Kristen Bell: “I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size.”

The unbelievably adorable Kristen Bell gave birth to her daughter, Lincoln, in March. This picture, taken for the new issue of Redbook, was taken just 11 weeks after giving birth, and she looks beautiful! The actress admits that she gained 43 pounds while pregnant, and is about 15 pounds from where she wants to be. Her fiance, Dax Shepard admits he loves her new curves. “All he did was tell me he loved me chubby,” she reveals. “He even asked me to stay chubby after the baby was born.”

On not obsessing about her post-baby weight
“I refused to worry about something I could not change, and I still refuse. Look, I’m like any other woman. All this evolved b.s. that I’m telling you is my mantra: It’s not something I practice naturally. I had to surrender to not worrying about the way I looked, how much I weighed, because that’s just part of the journey of having a baby. I am not a woman whose self-worth comes from her dress size.”

On having a career after baby
“I still want a career. Lincoln will always be number one, but I think if you can cut that cord of obsessiveness, then you can work and be a good mother and wife.”

The flawless Jennifer Garner talks her beauty routine, which rarely consists of makeup.

Jennifer Garner is featured in the new issue of Redbook Magazine, and Rebecca Romijn took the cover. It seems weird that Rebecca got the cover over Jennifer, but oh well. In the interview, Jennifer opens up about her beauty secrets, which surprisingly are very simple. Maybe not surprising considering her natural beauty. I love Jennifer – more so than most all other celebrities. It’s her down-to-earth style that makes her seem just like any of us. She dresses like we do, she doesn’t take a nanny with her every where she goes. She just seems like really good people. Doesn’t she?

Here’s more from the interview…

On the makeup that she wears everyday:
“Most days I don’t get around to makeup. If I do, it’s pretty simple: concealer, blush, mascara and some lipcolor. If I’m really going for it, I might fill in my brows. Generally speaking, brows are underserved.”

On what the transition feels like from her every day, relaxed style to red carpet glamness:
“The red carpet feels like a whole other side of me. What I wear during the day reflects utility. The red carpet is really fun. It’s show business, and we’re putting on a show. A lot of people are involved in the styling and my voice is one of the smaller ones in the mix. You should hear the conversations {in a dramatic voice] “I think it’s a smoky eye and a simple lip…” I make fun of everyone for being so invested.

A lesson learned from her hairstylists:
“They taught me that letting my hair dry naturally – which is what I do every single day – is good for it…but it’s not always going to look good. Pulling out the blow-dryer and the curling iron really does make a difference. But to be perfectly honest, I don’t know even know where the hair dryer is in my house.”

Her favorite beauty tip:
“Putting on SPF should be like brushing your teeth.”
