Look #1 Holiday Happy Hour- Bar None! Dazzling for Drinks

When happy hour is on the menu, learn the secret to a double-braid “headband” that turns your hair into its very own accessory

  • Prep: Set hair with a one-inch curling wand, taking each section twisting hair forward and placing the curling wand behind the hair, wrap the opposite way of the twist. Once section has been curled, take the curl, wrap it and bring it close to the hair, setting it with a pin while the curl is still hot. Undo the pins once the hair has completely cooled down.
  • Create a part on the heavy side that is just behind the ear. Separate the hair forward, clipping the hair away. Repeat the part on the opposite side. Make sure you have enough crown hair left in the back section for enough volume. Separate the back from the front in a low ponytail. Take the front part, splitting the section creating two halves with a comb. Repeat on the opposite side of the head.

Look #2 Holiday Hostess- Glam at Home: The host you’ll toast

The party’s on your turf and time is of the essence… which is why this half-up/half-down braid becomes your go-to strategy for a quick and elegant welcome.

  • Prep: To set a foundation, apply Power Whip to wet hair and blow dry. Create loose waves wrapped around a one inch curling iron.
  • Work in Instant Refresh to absorb any extra oils and leave hair shiny. Make a center part and take soft sections backcombing at the crown hair so it has volume.

Breast cancer never takes a holiday and Joico/ISO’s annual efforts to raise funds for research and increase awareness doesn’t either. Their efforts to support the fight to end cancer transforms this year to its “Style for A Cure” campaign in a year that has also seen Joico transformed in image and purpose. The Style for A Cure campaign includes special pink product promotions – top stylers JoiMist Firm hairspray and JoiWhip foam offered in a sleek, metallic pink sheen that gradates from top to bottom. Jennifer Lawrence Goes Red!

The Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence is now a redhead! “Her new color is actually a happy accident,” hairstylist Mark Townsend told InStyle.com exclusively. “It’s been colored and re-colored so many times I told her to give it a break and use stripping shampoos.” Lawrence—who went from blond to brunet to, now, red—last had her hair colored by Joico colorist Cherry Petenbrink for her upcoming role as Katniss Everdeen. “Jennifer had such gorgeous natural blond hair when she arrived at my studio, I had to fill it to build color. Our end result was a deep, level five brunet,” Petenbrink told us. “Jennifer was nervous, but she loved it. She told us ‘I can live with this for three movies.’” The colorist also adds that a product like Joico K-Pak Color Therapy Shampoo and Restorative Oil (available at salons) can help preserve rich color the longest.

Get the Look: Isla Fisher at the Sundance Film Festival

Kirsten Dunst and Isla Fisher  get cozy during the portrait session for their film Bachelorette at the Getty Images Portrait Studio on Sunday (January 22) in Park City, Utah.

The three actors were joined by their co-stars Lizzy Caplan, Hayes MacArthur, Rebel Wilson, and Kyle Bornheimer for the 2012 Sundance Film Festival activities.

The film centers around three friends (Dunst, Fisher, and Caplan) who are asked to be bridesmaids at a wedding of a woman (Wilson) they used to ridicule back in high school.

Celebrity stylist and colorist George Papanikolas created a fun and flirty look for Fisher here are the step by step on how to get it the look at home.

“Soft Bouncy Waves”

On damp hair, use Joico’s Body Luxe Design Foam at the root. Rough dry hair upside down to give hair full vomue.

Then, using a round brush, pull away from the head to give extra body.

Next, take a 1 1/4″ curling iron and wave from midshaft of the hair to the ends, to give a soft casual wave to the ends of the hair.

Finally, use a few drops at the ends of Joico’s K-Pak Protect and Shine Serum, and finish off with Joico’s K-Pak Protective Hairspray for a soft touchable hold.
