America Ferrera wears Lancôme

88158_america_ferrera_122_445lo.jpg

Celebrity makeup artist Vanessa Scali created the look for America Ferrera at the Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday night. We’ve got the scoop, straight from Vanessa, on how to re-create America’s glamorous look.

First, before applying any makeup, Vanessa prepped the skin with Lancôme Genifique, a youth activating concentrate that improves tone, texture and luminosity giving the skin a natural glow. To create a flawless complexion, Vanessa used both Lancôme Effacernes concealer and Armani Lasting Silk UV SPF 20 Foundation. She used Armani Fluid Sheer #2 as a highlighter and applied it with her finger to the cheekbone and brow bone. This gave the complexion a bit of added shimmer. Lancôme Color Design Cream Blush in Pret a Plum was applied to the apples of the cheeks for just a pop of color. Shu Uemura Cream Eye Shadow in Beige was lightly dusted on the eyelid and Lancôme Artliner in Noir was applied to the upper lash line. Several coats of Lancôme Ôscillation mascara were applied to the lashes for added length and volume. To compliment America’s pinky/coral frock, Lancôme La Laque Fever gloss in Cyber Coral and Techno Brick were mixed together to create a high-shine pout.

sandy_lancome.jpg

Good morning, everyone. We wanted to let you know about the latest contest on The Lancôme Blog. It’s a mini-makeover with Sandy Linter, the celebrity makeup artist and Lancôme Beauty at Every Age expert.

If you post a question for Sandy on the blog, you’ll be entered into the Sandy makeover contest. The winner will get 15 minutes on the phone with Sandy during which she’ll give specific advice, tips and tricks. Then, Sandy will pick the 10 Lancôme products she thinks are perfect for that person and we’ll have the products delivered right to the winner’s doorstep.

The Sandy questions won’t go to waste. We’ll have Sandy answer them in a future post.

Here is the link. The contest ends Friday night.

Sandy, as you know, is an industry icon. She’s worked on more celebrities and supermodels than any artist around. She was recently awarded an Elle Genius Award (check out the April issue of Elle!) and there’s a great interview with her in the April Allure that’s part of the gorgeous “Coming of Age” story featuring Cindy Crawford.

Lancome Introduces a new spokesmodel!

Arlenis Sosa, the Fashion World’s Newest Supermodel, Joins the Lancôme Family

The Cinderella story of Arlenis Sosa continues as the fledgling supermodel has joined Lancôme as a spokesperson. Ms. Sosa, 19, who comes from the Dominican Republic, was discovered earlier this year and immediately began working with the likes of Steven Meisel and Craig McDean for American Vogue, Italian Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar and other top fashion publications.

“Arlenis possesses beauty, intelligence, charm and compassion,” says Lancôme President Odile Roujol. “All of our brand ambassadors share these attributes, so we knew she would be a wonderful addition. We are very proud to welcome her to the Lancôme family.”

Ms. Sosa’s fellow spokespeople include Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Juliette Binoche, Clive Owen, Daria Werbowy, Laura Morante, Selena Breed, Elettra Rossellini Wiedemann and Inès Sastre. Advertising featuring Arlenis will appear in 2009.

“I feel so honored and lucky,” says Ms. Sosa. “Lancôme is an amazing brand so this is a dream come true.”

Ms. Sosa was a student majoring in communications and doing charitable work with her church on behalf of those living with diabetes when a local designer spotted her and sent her photo to a friend at the Marilyn Agency in New York. She flew to the city–her first time out of the Dominican Republic–and the agency signed her on the spot. At 5’11, with sparkling eyes and one of the most beautiful smiles in the industry, Ms. Sosa quickly captivated editors and photographers alike. She will make her catwalk debut during New York’s Spring 2009 Fashion Week and will appear on the runways of more than a dozen designers, including Oscar de la Renta, Donna Karan, Carolina Herrera, Proenza Schouler, Zac Posen, Narciso Rodriguez, Anna Sui, Tommy Hilfiger, Peter Som and Rag & Bone.
