Get Anne Hathaway and Scarlett Johansson’s Oscar Hair With Fekkai Products!

This year for the 83nd Annual Academy Awards, four of the most sought after hairstyles seen on the red carpet were created exclusively by Fekkai stylists using Fekkai products. For information on the hairstylist’s inspirations and the products used to achieve the look, see below:

Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel tended to the tresses of Host, Anne Hathaway

INSPIRATION: A modern take on an Edwardian influenced style accented with a bohemian flair; a soft, loose style with beautiful shine.

HOW TO:

1. Begin by parting the hair down the center and apply Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume Styling Whip to the hair from roots ends

2. Blow-dry the hair using Fekkai Round Brush.

3. Next, pull hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck, making sure to cover the ears.

4. Then twist the ponytail into a loose knot.

5. The key is keeping it loose for a touch of bohemian flair. It’s almost like a draping around the face with wispy pieces of hair coming outsoftly.

6. Finish the look by spraying the Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray.

INSPIRATION: Duffy sought to bring out ‘the real Scarlett Johansson’ by creating a young, sexy, modern shag with dry texture.

HOW TO:

1) Begin by applying Fekkai Advanced Full Blown Volume™ Styling. Whip to towel-dried hair, working the product in from roots to ends.

2) Dry hair using Fekkai Classic Brush to create loose, tousled waves for the textured effect.

3) Apply Fekkai Full Blown Volume™ Lifting Hairspray to roots to prep the foundation

4) At the nape of the neck, spritz hair with Fekkai Coiff™ Océanique Tousled Wave Spray

5) Using a 1 ½ inch curling iron wrap 2-3 inch sections of hair around the barrel of the iron, leaving ends out. Continue to repeat this action throughout, bearing in mind the way the root falls.

6) Take a hairdryer with nozzle attachment and blast the root of the hair for hold and volume

7) Run fingers through the hair to break-up the waves.

8) Clamp the ends with a flat iron to flatten the curl, creating an imperfect, sleeker wave.

9) Finish the style with Fekkai Coiff™ Sheer Hold Hairspray to give a modern, edgy look.

Awesome Fekkai news – their products are now available at Target! Woohoo! (It’s all I use on my hair). You can also buy them online here.

Details on Jennifer Aniston’s new cut!

Jennifer Aniston caused quite a commotion when she showed up in Spain earlier this week with a new sexy bob!

Aniston’s longtime stylist Chris McMillan shared his method behind the hair change-up with Allure.com. “It was just time for a change,” McMillan said. “We had a blast doing it. And we’ve always liked this haircut. It’s about keeping things simple.” But why a bob? “I’m loving bobs again,” he explained, citing the recent styles featured by fashion houses like YSL and Celine. “It’s a sexy look.” But could it be that the real inspiration also had something to do with reality TV? Just ask McMillan. “The reason that I’m loving a bob at the moment… There are so many long, layered hairstyles and—don’t get me wrong, I love that. But The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills all have that. You know what I mean? And what’s the opposite direction you can go in.”

I love it! What do you think?

Emma Watson: I need to grow my hair if I want movie roles!

Emma Watson tells ELLEuk.com she will have to grow her hair if she wants to keep attracting acting roles.

Emma Watson’s pixie crop has caused much debate since she had it cropped last year. Some love it, others not so much. We all know the reason behind the cut – she has been contractually obliged to keep it long for the Harry Potter franchise of films, so last August after filming she went to the Cutler Salon in New York where hairstylist Rodney cut off her luscious lengths into the now famous pixie crop. A couple of days later she posted the news on her facebook page saying, ‘Yes, I cut my hair off a few days ago! I love it – feels incredible.’

But last night she confessed she may have to grow it out. ‘I’m kind of looking forward to getting to a cute little bob stage. I am trying to grow it but it’s slow, it’s taking a while obviously. If I want to keep acting it’s more flexible for me to have it longer for different roles, it’s quite a specific cut.’

I think she looks great either way!

Grammy Beauty: Bangs Were Big!

Jennifer Hudson walked the Grammys red carpet with sleek, glossy strands, only to go on stage an hour later with a pair of faux bangs snapped in place. And Hudson wasn’t the only one having a bangs moment—the look was one of the most popular beauty trends of the evening. Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott‘s blunt bangs dusted her eyes, a pregnant Selma Blair had a wispier look, Faith Evans‘s thick bangs were razor sharp, and Florence + the Machine’s Florence Welch maintained her signature ginger style—wavy with a touch of fringe.

I’m always tempted to do bangs, but I’m not that gutsy. If I hated them, it would be a long growing-out process!

Get the Look: Scarlett Johansson’s Old Hollywood Updo for the Golden Globes

Golden Globe Award Presenter Scarlett Johansson looked extraordinary on the red carpet tonight. Wearing a sparkling blush-colored Elie Saab gown, her dazzling, sculpted updo was softly glamourous in a new, very modern way.

Influenced by glamour of 40’s Hollywood and the sophisticated photographs of 40’s and 50’s fashion photographer, Lillian Bassman, Vetica took red carpet hair to elegant new heights. Inspired by the flowing lightness of Scarlett Johansson’s gown, Vetica created an updo that blended softness, movement, direction and a new sculptural shape.

“To create a feeling of movement and volume at the back of the head and height at the crown I started by blowdrying her hair with Moroccanoil® Treatment to smooth her texture and ensure shine and flexibility. I directed the hair back and away from her face and brought it back to the nape of her neck, and then up and towards the crown.

Next, I curled small sections of hair starting at the nape of the neck and up towards the crown using a 1Ž2 inch curling iron. Once I reached the crown, I curled the hair back from her face.

When I finished, Scarlett had a tight set of curls throughout her hair, all directed up and towards the crown. I then gave thecurls a good spray of Moroccanoil® Luminous Hairspray to set.

To finish, I vigorously brushed the hair through, again directing it up and away from the face, up from the neck towards the crown.

I then gave the whole look a well-defined backcomb to create a directional shape –- again bringing the hair up and away. Then, I gave the entire look a spray of Moroccanoil® Luminous Hairspray. It not only holds the hair, it leaves it with a soft, movable hold which was essential to make this look work.

I then attached two 1934 Flammes brooches worn as hair clips (round and baguette diamonds set in platinum) from the Van Cleef& Arpels Private Collection to round off the look by keeping the sides of her hair close to her head and to pick up the 40’s vibe of her dress.

Finally, I gently brushed through the top of the hair to smooth out the curls and gave it a wave. I finished by backcombing at the root of the crown for height.. I sprayed the hair with Moroccanoil® Luminous Hairspray again to set the look and finished with Moroccanoil® Glimmer Shine Spray for natural-looking shine.
