What’s in Leighton Meester’s makeup bag?

As an A-list star, one would imagine that Leighton Meester has easy access to just about every beauty product on the market. But it sounds like the Gossip Girl star prefers to keep her shelves pretty clear.

“My makeup bag is so minimal it’s embarrassing,” she tells bellaSugar.com. When she find something she likes, she sticks with it, no matter how basic.“I like L’Oréal mascara, I like eyelash curlers, I like a little bit of tinted moisturizer,” she adds.

But one of the most important lessons she’s learned from her time spent in the makeup chair is less about using product — and more about keeping her skin clean.

“One of the best makeup tips I’ve ever gotten is to take off all your makeup because I’m generally really bad at that,” she admits. “That’s really saved my skin. But besides that I think just really being hydrated and being healthy. I think whatever’s on the inside shows on the outside, so it’s not as much about makeup as it is your health.”

Inside Kim Kardashian’s $150,000 Wedding Beauty Prep

The price of beauty!

Kim Kardashian looked flawless at her Saturday nuptials to Kris Humphries, but getting that glammed up didn’t come cheap. The reality star indulged in $150,000 worth of grooming services, albeit free, to get ready for her big day.

The 30-year-old bride got VIP treatment with a late-night brow touch-up hours before she walked down the aisle. Kardashian tweeted a pic of brow pro Anastasia cleaning up her arches in her hotel room at 11:30 p.m.

“She has such beautiful eyes and lashes so I used high arch from my kit, brunette powder to fill in certain areas, and caramel tinted brow gel to make her eyes stand out,” Anastasia told Us Weekly.

As for her wedding-day makeup, the E! megstar enlisted celebrity makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic to recreate her signature look: smoky eyes, full brows, pink blush and glossy pink lips. The only over-the-top touch: what appeared to be several sets of false lashes.

“I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be a part of such an important and special day in Kim’s life,” Dedivanovic wrote on his blog August 4. “I’ve envisioned what she would look like as a bride ever since I began working with her and I finally get to bring that vision of beauty to life!

And although she had lightened up her brunette locks in July, Kardashian returned to L.A.’s Goodform Salon weeks before her big day to go back to her darker roots. A source tells Us that she opted for a glossy, semi-permanent glaze that was close to her natural color: a minky brown.

Are Scarlett Johansson’s new Dolce & Gabbana ads overly-photoshopped?

Scarlett Johansson, who is the face of Dolce & Gabbana makeup, poses in these new makeup ads – and it’s leaving many to wonder how photoshopped they really are!

Between dealing with post-divorce fallout and trying out every beauty look under the sun, Scarlett Johansson still has time to pose for Dolce & Gabbana Makeup ads.

As the brand’s spokesmodel since early 2009, Scarlett just debuted her latest campaign promoting Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall/Winter 2011 “Sweet Temptations” line of cosmetics. And the results are… iffy.

Scarlett is undeniably a beautiful actress and always looks lovely in the ads. But we’ve noticed time and again how over-Photoshopped she appears in the hands of Dolce & Gabbana’s retouchers — in last August’s ads, a black-lipsticked Scarlett was virtually unrecognizable and her summer ads from April made her look like a china doll (albeit, a very pretty china doll).

What do you think? Are they too photoshopped?

New Natalie Portman ad for Diorskin!

According to Harper’s Bazaar UK, this is a new Dior ad featuring Oscar winner Natalie Portman.

In the new ad, the actress shows off her photoshopped flawless complexion for Diorskin Forever.

Portman, also the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume, presumably severed ties with the fashion house and its cosmetics line back in March, after its head designer John Galliano’s “I love Hitler” rant surfaced.

At the time, she told the New York Times, “I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way.”

The newspaper added, “it was not known how Ms. Portman’s contract with Dior might be affected” — making it all the more interesting that this new image was released.
