2014 MTV Video Music Awards - Red Carpet

mark. Brand Ambassador Lucy Hale hosted the MTV VMA pre show last night. Check out how to get her makeup look from celebrity Makeup Artist Kelsey Deenihan. All mark. products are available on meetmark.com.

Face:
To start I applied La prairie Cellular creme platinum rare ultimate rejuvenating cream all over Lucy’s face followed by Armani luminous silk foundation in #6 for a flawless base. Next I set the base with mark. Great Finish Pressed Perfecting Powder in Light. After the face was set I applied mark. Glowdacious Illuminating Powder in Amped Up. The darker slightly shimmer powder works great as a contour and adds subtle color to Lucy’s cheeks. I finished the cheeks with mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Cubes to really catch the light and illuminate the cheek bones.

Eyes:
Lucy’s eye shadow is a mixture of shadows in the middle row of the mark. On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact. I used the darkest shade in the outer corners and went gradually lighter toward the inner eyes. Bringing a darker shadow to the outer corners elongates the eye giving them an almond shape. Underneath the eye I smudged the same darker shadow from the mark. compact (middle row far right) starting thicker on the outer corners and lightly blending inward toward the inner corners of the eyes. I added mark. No Place to Run Waterproof Eyeliner in Jet Set (black). To the top and bottom water lines. This is the best liner for the water lines Since its waterproof and won’t budge! I finished the eyes with a couple generous coats of mark. Lash Act Mascara in Blackest Black.

Get The Look from Lucy Hale’s Music Video from Celebrity Makeup Artist Kelsey Deenihan:

Celebrity Makeup Artist Kelsey Deenihan created fresh, effortless beauty look for Lucy Hale in her first-ever music video, which debuted tonight on the season premiere of Pretty Little Liars.

“To achieve the effortless look I kept the palette very monochromatic sticking to all peachy nudes,” Kelsey Deenihan said.

Face: I started by prepping the skin with Murad Hydrodynamic Moisturizer all over Lucy’s face and neck and then applying Armani Luminous Silk Foundation in a mixture of shade 5 and 5.5. By applying the base directly after moisturizer it allows the foundation to mix with the moisturizer and create a sheer coverage. The sheer fresh coverage is what we wanted since we’re not going for an over the top glamours look.

Cheeks: On Lucy’s cheeks I applied Mark. Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in both Nude and Peachy to add a bit of a flush to the skin. I applied the tint straight from the stick to the cheeks and then blended where needed with my finger. To add some additional glow to the cheeks I used the Mark. That’s Brilliant Face and Eye Illuminator on the cheekbones. This product comes with its own brush, however, I squeezed some of the illuminator onto the back of my hand and dipped a sponge in it to apply it to Lucy’s cheekbones. By dabbing onto the cheeks with a sponge I was able to place the product on top of the blush tint and not move around any existing color.

Eyes: I filled in Lucy’s already full brows with Votre Vu Arch de Triumph eyebrow definer in Warm. I wanted to give them a bold shape to really frame her eyes. Staying with the neutral colors, I used Mark. On the Dot Neutral Eye Color Compact for Lucy’s eyes. I used the bottom three colors of the palette and blended the metallic colors together. I started with the bottom right color all over the lids and crease and then went back in with the bottom middle and left colors in the outer corners and crease to add definition to the eyes. I placed Mark. No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Foxy Brown on the top and bottom lash line and blended it with a small dome brush to avoid any harsh lines. I topped off the eyes with Mark. Scanda Lash Mascara in Black on both the top and bottom lashes.

Lips: Lucy’s lips were very natural for this look but I wanted to give them a small hint of color. I used Mark. Make it Rich Lip Color Crayon in Punch and applied it very lightly to give just a little tint to her natural lips. No gloss or liner were used to avoid looking to dolled up for this day out in the country.

Face & Cheeks:

”I began by applying mark Get a Tint Tinted Moisturizer Lotion SPF 15 all over Lucy’s face to create a warm, subtle glow. Next, I dusted mark Just Blushing Powder Blush in Darling onto the apples of her cheeks and blended upward to create some contouring.”

Eyes:

“I applied mark On the Dot Smokey Eye Color Compact in the lightest shade on Lucy’s lids and up to her brow bones. Next, I ran the bright blue shade from the outer corners of her eyes to the middles of her lids and blended. Then, I swept the medium green along the creases of her eyes and dotted at the inner corners of her eyes for a brightening effect. I applied mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Jet Set along her lower lash lines and smudged mark On the Dot Smokey Eye Color Compact in the bright blue around her bottom lash lines. I finished the look with two coats of mark Scanda-Lash Go-To Mascara in Blackest Black.”
