lips curl, and she begins to make an “S” sound. “Ooh, I went to say Saturday.” She laughs and corrects herself. “It’s Wednesday. Wednesday.”

She [was] single: “I have not been on a date in forever. Like two years. Haven’t gone to the movies, to dinner. Zero. I would love to go on a date,” she says. “You don’t think that? I’m a woman. A young woman, vibrant, and I love to have fun. And I have too many vaginas around me at this point. Seriously, all I want is a guy to take me out and make me laugh for a good hour and take my ass back home. He doesn’t even have to come up. All I want is a conversation for an hour. No one asks. Trust me on that. I’m waiting for the man who’s ballsy enough to deal with me. I’m going to wait, though. You always find the wrong sh-t when you go looking.”

She never wanted to tweet: “I just thought, Who cares? Do I say, ‘Getting in thecar. Getting on the plane’? I was so distraught by the whole idea.”

Jay-Z on Rihanna’s tweeting: “It’s the rawest form of freedom of expression, right? She has the right to express herself, and I know she’s being playful. I know when she’s being serious and when she’s just having fun. What were you doing when you were 24? I mean, you’ve got to have fun. She’s having fun. She’s having so much fun.”

Will she talk about Chris Brown forever? “To the world, I feel like there’s no closure. There’s some obsession that’s continued even throughout when we weren’t friends or couldn’t be friends at all. Hated each other. The world hasn’t let go. They haven’t seen any progress in our friendship, because they don’t see anything, really, besides the song.”

The “Birthday Cake remix was her idea: “I didn’t think it could be anything detrimental to my career. I was on a tour bus ride between two cities, listening to my album, thinking, Oooh, maybe I should make this into a duet. And I started coming up with a bunch of people, and his name crossed my mind. I thought, We haven’t made a song in so long together . . . it could be a little shocking. So now it’s a bit of a fascination, I guess. I don’t know if people will stop soon, but I feel like as soon as they have closure to it, they will. But they’re not on the inside. They can’t see what I see, unless they’re sitting in my point of view. I guess I’ll learn to accept that.”

Riding on her private jet: “Every time we come on one of these things, it’s unreal. I’m in a positive space, but I do have my days. Everybody has their days.”

FIRST LOOK: Are you ready for Nude by Rihanna?

Rihanna just posted this message on her Facebook page: “Are you ready for Nude by Rihanna? Photographer, Tony Duran photographed Rihanna for the sexy and playful Nude by Rihanna campaign. Rihanna, dressed in nude lingerie while wrapped in a sheer sheath, blasted her music and kept reapplying Nude.”

This doesn’t look like her at all!?

Nudity is all the rage when it comes to pop stars’ fragrance ads, with Christina Aguilera and Lady Gaga both showing skin recently. Rihanna is the latest lady to show off her body for her appropriately-titled Nude perfume, in a sexy advertisement she debuted on Twitter over the weekend.

The “Diamonds” singer rocks blonde, old Hollywood waves and nude lace lingerie in the image. When she released the photo, Rih-Rih tweeted, “Here is my new ad for a brand new fragrance #NUDE! Make sure you smell sexy, especially naked, this fall!”

Rihanna has already released two successful fragrances, Reb’l Fleur and Rebelle, the second of which reportedly became the fastest-selling celebrity perfume in the U.K.

PIC: Rihanna gets a huge tattoo in honor of her late grandmother

Rihanna has  a huge new tattoo!

The singer, 24, got a new tattoo over the weekend in honor of her beloved grandmother Dolly, who passed away in June.

Rihanna shared a topless photo of her new tattoo, a feathererd Egyptian goddess named Isis, inked on the top of her ribcage. “Goddess Isis – Complete Woman” Rihanna tweeted. “Model for future generations – #GRANGRANDOLLY – always in and on my heart #1love.”

In London on Sunday, she wowed tens of thousands of fans as she sang “Princess of China” with Coldplay in a seriously steamy performance with frontman (and Gwyneth Paltrow’s husband) Chris Martin. At the VMAs in Los Angeles three days earlier, it was her off-stage behavior that caused the most comment: Winning the Video of the Year award for “We Found Love,” she hugged and kissed — on the lips — her abusive ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The chart-topper may or may not have been alluding to her former beau, 23, and their surprising VMAs PDA via Twitter on Saturday with a series of messages. “Heartbreak . . .” she wrote. “I was his Marilyn Monroe . . . A James Dean on the low. What’s love without tragedy?”

What do you think about her new tattoo? I kind of love it. I’ve been dyyyyyyyyyying for a new tattoo lately. Trouble is, I can’t think of anything I want. I would love to come up with something of meaning, but I’m at a loss. Probably means I won’t actually get a new tattoo, but I’ve been feeling the urge lately. Wish there was something meaningful to me that would translate well into a tattoo. I’m not a huge fan of initials – or birth signs – or whatever. I’d love to get something cool, but coming up with the right thing is tricky!

What are your tattoos? What’s the meaning behind them?
