Look by Celebrity Makeup Artist Molly R. Stern

Celebrity makeup artist Molly R. Stern created a “sultry” look for Reese Witherspoon, a nominee in the Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role category for her performance in “Wild.”

Stern was inspired by the “smoldering beauties of film noir” and balanced “rich Bordeaux” colours on the eyes and lips with “bright and flushed skin.”

FACE: Bright, flushed and photo-ready skin

  • Stern first applied Caudalie Eau De Beaute Beauty Elixer, ($49) to invigorate Witherspoon’s skin. Next, she massaged Natura Bisse The Cure Pure Serum, ($260) to give her skin vibrancy and hydration.
  • Then, Stern applied NEW Laura Mercier Silk Crème Moisturizing Photo Edition Foundation in Cream Ivory, $48 to ensure Witherspoon’s complexion was “sheer, dewy and lustrous.”
  • Using Kjaer Weiss Cream Blush in Lovely, ($56),Stern “heated up” the apples of Witherspoon’s cheeks, giving off a “radiant glow.”

EYES: Matte, earthy look

  • For Witherspoon’s eye look, Stern opted for a “matte earthy wine all over the lids and smoked out underneath the lash line.”
  • She first created a base using Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Blaze, ($25). She then applied Laura Mercier Matte Eye Colour in Truffle, ($24), which she described as rich brown shadow, over the base to give the eye “a depth of color.” Stern topped off the eye look with a brighter shadow – Makeup For Ever Artist Shadow – Matte Finish in Morello Cherry, ($21).
  • Next, she tightly lined Witherspoon’s upper and lower lash line using Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Espresso, ($24).Lastly, Stern curled the actress’ lashes with the Shu Uemura Eyelash Curler, ($29), and coated her lashes twice using Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara in Black, ($25).

LIPS: Rich, Bordeaux colour

  • To complete the look, Stern used Laura Mercier Crème Smooth Lip Colour in Cocoa, ($27) as a base and brightened and enriched the color by applying NEW Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in Orchid Pink ($28, March 2015). To give an “added punch,” she applied NEW Laura Mercier Paint Wash Liquid Lip Colour in Vermillion Red, ($28, March 2015) to the center of the lips.
  • Finally, she topped Witherspoon’s lip look withLaura Mercier Lip Glacé in Black Cherry, ($25) to give “depth and sheen.”

Get the Look: Reese Witherspoon at the ‘Wild’ premiere!

We’ve got all the details about how to get the hairstyle that celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel created for Reese Witherspoon at the Wild premiere in Los Angeles.

THE LOOK: Modern yet classic – accented with a 60’s inspired heavy side swept bangs and a simple chic bun

THE BREAKDOWN:

· To begin, Abergel created a very deep side part on towel dried hair and applied John Frieda Frizz Ease Nourishing Oil Elixir to create beautiful shine and pliability.

· Next, he applied John Frieda Luxurious Volume Root Booster Blow Dry Lotion from the roots through mid shaft to create volume.

· Then, he blow dried the hair smooth with a round brush creating side swept bangs for a 60’s feel.

· Once the hair was dry, he took a fine tooth comb and teased the crown making sure to smooth it with a paddle brush. Once the shape was achieved, he locked it in by spraying John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Day Hold Hairspray.

· He tamed any fly aways by rubbing a dime size amount of John Frieda Frizz Ease Secret Weapon Touch-Up Crème and running it through the hair.

· Abergel then pulled the hair into a low ponytail staying about 4” above the nape of the neck and secured it with an elastic. He then twisted the hair into an “S” shape knot and pinned it in place.

· To finish, he sprayed John Frieda Luxurious Volume All-Day Hold Hairspray to set the look.

Reese Witherspoon covers Elle Magazine, opens up about how her children changed her life.

Reese Witherspoon, 37, covers the November issue of Elle Magazine, dubbed the “Women in Hollywood” issue. Penelope Cruz, Melissa McCarthy and Shailene Woodley also have covers (I’ll post those below). Witherspoon looks amazing on the cover, doesn’t she?

In the interview, she talked about her children, and how they made her a better woman. “Somebody was saying to me the other day, ‘Oh, people get less interesting when they have kids.’ I just don’t think that’s true,” the Oscar winner says. “I feel like I was so confused before I had kids, I almost got in my own way.”

Witherspoon has two children with her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe. 14-year-old Ava, and 9-year-old Deacon. She also has a 12-month old son, Tennessee with her second husband Jim Toth. “Having kids made me clearer about who I was as a woman. I just wanted to exhibit good qualities for my daughter. I was a little competitive before I had kids — probably really competitive, to be honest,” she said. “It really made me let go of that.”

Reese is not only in front of the camera, but she’s also behind it. In 2000 she founded Type A Films, which merged with Pacific Standard in 2012. “I started noticing a couple years ago that I wasn’t seeing women as the stars of movies,” she recalls. “I’m seeing them as the guys’ girlfriends, or so-and-so’s wife. I just thought: God, if I don’t start buckling down and start producing some movies, what’s my daughter going to see in the movies?”
