Review: L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Foundation #VLBlurfection

AndieFullSize_06182014165632

Ok I will admit I’m a foundation snob. I have always felt with foundation you get what you pay for and if you go cheap its going to wreck your skin or simply not work. So when I was asked to review the new L’Oréal Paris Visible Lift Blur Foundation I might have had some preconceived notions about how it would work.

After my first use I realized I was very wrong thinking you had to break the bank to get a great foundation. The word Blur might make you think heavy, silicone like foundations but this is a very lightweight foundation. It felt incredibly light on my skin and left my skin feeling hydrated and smooth.  I love how it made my pores nearly disappear and evened out my skin tone. Just a pea sized amount it enough to perfect my skin and I finish with a setting powder. A great foundation and under $15, I can’t wait to check out more from the L’Oréal Paris Blur line!

Today is Melanoma Monday, are you protecting your skin? Prevention Tips and My Favorite Sunscreen products

Melanoma Monday Prevention Tips

In an effort to increase awareness of melanoma and other types of skin cancer, the American Academy of Dermatology has designated the first Monday in May as Melanoma Monday. According to the AAD, melanoma is the deadliest form of skin cancer and the most common cancer for 25-to 29-year-olds. Most people know the importance of sunscreen and what it can mean for skincare and sun safety, but products still end up being misused, leaving many at risk for permanent skin damage and skin aging. Below is a list of five sunscreen mistakes to avoid at all costs.
1. Thinking you’re exempt from sunscreen because you have dark or olive skin.
2. Not applying sunblock often enough.
3. Neglecting to wear sunscreen while driving or working indoors.
4. Using a sunscreen that blocks only UVB rays.
5. Using a sunscreen that has expired.
To keep skin protected, La Roche-Posay Anthelios offers sunscreens which block both UVA and UVB rays. And always remember… apply and re-apply!
