Get The Look: Mila Kunis Steel Eye Shadow

InStyle Celebrity Beauty Tip:

Mila Kunis’s character in Oz: The Great and Powerful may be wicked, but we’d never know judging from the delicate nude lip and silver shadow she wore to the film’s London premiere. Drawing inspiration from her dress, the star’s makeup artist Tracey Levy picked up a metallic eye shadow that almost tipped to purple to give her look a feminine edge. “I chose a grayish lavender that works beautifully with her green eyes,” said Levy, who used Laura Mercier products. “It has a bit of silver, but the warmth from the lavender makes the color a little different.” Often times, chromatic shadows like Kunis’s look gorgeous in the pan, but fall flat when swept across your lids. The key to bringing out the dynamic shimmer is to start with a good eye shadow primer. In addition to keeping your shadow from creasing, the smooth base gives it a place to adhere and makes the color appear more pigmented. Applying the shadow in a sweeping motion increases fallout, causing the glitters to stick to your face instead of your eyes. Make sure to press the color onto your lids, then blend out any harsh edges using a dome-tipped shadow brush.

Get The Look: Mila Kunis In Laura Mercier at the London Premiere of “OZ The Great and Powerful”

Mila Kunis “OZ the Great and Powerful” London Premiere
February 28, 2013
Look by Tracey Levy for Laura Mercier

Makeup artist Tracey Levy created a “modern and sexy” makeup look for Kunis, who stars in the upcoming movie, “OZ the Great and Powerful.” Levy noted that for this premiere, Kunis turned to a soft, sexy Alexander McQueen evening gown “with a bit of mystery.” Levy noted that she and Kunis were both pleased with the final look, which she described as “so sexy, while yet so feminine.”

FLAWLESS FACE:

  • As soon as Kunis stepped out of the shower, Levy prepped her skin with RéVive Intensité Moisture Serum Extrême ($350) to restore the skin’s natural moisture, followed by Laura Mercier Foundation Primer ($32) to ensure her makeup looked fresh through the entire evening.
  • She then applied Laura Mercier Oil-Free Suprême Foundation in Sunny Beige ($43) to even Kunis’ skin. She applied “a touch” of Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage in SC-3 ($30) around Kunis’ nose and under her eyes to conceal minor imperfections.
  • Next, she dusted Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder in Universal ($35) onto the skin to set the look. Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Powder #2 ($22) set the under-eye area.
  • Levy then contoured Kunis’ cheekbones using Laura Mercier Bronzing Powder in Golden Bronze ($32) and dusted the powder onto her neck and chest to give her a glow from head-to-toe.
  • She used Laura Mercier Shimmer Bloc in Peach Mosaic ($40) to highlight the star’s upper cheekbones.
  • Lastly, she applied Laura Mercier Crème Cheek Colour in Praline ($24) onto the upper apples of Kunis’ cheeks and blended the shade with the existing shimmer.

“SOFT GREY LAVENDER SMOKY” EYES:

  • Levy applied Laura Mercier Eye Canvas in EC-2 ($26) to ensure that Kunis’ eye makeup would last throughout the entire evening.
  • Next, she lightly dabbed Laura Mercier Baked Eye Colour in Silver ($23) onto the middle of Kunis’ lid to add a highlighting effect.
  • Then she smudged Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Amethyst ($24) into the crease and along the top and bottom lashlines.
  • To add depth, Levy then used Laura Mercier Crème Eye Liner in Noir ($22) to line Kunis’ eyes. She also applied Laura Mercier Tightline Cake Eye liner in Black Ebony ($23) along the water line.
  • Next, she filled in Kunis’ eyebrows using Laura Mercier Eye Brow Pencil in Deep Blonde ($20) and set them with Laura Mercier Eye Brow Gel ($20).
  • Levy finished the eyes by applying two generous coats of Laura Mercier Faux Lash Mascara ($24) to Kunis’ top and bottom lashes.

NUDE LIPS:

  • Levy lightly lined Kunis’ lips using Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Naked ($22).
  • To complete the look, she lightly applied Laura Mercier Sheer Lip Colour in Nude Lips ($22) using her finger.

The gorgeous Mila Kunis lands the April cover of Marie Claire UK

Mila Kunis lands the April issue of Marie Claire UK, and she looks absolutely gorgeous! Mila is promoting her new movie, ‘OZ the Great and Powerful.’

The magazine hasn’t released much yet, as far as the interview goes, just a few clips. She does talk about wanting to cut back on work at some point. Maybe when she and Ashton start making babies.

On fame: “To say my life hasn’t changed would be a lie. It has changed, I don’t really know how. I can’t complain, not that I am complaining, but I can’t leave my house as freely as I used to. But I’ve also travelled a lot for work, so that’s changed. I have been very lucky.”

On recovering from near blindness: “I have [one] glass lens. It’s very dramatic. I had it fixed. I did it three years ago maybe four. It’s not that big a deal.”

Does she censor herself? “Lately, more. More. But I’ve always said that it is much easier to be honest than to be caught up in a bunch of lies. At least this way, you know who you are.”

Looking towards the future: “I don’t think I can do this three-movies-a-year thing. It’s too much. There comes a point in your life where you want to be….home. I want to explore other parts of this industry to see what aspects of it I can get myself into, so that I can… work out of home maybe. Like producing. Then I can have, like, a life, in one location.”

I love the pictures that go with this interview. The one below with the rose is beautiful. Her eyes are so beautiful!

The beautiful Mila Kunis covers the March issue of Elle Magazine!

Mila Kunis lands the March cover of Elle Magazine, and the actress looks beautiful in the accompanying photo shoot! The actress has a new movie coming out in March, ‘OZ: The Great and Powerful’, and I’m really hoping the movie doesn’t suck. It looks really interesting, but previews can be deceiving (case in point: “Identity Thief” – but I’ll talk about that a bit later).

New! Urban Decay OZ the Great and Powerful Palettes

Here are some highlights from the interview:

Being single after dating Macaulay Culkin: “For four years I was single. An amazing time. An amazing time. I love being single.”

When she was shown a photo of Ashton Kutcher: “I didn’t think this was going to be about my friends. Happily about myself! Not about who my friends are, who I’m dating, or who I may have ever dated. That’s not talking about myself!”

On privacy and the paparazzi: “You can look (online) and see what Starbucks I go to. You can look and see what gym I go to. You can go online and look at my daily activities. And they have no concept of what kind of danger that puts people in. … You’re constantly worried that something’s going to get out that’s going to put your life in danger or your loved ones.”

On weight loss for Black Swan: “Unfortunately, the only way I could play a ballerina was to look like a ballerina . . . fit and bony.”

On on-screen nudity: “I showed side boob. I don’t need to show a–. You get one or the other. You don’t get both,” she said as she smirked.

I wonder if she was asked about dating Macaulay Culkin – and she didn’t answer – or if they just asked her what it was like AFTER dating him. I find it hard to believe they didn’t go for some quote on his rumored serious drug problems, and that being the cause of their breakup. I wish she would have said something about dating Ashton. Enough already! Spill the beans!

Michelle Williams shares the cover of InStyle Magazine with Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz

Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis and Rachel Weisz land the latest cover of InStyle Magazine. The actresses are promoting their new movie, ‘Oz the Great and Powerful’. I have high hopes for this movie, I hope it’s as good as the preview looks!

InStyle hasn’t released anything from the interview yet, so until then…enjoy this sneak peek!

Esquire names Mila Kunis the Sexiest Woman Alive 2012!

Esquire Magazine has named Mila Kunis the Sexiest Woman Alive of 2012. The actress is determined not to let the title get to her ego.

Mila appears in the November issue wearing little to no clothes. The 29-year-old actress told the magazine that she tries not to take being desired too seriously. “What I do and who I am are two different things. And they always will be. What happens with people is they lose sight of who they are, and they become either who they want to be or who they are perceived to be.  But whatever it is, it is no longer who they are. So much of who you are in this industry is based on what that critic says, what that director says, what that actor says. People start believing all that, and they become what everybody else wants them to be. And I think that I’ve consciously separated my two lives.”

Mila is currently dating her former ‘That ’70s Show’ co-star Ashton Kutcher. She goes on to admit that while she’s lusted after on the job, she tries to remain normal in her real life.  ”I love what I do. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else. But when I’m done with work, I’m done with work. I think that if I bought into the hype, I would lose all sight of who I am, and so much of who I am is what my parents went through and instilled in me. And I never want to lose that. Ever. Because I would be so disappointed if I didn’t make them proud.”

She told the magazine about her following of political happenings: ‘I find it all to be incredibly entertaining. I went to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner with Wolf Blitzer. It’s weird: You get invited by people you don’t know–and I never wanna go again, because I had the most incredible experience. Ever.

‘I watch CNN or MSNBC all day long, every day. So I meet with Wolf, and I was like, “Oh, my God. There’s Wolf Blitzer.” Like two drinks in, I just start talking. “So, about Ahmadinejad‘s nephew …” Wolf was surprised I followed politics.’

FIRST LOOK: Mila Kunis’ second Dior campaign!

Mila Kunis is back for a second Dior campaign! The new ads promote the Miss Dior handbag, and Mila fits the part perfectly!

The black-and-white spots, photographed in Los Angeles by Mario Sorrenti with styling by Carine Roitfeld, depict Kunis as the kind of woman accustomed to attention from throngs of paparazzi, and to smoldering in front of the camera. The young actress, who won wide acclaim for her turn in 2010’s “Black Swan,” is currently on screens in the Seth MacFarlane comedy “Ted.”

The worldwide campaign for Dior is to make its debut in the August issue of Elle Hong Kong on July 21, followed by a range of September issues, including Bazaar and Tatler in the U.K., Vanity Fair in the U.S. and Vogue Paris in France. Dior also plans to unveil the images, along with behind-the-scenes imagery and mini film, on its Miss Dior Web site as of Wednesday.

Love the new ads!
