Get the Look: Katy Perry Pretty in Pink at the 2011 AMA’s

Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Renato Campora Created A High-Fashion Sophisticated Up-Do for Katy Perry at 39th Annual American Music Awards

INSPIRATION: A very sculpted, modern take on a French twist. Renato was inspired for this look after seeing Katy’s red carpet dress. The look was elegant and sophisticated but also innovative.

How To Get the Look: Renato began by applying Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel to wet hair in order to give it a firm base. He then blow-dried the hair while brushing it through with a flat brush. He used a one-inch curling iron throughout the hair to create body while giving it a sturdy foundation. Renato then heavily teased the hair. To create the final up-do, he pushed the front of the hair forward and wrapped the rest into a French twist, securing it with hairpins. To complete the look, Renato added an accessory made by Vivienne Westwood by weaving it into the hair with his fingers. He secured the look by spraying the hair with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray.

All products by Fekkai: Fekkai Bouffant Lifting and Texturizing Spray Gel ($25), and Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray ($25). Available at Fekkai.com and Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue stores.

Katy Perry launching a new fragrance!!

Katy Perry is launching a second fragrance, in honor of her fans, the “Katycats”. The new fragrance will be called “Meow”. Her debut fragrance was called “Purr”.

Perry announced the new scent Wednesday (October 12) on Twitter, calling it the “bestie” to Purr and promising that Meow will be “very sweet & inspired by that magical place, CANDYFORNIA!”

So, will it smell like cotton candy and sun-tan lotion? On Tuesday, Perry asked her ‘Cats to predict the name of the fragrance, with 10 winners receiving the perfume and one lucky fan receiving an invite to the Meow launch event, set for December. As it turns out, a whole lot of folks seemed to guess correctly — though we did like some of the incorrect guesses, like “Catnip,” “Furrytail” and, uh, “Pussy Power.”

“Some of you guessed my sister perfume right!” she wrote. “I can’t wait to reveal her, she is so sweet!”

Meow follows on the heels of Perry’s successful Purr fragrance, which she debuted in July, wearing cat ears to the launch party in Toronto. Earlier, she had pulses pounding when she slipped into a body-hugging catsuit and posed provocatively with a giant pink ball of yarn in promotional ads for the perfume.

Perhaps Perry will use her upcoming video, for new single “The One That Got Away,” as a platform to give fans a sneak peek at the packaging for the fragrance.

Check out Katy Perry’s new Snow White inspired ads!

Katy Perry is the face of styling brand ghd, maker of straightening irons, curling irons and other hair products.

Perry’s latest shoot for the company’s Scarlet Collection — her first came back in April — debuted with Perry playing the part of Snow White and the apple-bearing Evil Queen (although the latter look more like Dita Von Teese than the craggy old villain we remember from the Disney movie).

Shot by David LaChapelle, the pics are quintessentially Katy, with all the sass and dramatic makeup you’d expect from the star.

What do you think of her new ads? Love them or hate them?

Check out Katy Perry’s pink-haired InStyle cover!

Katy Perry is InStyle’s October 2011 cover girl! The pink-haired singer opens up to the magazine about her feisty side!

“I’m not going to sit and be steamrolled,” she says. “I am full of unicorns and Care Bears 99 percent of the time, but don’t open Pandora’s Box of that other 1 percent — because it’s there!” She also divulges on details about her tour makeup process, “I ordered a special chair from the dentist so I can lie back and wake up looking like a million bucks — I call it my Sleeping Beauty makeup.”

Katy also chats about having kids (not yet, guys!) and clues fans in on her red carpet style: “I kind of use this inner dial: Either I turn it up or down.” No word on if she’s going to launch her own “Perry Pink” hair color line anytime soon.

Katy Perry’s personalized fingernails at last night’s VMA’s!

You may have noticed that Katy Perry wore custom Minx nails to the 2011 Video Music Awards last night as she accepted the Video of the Year award for her powerful single, “Firework.”   If you look closer at Katy’s Minx, however, you will notice that her nails had great significance.  Each nail shows a tiny personalized image of a record at the nail bed, symbolizing each of the five hit singles from her “Teenage Dream” album that propelled Katy into music history.

Los Angeles celebrity nail stylist Kimmie Kyees designed the custom Minx, using a black and white-checkered background to contrast with the blue and pink-labeled records that had “Katy” and “Perry” written on them in script.  Katy Perry is the only woman in the history of Billboard to have five songs from the same album at No. 1 on the Hot 100.  Michael Jackson is the only other artist to have achieved this.

Kimmie Kyees is the same nail stylist who applied the custom “Russell Brand” Minx to Katy Perry for her VMA appearance last year.  Minx nails is a solid nail coating that is available in salons and spas around the world.

For more information about Minx, please feel free to contact me or visit www.MinxNails.com.  For more information about Kimmie Kyees, visit www.kimmieknails.com.  Please feel free to use the attached two photos, with photo credit to Adam Orchon.

NEW PIC: Katy Perry has pink hair!!!

Even stars like Katy Perry need their junk food fix. The “California Girls” singer was spotted today buying several bags of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos at a gas station in Los Angeles. Looks like she and Britney Spears share a similar love for the cheesy snack.

The pink-haired pop sensation really turned heads though with her outfit — a barely-there summer dress emblazoned with flower decals. The ensemble left little to the imagination, as she narrowly avoided a wardrobe malfunction when the wind blew.

After her Cheetos run, Katy tweeted:

“Kitty 2012 Purry, I think Flaming Hot Cheetos could be turned into a natural energy source #FlamingHotKatyCat.”
