Jocelyn’s Christmas Must-Have Number 6!

For whatever reason, over the last year – my nails went from being strong and healthy to weak and brittle. I upped my vitamins, and headed to Target to find a solution for my unhealthy nails! I went straight for the Sally Hansen Complete Care line. I zeroed in on Complete Care Extra Moisturizing 4-IN-1 Treatment, which is a little miracle in a bottle! It fills the ridges, strengthens, improves growth and has a beautiful glossy shine!

I have used it both on it’s own, and as a base/top coat. I absolutely LOVE this product. It’s a bit on the spendy side (around $10) but it’s absolutely worth it. My nails stopped splitting and cracking, and they’ve been noticeably stronger!

This makes my Christmas Must-Have list because it’s such a great product. At around $10 – it would make the perfect stocking stuffer!

An additional perk is when you use it as a base/top coat, your polish lasts so much longer! I can wear fingernail polish for a week now before it starts chipping, and that’s quite a feat! This product makes fingernail polish last longer!

Complete Care Extra Moisturizing has everything that Complete Care Original has to offer PLUS an enriched complex of Avocado Oil and plant extracts that help hydrate, condition and restore flexibility to dry brittle nails. MORE! More »

I’m in love with Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri Top Coat

I never EVER have the time to let my nail polish dry, so I’m always on the look out for products that speed the process up. I picked up Sally Hansen’s Insta-Dri - and I’m in love! It dries my polish in minutes! (It says 30 seconds, but that’s not true at all). Give it like 5-10 minutes and your nails will be completely dry.

And that’s not the best part. It’s also anti-chip, so your polish will look amazing for much longer! I painted my nails on Monday – and today there’s not one single chip! That’s quite a fete for me, I’m very hard on my nail polish. During this holiday season when you’re cooking and cleaning – and washing your hands more than usual – you can count on this product to keep your nails gorgeous!

I picked it up for under $5 at Rite Aid. You can find it at your local drug store!

Katy Perry’s New OPI Spring 2011 Nail Polish Collection Ad Campaign

Katy Perry has ditched the Elie Saab wedding dress and gone back to her fun-loving (and sexy) roots in the playful new campaign for her OPI nail collection, Chic Profile reports.

Posing against a vibrant backdrop featuring a peace sign drawn with nail polish, the “Firework” singer wears a purple wig adorned with pink gerber daisies, plus leather hot pants and a beaded and fringed California crop top thrown over a pink bikini.

Russell Brand is so thanking his lucky stars right now.

As we previously reported, the four-color collection will launch in January at Ulta.

Available for $9 each, the shades include Teenage Dream (a plummy pink sparkle), Not Like the Movies (metallic silver), Last Friday Night (a Crayola blue glitter), and The One That Got Away (a deepest dark berry purple).

Check out Nubar’s 10th Anniversary “Flaky” Nail Polish!

Check out Nubar’s 10th anniversary nail polish.

This clear topcoat is filled with tiny reflective flakes that subtly shimmer in hues of green, orange, or gold, depending on the light and your base color.

It does double duty as a cool complement to almost every polish shade, and as a secret weapon that disguises a not-so-perfect DIY manicure. And worn solo, the lacquer is chic update to the multicolored, extreme glitter look you rocked back in middle school.

What are you waiting for? Better get glowing.

Nail Polish Tips: How to Get Model-Perfect Nails!

1) Make Fresh Paint!

Don’t waste that half-used bottle of red: “Combine two shades to create newer ones,” says celeb manicurist Myrdith Leon-McCormack. Grab last season’s leftover polish, pour another shade in it, add clear lacquer, too, then roll the bottle between your palms to blend.

2) Avoid Chips!

To make lacquer stay put, paint the tips, too. Do two thin coats of polish, then hold the brush vertically and swipe the color along the nail’s edge. “And don’t skimp,” says celeb manicurist Deborah Lippmann. “Always apply a base coat, two layers of polish, and a topcoat.”

3) Do Texture!

“Put sequins on top of polish while it’s wet, then finish with a topcoat,” Lippmann suggests. Or try a glitter-flecked color. For a girly look, cover your nails with lace, says nail pro Dana Caruso.

4) Try a Bold French Mani!

Instead of pink and white, “do brighter color combos,” says nail pro Kim D’Amato. One cool idea pictured here: a blue base like Nicole by OPI Nail Lacquer in Party in the Penthouse, paired with wild orange tips in Mango Maven ($8 each, Target).

5) Keep it Neutral!

Flesh-toned polish “makes your hands look elongated,” says nail guru Mike Potter. Try a pinky nude if you have a fair or medium skin tone. Stick with rich, earthy nudes if your skin is dark.

Katy Perry posts picture of her interesting nail art on Twitter!

Katy Perry has modeled some wacky nail designs in the past.

But we reckon kooky songstress Katy Perry’s latest creation may be the most outrageous yet.

Russell Brand’s fiance, who has previously plastered pictures of the comedian on the end of her fingers, took to her Twitter page to show off her newest set of nails – nude pointy talons with black lace extensions.

Katy, who matched them with her black lace tights for the photo, tweeted: “Glove tip lace nails anyone?”

The I Kissed A Girl songstress is bang on trend with her lace finger decorations – and with rumours rife that she and Russell are set to tie the knot this weekend, we’re wondering whether these could in fact be the singer’s bridal nails.

Reports suggest that the pair’s long-awaited nuptials could take place in India in the next few days, with some of their close friends being spotted making their way in that direction.
