I just had to share. I recently bought OPI’s ‘Chick Flick Cherry’ polish, and I absolutely love it! It’s the perfect – fall color. Deep red.

Fashion designer Marc Jacobs - and makeup genius François Nars have teamed up in a beautiful way! In a friendship that has lasted several years, the two are collaborating in an amazing way!

First Marc called upon François to helm the makeup backstage at his fall 2009 show (and he has been doing so ever since); then François persuaded Marc to sit in front of his lens, and pose (fully made-up) for his book, 15X15. Now the twosome is getting together once again for a new collaboration: cool—and clever—boxed sets of fingerless cashmere Marc Jacobs gloves and NARS nail lacquers.

Available in black cashmere with black-gold polish or purple cashmere with smoky lavender polish, the sets marry a major accessories trend—fingerless gloves not only make texting easier but they carry the same cool factor as a pair of open-toed boots—with one of the season’s best beauty looks. Of the polishes, which Nars mixed exclusively for this project, he says, “they don’t match the gloves, but complement them.” Everyone can appreciate that.

To this day – our post on men’s nail polish back in 2007 – is our most talked about, most controversial post we’ve done so far. (If you have a minute you should check out the post and just read any of the 300 comments in the thread. Some really interesting stuff!)

Here at MHU, we’ve known for quite some time that there is a HUGE need for men’s beauty products – and we even talked about starting a men’s beauty site (but c’mon, who has the time!).

Here we’re getting our first look at a line of men’s nail polish that will release this month! More from Glamour:

Men’s skincare and grooming brand EvolutionMan will introduce a line of nail polishes to its assortment this month. I’m pretty sure Jared Leto is going to be excited about it. And we know we’ve got Johnny Depp on board. Will your guy be down for a MAN-icure?

The line consists of two sheer nail varnishes and three opaque nail ‘paints’ that retail for $14 each. Matte finishes and colors that veer from “the traditional black, blue and white that can be found on many a man’s nail” define the new range, according to the brand.

A shiny purple shade called Alter Ego (above) probably qualifies as the most daring. Although Dave Navarro has been wearing purple nail polish for years so what do I know.

Jeez, the Muppets are everywhere these days! First, Miss Piggy and MAC team up, and now this!

OPI is celebrating the new Muppets film by launching a Muppet-inspired line of nail polish! Introductin The Muppets Collection, which has a shade for each of their favorite characters. Here are three that Cosmopolitan picked as their favorites.

Who has the time to paint nails anymore?

I love to paint my nails, but typically it takes a good hour or so to completely dry. That’s hard to pull off anymore, with such a busy schedule!

On my last trip to Sally’s I noticed these two products, and I decided to give them a try. They’re $7.99 each – but the bottles are TWICE the normal size, so it’s well worth it.

Lady Gaga continues to be the face of MAC’s Viva Glam, which she’s done successfully for the past year.

Lady Gaga has been the face of MAC‘s Viva Glam campaign for the past year–her lipstick is a pale nude color–and she’s been working on a fashion project with Nicola Formichetti for the cosmetics brand. Back in March, Gaga put out a call for fans to submit head shots of themselves which would be incorporated into a “masterpiece” of a dress.

Watch Gaga float and stare dreamily, and then release a tiny version of herself which flies away. All while wearing the tallest shoes I think she’s worn to date. The most important part, though, is that this is all to support MACs campaing to fight AIDS through the purchase of their Viva Glam lipsticks.
