JESSICA BIEL – 2014 Oscar Awards

Makeup Artist: Kayleen McAdams, ck one color global makeup artist

Inspiration: “I wanted to do something really fresh, light and feminine. There were so many beautiful pastels in her dress, so I played with those tones.”

Face:

  • I prepped Jessica’ skin with moisturizing face and eye products, Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration and Kiehl’s Creamy Eye Treatment with Avocado, to give her makeup a good base to stick to.
  • Then, I used a damp Beauty Blender to apply ck one 3-in-1 face makeup with SPF 8 in fair 200, followed by ck one 3-in-1 concealer in light 1 underneath the eyes, around the nose, and along the edges of her mouth to even out her skin.
  • I used Charlotte Tilbury Sculpt and Highlight Powder on the tops of Jessica’s cheekbones, down her nose, and on her cupid’s bow.
  • I finished her skin with ck one cream + powder blush duo in breath 100 right on the apples of her cheeks and set it with the powder side of the product to give the look staying power throughout the night.

Eyes:

  • For Jessica’s eyes, I started by using a fluffy brush to apply ck one cream + powder bronzer duo in deeply bronzed 400 all over the lid.
  • Then, I used ck one powder eyeshadow in expose and evolved on the inner corners of the eye and along the lash line at the outer corners.
  • I completed her eye with two coats of ck one volumizing mascara on the top lashes to pump up the lashes.
  • Then, I applied the same mascara onto an eyelash comb and combed through the bottom lashes to slightly darken them.

Lips:

  • For Jessica’s lips, I used Tarte Lip Surgence in Lucky to cover her whole lip with a matte pink; I also used this product in the center of her lips to give dimension and add moisture to her look.
  • Lastly, I gave Jessica’s lips a good coating of Kiehl’s Facial Fuel No-Shine Lip Balm to soak in while I did her eyes.

Amy Adams 86th Annual Academy Awards
Nominee, Actress in a Leading Role, American Hustle

Makeup by Stephen Sollitto

Celebrity makeup artist Stephen Sollitto created a sophisticated makeup look for Amy Adams, who is nominated for “Actress in a Leading Role” for her portrayal of Sydney Prosser in “American Hustle.” He stated, “She wore a stunning sapphire blue Gucci gown, modern and clean. Obviously, I am inspired by this color and simply wanted the makeup to be just as sophisticated.” Below, he breaks down the steps he took to create her flawless red carpet look.

SKINCARE PREP

Sollitto prepared Adams’ skin using RéVive Moisturizing Renewal Cream ($195). He stated, “I always moisturize with this product. This is the line I use on myself every day. Prepping the skin is just as important as the makeup you use.”

FOUNDATION

  • Sollitto applied Laura Mercier Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide (NEW – Coming Fall 2014) to create a flawless complexion. He noted, “This foundation is simple to apply with a wet sponge or your fingers. It’s long wear, oil free and lightweight. In the end it gives you a matte finish so you don’t have to dust your face with loose powder, it’s built in.”

EYES

  • Sollitto applied Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Terracotta ($24) to Adams’ lids and contrasted the look by applying Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Black Karat ($24) under the star’s bottom lashes.
  • To keep Adam’s eyes looking ”bright,” Sollitto dotted his “ideal champagne shade,” Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Sugar Frost ($26) to the inner corners of Adams’ eyes.
  • He applied Nars Eye Paint Liner in Tatar ($25) along the star’s upper lash line to make them “pop.”
  • To finish, he applied Dior Black Out Mascara ($25) to Adams’ lashes.

CHEEKS

  • Sollitto applied the perfect “spring-like blush,” Tom Ford Beauty Cheek Color in Ravish ($56) to create a look “that was flush with color.”

LIPS

  • Sollitto noted that he wanted to achieve a lip look that was “pretty, a little bit rosy and glossy.” He used Laura Mercier Rouge Nouveau Weightless Lip Colour in Cozy ($25) which he described as “having the perfect punch I was looking for.” He then layered Tom Ford Beauty Ultra Shine Lip Gloss in Rose Crush ($45) over it “for a bit of glamour to match the day.”

HAIR BY: CHRIS McMILLAN, LIVING PROOF CELEBRITY HAIRSTYLIST

INSPIRATION: “The key word is natural. She’ll be one of the only people there who is able to actually touch her hair. Jen’s Valentino gown was such a daring fashion choice, so we wanted her hair to make her feel comfortable. I created a look that would last the entire night, from the red carpet to when she presents. “

TIPS/TECHNIQUE: “First, I washed the hair with Living Proof Full Shampoo and Conditioner. I then applied Prime Style Extender to wet hair and massaged through for a lasting style, while still allowing the hair to have movement. Using a large round brush, I blew out the hair straight with a deep, side bang. Finally, I applied Hold Flexible Hairspray to the roots for height and lightly sprayed the rest of the hair.”

Dove Celeb Stylist Dishes on Jennifer Lawrence’s Oscar’s Hair

I adore Jennfier Lawrence! She looked beautiful last night, I am so glad she won for her role in Silver Linings Playbook!

At the 85th annual Oscars, Jennifer Lawrence, nominated for Actress in a Leading Role for “Silver Linings Playbook,” stole the style spotlight. Below is the breakdown from Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend on how women can recreate her style at home.

Jennifer Lawrence is a dream to work with, she is so unbelievably fun and inspiring.

    1. For her Oscars hair style, I started by applying a few drops of Dove Nourishing Oil Care Anti-Frizz Serum to her damp hair and combed through. This serum is loaded with natural almond and coconut oils to give the hair extra moisture and shine.
    2. Next, I added a large dollop of Dove Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to her hair and blow dried with a large round brush.
    3. To give the hair texture and shine I added a nickel size of Dove Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum in my hands and then raked through the hair. Then, I took random pieces from each side and loosely twisted them and pinned them together at the back of the head with eight bobby pins in crosses.
    4. Then, I took the remaining hair and gathered it into a loose playful bun and finished as always with Dove Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray.
