3 Steps to Gorgeous Curls!

Fall is almost here, which means beautiful crisp weather with little humidity.. translation: Let the great hair days begin! In the summer, it’s always too hot to do any kind of heat styling to your hair and such a waste of time if you’re swimming or doing any kind of outdoor activities. But now with this great fall weather, there aren’t any excuses to have a bad hair day. Get voluminous curls like Selena Gomez.

Love this!!!! Perfection in a pre treatment thermal spray. I love that is protects my hair without weighing it down or leaving it stringy. This is a must have before using my curling iron.

First spray a generous amount of Philip B. Oud Royal Thermal Protection Spray on damp or dry hair. This thermal spray will elevate shine and prevent breakage and split ends as you style, while also adding a light, seductive scent.

If you’re looking for a great and affordable curling iron check out the John Frieda  Volume Curls 1½ inch Barrel curling iron. It’s a user friendly and creates big, beautiful curls.  I love how fast it heats up, just 30 seconds and I can start curling my hair. With variable temps I can set the iron low or high depending on how tight I want the curls.

The twist free cord, and cool tip make it very user friendly. The smooth clips means it doesn’t get stuck in my hair or pulls.  Smooth frizz free curls  and waves that last all day.  A great iron if you are looking for big loose curls or waves.

Next, take your John Frieda by Conair Volume Curls 1 ½ inch Curling Iron and begin sectioning off hair, starting with the bottom layers. Curl hair away from your face to create more volume. For an uneven, messy look, curl randomly starting at different areas on each section.

I have such a tough time finding a hair spray that works with my tempermental hair. Either it doesn’t hold the curl or it leaves it crunchy and stray like. Finally a hair spray made for my crazy hair. I  spritz  a light coat and comb through before using my curling iron. Then once I have style it finish with a quick spray. My hair stays soft and bouncy and my curls last all day.

Finish off with a light spray of KMS HAIRSTAY medium hold spray to lock in the style while allowing flexibility and movement to your hair.

Ditch The Styling Tools and Embrace Your Natural Curls!

The weather is warm and summer is still in full swing. For all the natural curly haired girls out there its the time of year to embrace those curls and use the warm summer air to your hair’s advantage and put your styling tools away.

Summertime and naturally curly hair means lots of dryness. After showering I used  KMS California CURLUP leave-in conditioner, just a small amount and my hair was left soft and very easy to comb through. I have very fine hair so found I needed to use just a tiny drop to hydrate my hair.

I used KMS California CURLUP perfecting lotion on my damp hair and scrunched up into my curls then let my hair air dry. My curls were soft, shiny and very hydrated.  This left a much softer less tight curl then some of my other products. I loved that it left a loose, wavy curl and how soft my hair was. Definitely will be using this combo to beat the heat and styling tools for the rest of this heat wave.

Get The Look: Katy Perry at the 2013 Grammy Awards

Katy Perry stunned in an old Hollywood-inspired makeup look created for her by makeup artist Jake Bailey using products from Rimmel London. Perry was a nominee and a presenter at the Awards, which were held on Sunday evening, February 10th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

Bailey defined Perry’s lash line with Rimmel London ScandalEyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in black. Bailey then used Rimmel London’s Glam’Eyes Eyeshadow Trio in “Orion” to contour Perry’s eyes. Bailey highlighted Katy’s eyelid and brow bone with Rimmel London’s ScandalEyes Shadow Stick in “Bulletproof Beige,” and finished the eyes with a rich coat of Rimmel London’s ScandalEyes Mascara in Black.

Bailey perfected Perry’s skin by mixing 1/3 Rimmel London BB Cream in Light with 2/3 Match Perfection Foundation in Nude to create a base. “The BB Cream sheers the foundation out and gives it a little glow,” said Bailey. Bailey then warmed Perry’s complexion with a dusting of Rimmel London’s Lasting Finish Soft Colour Mono Blush in “Pink Rose” on the apples of Perry’s cheeks.

Bailey completed the look by lining Perry’s lips with Rimmel London Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Lipliner in Natural, and applying a coat of Rimmel London Lasting Finish Lipstick in “Crush.”

For Katy’s look, Renato was inspired by a 50s pin-up glam girl, with shiny, voluminous hair. To get her look, Renato first applied KMS California ADDVOLUME® styling foam to wet hair. Then, he blew it out using a large round brush to create volume. Next, Renato parted her hair down the middle and applied KMS California FREESHAPE® hot flex spray to ensure the style would last all night. Then, he used a 1 ½ inch curling iron to smooth the hair and create texture. To seal the look, Renato added a drop of KMS California SILKSHEEN® polishing serum. Renato really brought the pin-up girl to life with Katy’s gorgeous, shiny hair, spraying it with KMS California HAIRPLAY® dry touch-up for instant, weightless surface conditioning.
