New Natalie Portman ad for Diorskin!

According to Harper’s Bazaar UK, this is a new Dior ad featuring Oscar winner Natalie Portman.

In the new ad, the actress shows off her photoshopped flawless complexion for Diorskin Forever.

Portman, also the face of Miss Dior Cherie perfume, presumably severed ties with the fashion house and its cosmetics line back in March, after its head designer John Galliano’s “I love Hitler” rant surfaced.

At the time, she told the New York Times, “I am deeply shocked and disgusted by the video of John Galliano’s comments that surfaced today. In light of this video, and as an individual who is proud to be Jewish, I will not be associated with Mr. Galliano in any way.”

The newspaper added, “it was not known how Ms. Portman’s contract with Dior might be affected” — making it all the more interesting that this new image was released.

When is the right age to start wearing makeup?

What is the Appropriate Age to Wear Makeup?

From Womens Healthcare Topics

Do you remember dressing up in your mom’s high heels? Putting on her dress? How about wearing her red lipstick and blue eye shadow? We live in a society that influences little girls to grow up fast. For a young lady, wearing makeup is often seen as a rite of passage to becoming a woman. The question is: At what age is it appropriate to wear makeup? What is the appropriate amount of makeup and what colors are best?

There is no “right” age to start wearing makeup. Some girls begin wearing minimal makeup at age 11, such as lipstick or eye shadow. Parents of young girls display controversy on the issue. Some parents are more conservative in their views stating that kids do not get to be kids anymore. More and more young girls are being influenced by music and the media to look, dress and act a certain way. You can find just about any cosmetic product in glitter: nail polishes, lotions, lip gloss, eye makeup, and bikinis are targeting girls ages 6-12.

Some psychologist state that wearing makeup at an early age leads to increased interest from males. Some believe it is sending a message that says you are mature and possibly interested in being in a physical relationship. Makeup changes the perceptions of the face to be similar to that of a mature woman.

You may have heard the famous words, “Everyone’s wearing it in school,” and “It’s not fair.” It is important to question why she truly wants to wear makeup. If it is because everyone else is doing it or so guys will notice her, these are dangerous signals. How you feel about her wearing makeup sets a precedent for everything else she does. Allowing a young girl to wear makeup sooner than when you feel she is ready, may send the message that she can partake in other “adult-like” activities sooner than she is ready for them.

It is an inevitable fact that young girls are going to want to wear makeup at some point in their life. It is essential at the onset of wearing of makeup that clear boundaries are set on what types of makeup and the amount being worn is determined. How much makeup is too much? It is best when staring out, to keep the makeup subtle.

Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin Are the New Faces of MAC’s Viva Glam

MAC Cosmetics have announced that two new faces will be following in the footsteps of Lady Gaga and Cyndi Lauper for the Viva Glam campaign in 2012.

Nicki Minaj and Ricky Martin will represent the campaign from February next year. The fund has already raised $224 million dollars and the makeup brand hopes to continue its fundraising success with the help of their new celebrity spokespeople.

This is not the first time the two have worked together. Last year, the Young Money raptress teamed up with M.A.C to release a limited edition “Pink 4 Friday” lipstick that flew off the shelves and sold out.

Minaj and Martin are shooting the new advert today with David LaChapelle; we can’t wait to see the results!

Bethenny Frankel launching a skincare line!

Bethenny Frankel is expanding her ‘Skinnygirl’ brand!

The reality star – turned cocktail maker is going to launch her own beauty and skincare lines, with products that will deliver results without giving false hope.

“A $150 eye cream is ridiculous and absurd,” she told Women’s Wear Daily. “[Promises like] ‘you’re going to look like Heidi Klum in two days’ or ‘like you had a face-lift’ have always bothered me.”

The products are organized into four groups: lip treatments, face products, body potions and gift sets.

“I don’t want people to think in three days they’ll have no cellulite. That’s not going to happen,” she said.

Frankel’s Skinnygirl Face & Body Solutions will hit Wal-Mart shelves in November.

She said that she owes her good skin to using good products, not the priciest.

“I finally have good skin because I am consistent. I don’t worry about brands. I do buy brands that are not expensive, ones that don’t spend all the money on the packaging but on the ingredients inside.”

For fans of her low-calorie booze, there’s a product for you. Her bath gift sets smell like her Skinnygirl Margarita and Sangria.

It’ll be interesting to see how this line really works. The fact that they will make their debut at Wal-Mart makes me pause, not gonna lie.
