Nicole Kidman lands the March cover of InStyle Magazine, to promote her new movie “Grace of Monaco.” Will this movie ever be released? I don’t think it’s a good sign…. but that’s just me.
Anyway, in the new issue, the Australian tells the magazine that she’s happiest in the country. “I’m very country at heart,” says the Oscar winner. “I have a real desire to be outdoors, a desire for simplicity—a slightly slower, relaxed approach to life. A community, not a big-city feel. That’s what I grew up with, and it’s what I prefer.”
Kidman, 46, has been married to country star Keith Urban since 2006 and the couple have two children together, daughters Sunday and Faith. The family calls Nashville, Tenn. home, but they have found a comfort in their often vagabond lifestyle. Between Kidman’s filming and Urban’s tours, the Australian–raised duo has grown very accustomed to life on the road — and even life apart.
“Keith and I are both gypsies at heart. We can make our home wherever we are. The girls are like that too now, so we take them everywhere,” she said, crediting Urban’s tour bus for showing her most of America.
However, two busy careers mean Kidman and Urban aren’t always able to accommodate each others’ schedules, with Kidman telling InStyle, “For every single night he’s away, he leaves me a love letter. Every single night of our relationship.”
A little known fact about Nicole is that she was actually born in Hawaii. “I used to pretend to the kids at school that I was born right on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu,” she said. “I was actually delivered in a hospital—but it sounded good, and they believed me.”
The 46-year-old actress will next star as the iconic princess and actress Grace Kelly in ‘Grace of Monaco.’ The film will premiere at Cannes this May. An actress who is used to taking risks, Nicole said “I always try to push through fear. People always say, ‘Oh, you take such risks,’ or ‘You’re brave.’ And I’m like, ‘Well, if you only knew—inside I’m really frightened!”
