Kate Moss is bronzed on the cover of Pop Magazine!

Kate Moss is a fashion icon! The supermodel has been at the top of her game for over two decades, and as recognition of that, Pop magazine had her bronzed!

The 39-year-old graces the Autumn/Winter cover of Pop magazine, a biannual British fashion bible. Unlike her previous two covers for the glossy, however, Moss is featured encased in a bronze bodysuit dreamed up by artist Allen Jones in the new issue. She is the archetypal “mannequin,” no?

The timing of this cover coincides with a Christie’s auction that will be putting the aforementioned image up for sale along with a slew of other Moss-themed items. Photographs of the model taken by Annie Leibovitz, Bruce Weber, Mario Testino, Sam Taylor-Wood and Irving Penn will be going under the hammer as well as works like Nick Knight’s 18-carat gold sculpture of Moss. The items are valued at $1.5 million.

Gert Elfering, the German collector behind the Christie’s auction, considers Moss a “living icon,” and told the Associated Press, “Kate is the ultimate modern muse and we will be seeing her images in major museums and private collections for years to come.”

What do you think? Is Kate a fashion “icon”?

Kate Moss covers Allure Magazine. Talks plastic surgery, her weight and Johnny Depp!

Kate Moss lands this month’s Allure Magazine, looking hotter than ever. Seriously, does the woman age? She’s gorgeous! In the interview, Kate opens up about plastic surgery, her weight, and the best piece of advice she ever got from ex-boyfriend, Johnny Depp.

The beautiful photos were shot by Mario Testino, in London. Here are some quotes from the interview:

Moss’s much-photographed face has inspired works of art, including a portrait by Lucian Freud, a solid-gold statue in her image, and two holograms. Asked why she thinks she is such a powerful inspiration for artists, she replies modestly, “I must be a bit of a blank canvas.” Pause. “Or something.” In fact, her skills at interpreting the fantasies of art directors and fashion editors make her as much in demand today as she was 20 years ago. “At a shoot, I’m really aware of everything,” she says. “When they do makeup, sometimes I can’t see what they’re doing, but I can feel it. I know what I look like, even when I can’t see what they’ve done. I know how to compose myself.”

These days, it takes more than fire and ferocious dogs at a photo shoot to unsettle Moss, but in her early days of modeling, she admits she had some insecurities. “I didn’t like my flat chest,” she says. “I was like, ‘Oh, I’m going to have a tit job.’ Can you imagine?” Posing nude was also a challenge, she says. “I used to be so scared about ‘Oh, I don’t want to show my body.’ Now that I’ve shown it, it doesn’t bug me about my moles, or ‘This isn’t big enough’ and ‘That’s not smooth enough.'” Today, very little seems off-limits for the free-spirited Moss—including the intimate details of her self-tanning habits. “I don’t mind a bikini bottom. My husband likes lines on the bum—men like white bums, like a frame,” she says. “Like a bull’s-eye?” someone at the shoot asks. “Exactly,” Moss replies. “I don’t do it on the boobs, though—I try not to have a white boob.”

Kate Moss will appear in Playboy’s 60th anniversary issue this January!

Kate Moss will bare all for Playboy! Kate will appear in the January issue of Playboy to celebrate their 60th anniversary (and her 40th birthday).

The rumors first started earlier this year, but last week it was confirmed by her hairstylist Oribe Canales. He admitted that not only is she going to appear in the magazine, but she’s already shot the photos!

Moss is expected to appear on the January cover to coincide with Playboy’s 60th anniversary and the beauty’s own 40th birthday. Fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot her for the issue. We’re also told Moss has commissioned artist Chuck Close to create a work based on the images from her Playboy session.

Moss has previously appeared naked in various fashion shoots and advertisements for David Yurman and suntan lotion St. Tropez. A rep for Playboy had no comment “one way or the other.” Reps for Moss didn’t get back to us.

I think it’s great she’s comfortable enough with her body to do it. I can’t believe she’s 40 – she has amazing genes! She looks gorgeous, so why not? I wonder what the photos will look like. I imagine they’ll be tasteful and not trashy.
