Kate Upton lands the cover of British Vogue!

Kate Upton lands the most prestigious cover of her career! The Sports Illustrated model is seen here on the cover of British Vogue!

The magazine’s editor, Alexandra Shulman, said she deliberately wanted to choose a “curvier” model for the New Year.

She said: ‘It’s very rare for a girl; to move from one area of the business to the other, largely due to the fact that fashion models are almost without curves, whereas swimwear girls are celebrated for them.

‘When I decided to shoot Kate for our first cover of 2013, it was to kick off the year with a young women who is not a stereotypical fashion model – although, let’s face it, she’s hardly a heffalump!’

On the cover, Kate is seen showcasing her hourglass figure in a white dress, which clings to her stunning figure.

Her blonde hair is left loose in tumbling curls, and her make-up simple to draw attention to her natural beauty.

Kate has enjoyed a huge career boost since she landed the prestigious cover role on the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue this year.

And the popularity of the pretty blonde star is largely down to her girl-next-door appearance and her enviable curves.

Speaking previously about her most famous assets, namely her large cleavage, Kate said: ‘I don’t really know what the appeal is about boobs. But I do know that when I was in junior high, I used to be made fun of — for being flat-chested.

‘Everyone would go, “She’s not pretty! She doesn’t have boobs!” So I always had boob envy. And when finally I went through my growth spurt, and they appeared, and I just loved them. So that’s why I like boobs, because I didn’t have them, and then I got them!’

Kate gets a lot of criticism for being too “curvy”. I’ve seen many comments about how she shouldn’t be considered a supermodel, based on her size. I think that’s totally crazy. I think she’s gorgeous, and she’s a good role model (size-wise) for girls.

Kate Upton shows off her curves in the new issue of Vogue Magazine!

Kate Upton shows off her curves in the November issue of Vogue Magazine. Curves that the’s very proud of, admitting she’s happy to be considered a role model for young women.

“I think it’s important to look at magazines and think a healthy lifestyle is attainable,” she told Vogue. “Now that the fashion industry likes the idea of me, I’m happy if I can have an influence.”

She claims she’s not interested in starving herself again. “I still want to hang out with my family and be a normal girl,” she added. “You have to be confident, and that doesn’t mean starving yourself.”

Her Vogue spread has a seven-page photo shoot by famed photographer Steven Meisel, which includes the 20-year-old bombshell blonde in swimsuit attire.

Earlier this year, Upton was criticized by an anonymous blogger on the website SkinnyGossip.com trashing the model for having “huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition.”

The blogger later apologized for the “intentionally outrageous” post, but said she was merely expressing her opinion about her preferred body type.

Upton received an avalanche of support after the controversy.

Her personal trainer, David Kirsch, told Vogue that he’s one of her biggest fans.

“I have trained a lot of models and celebrities, and let me tell you she is so determined and willing to do whatever it takes,” he told the glossy. “She’s incredibly smart and driven.”

She looks beautiful! Love the pics!

Pro-anorexia site calls Kate Upton “vulgar”

She’s disgusting, isn’t she.

Kate Upton has been called many things, and now we can add “vulgar” to the list. A pro-anorexia website has slammed the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit cover girl for her weight problem, claiming she’s 30 pounds too heavy.

The website (which I won’t mention) calls Upton a “cow”. “Let’s not pretend this is fashion. She looks thick, vulgar, almost pornographic – and she is a solid 30 lbs too heavy for this outfit,” read the site.

Unsurprisingly, they weren’t too entertained by Upton’s recent commercials for Carls Jr. burgers (see it here). “Huge thighs, NO waist, big fat floppy boobs, terrible body definition – she looks like a squishy brick. Is this what American women are “striving” for now? The lazy, lardy look? Have we really gotten so fat in this country that Kate is the best we can aim for? Sorry, but: eww!”

Pro-anorexia websites have been a worrisome part of online culture for over a decade, but as they grow increasingly “mainstream,” it’s important for the media to acknowledge how problematic they are — and to counteract them with positive messages for young women.

Popular social media/blogging site Tumblr has even had to add a stipulation to its terms of use. In February, they implemented a policy against blogs that promote eating disorders and self-harm. They also began streaming PSAs when users searched for eating disorder or self-harm related tags.

What’s more vulgar – Kate Upton’s curves – or the fact that there are pro-anorexia sites. How awful! Just what teenage girls need these days. I think the world needs more curvy models! I admit, Kate wears some pretty skimpy bikinis (doesn’t get more skimpy than this), but at least she has the curves to fill them!

Here are some new outtakes from her racy GQ photo shoot, taken by none other than Terry Richardson. You can check out her July cover here.

Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Edition cover LEAKED!

After weeks of speculation, the rumors were right - Kate Upton IS Sports Illustrated’s latest Swimsuit Issue cover girl!

Upton, a blonde Midwesterner, was a rumored favorite for the cover, which has a history of launching swimsuit models to superstardom (Brooklyn Decker, anyone?).

The cover shot, which has been leaked today but will officially debut this evening on “The Late Show with David Letterman,” shows Upton in a barely-there string bikini, doing our favorite “armpit pose.”

It’s a huge score for the Michigan native, previously the face of Guess Lingerie and a covergirl forCosmopolitan Bride. The 19-year-old was rumored the favorite, Page Six previously reported, because of her “blond, all-American looks” (a clear shift from last year’s cover girl, Russian beauty Irina Shayk).

The one Sports Illustrated issue I’ll actually look at!

PS: Is it just me, or does her nether region look really freaking weird. It’s like it’s GONE. That’s the smallest bikini bottom I’ve ever seen!
