François Nars’s makeup can be described as dramatic, but his limited-edition Bento Box lipstick set takes the concept literally. Inspired by a porcelain pot of lip stain used for kabuki actors that Nars found in Japan 10 years ago, the set of two cups of hand-poured color comes in a handsome wooden box with a wisteria-handled lip brush. “I’ve always been fascinated with the concept of kabuki makeup,” Nars says. “It’s about symbolism and using color to create drama.” The lipstick application is as seductive as its presentation. “You dip the brush into the cup, around the perimeter, to pick up product, and simply paint,” he says. “It’s a beautiful process.” Unless you want to look like a Japanese theater character, however, Nars recommends using a little restraint: “It’s highly pigmented, so I suggest starting out light and building for desired intensity. In 1986 Lisa Rinna had her lips injected with silicone. After years of being ridiculed for her upper lip (see above pic), she decided to do something about it, and have a lip reduction! “My lips started to define who I am,” Rinna, 47, tells PEOPLE about why she decided to undergo the procedure. “That bothered me.”

Rinna, didn’t acknowledge for many years that she had any work done at all. When she finally did come clean, people were harder on her. “I took a big hit for being honest. It gave everyone online permission to lambaste me. It hurt my feelings.”

“It doesn’t matter what other people think,” she says. “I did it for myself.”

As a result of the procedure, she says, rather than feeling “bumpy and uneven … my lip has no lumps! It’s smooth.”

But her mouth is still swollen from the procedure and will require six months to heal fully. “It’s a work in progress,” admits Rinna, “but I feel fantastic.”

I don’t think her lips seem much different at all, but maybe after the six months they’ll look different!
