Side By Side Comparisons: Oil-Free Makeup Removers!

I recently ran out of my go-to makeup remover, Neutrogena’s Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover, and headed to Safeway to buy some more. I saw these two bottles sitting next to each other on the shelf, and the Safeway generic version was almost half the price. SOLD! I grabbed the knock-off and went home.

Fast forward to me removing my makeup, and I was NOT a happy camper. I regularly wear eyeliner and mascara, and this makeup remover DID NOT WORK. Maybe if you’re a light-makeup-wearing-kind-of-person this makeup remover would work for you, but it did not work for me. I had to rub and rub – and eventually found myself desperately trying to get ANYTHING out of my now-empty Neutrogena bottle.

My advice: Stick with the good stuff, it’s worth it. Even if it’s half the price to buy Safeway’s version – you’ll have to use twice as much to get it to work!! I am ALL for generic, and cheaper versions of things….. but cheaper is not always better.

This advice is free of charge. You’re welcome. :)

Back to Safeway.
