Beat the Heat with JOICO’s K-PAK Color Therapy Collection!

With the highest concentration of Quadramine Complex in its formulas, K-PAK delivers the ultimate in healthy hair. K-PAK products work synergistically to rebuild, reconstruct, strengthen and protect damaged hair!

I love JOICO’s new line, K-PAK Color Therapy. It’s one of the better shampoo/conditioner lines I’ve tried for color treated hair! Being summer, my hair is constantly taking a beating! Summer sun, chlorine, you name it! This collection helps keep my hair healthy and looking amazing. I am so happy to have found it!

Protect Hair Color with JOICO’s K-PAK Color Therapy Collection

A dual-benefit system that strengthens strands while doubling the life of color’s vibrancy makes this the ultimate summer care essential. The deep-conditioning and hair reconstruction duo contains the revolutionary QuadraBond Peptide Complex. This complex resurfaces and reconstructs hair to ensure that damaged strands maintain color intensity twice as long when compared to ordinary shampoo and conditioner. At the same time, even the weakest, most fragile or structurally impaired hair feels softer, silkier and more manageable, and looks shinier and healthier.

  • K-PAK Color Therapy Shampoo ($13.95): Gently cleanses while enhancing elasticity, strength, color vibrancy and shine. The rich lather won’t disrupt the surface B-Layer, so color molecules are discouraged from escaping.
  • K-PAK Color Therapy Conditioner ($15.95): This daily formula fortifies, reconstructs and strengthens as it protects color integrity. It calms surface disruptions, and helps smooth, detangle and eliminate frizz.

Loving Sultra’s Feather Hair Accents!

Sultra Feather Hair Accents are long-lasting, do-it-yourself, clip-in hair accessories. I think they’re totally cute – and I think they look fabulous on anyone with longer hair. My hair is too short, I’m not sure it would look good on me.

These colorful, chic hair accessories are made from natural rooster feathers that can be dried, ironed, and curled. Easy to use, the discrete clip makes applying and removing the extension simple.

These extensions are designed for any hair type and color. Sultra Natural Feather Hair Accent clip extensions are an ideal alternative to salon applied extensions, which cannot be removed and reused.

Would you wear these feather extensions?

NEW REPORT: Adults should wear a “golf ball-sized” amount of sunblock.

Visit msnbc.com for breaking news, world news, and news about the economy

I just watched this clip on The Today show, as they discussed the new laws when it comes to sunscreen! Starting in the summer of 2012, the packaging on sunblock will look MUCH different.

One thing that stood out in the video above is that the FDA says that we “under use” sunblock. That adults should be wearing a golf ball-sized amount of sunblock while in the sun. And not only that – it needs to be reapplied every 2 hours! That’s crazy to me! I can’t believe we have to use that much – and that often!

Here we’ve broken down the new, stricter FDA sunscreen guidelines for you:

*Sunscreen manufacturers will have to follow stricter guidelines when describing how well their products block ultraviolet B rays.

*Sunscreens that don’t protect against both ultraviolet A and B rays and have a sun protection factor, or SPF, below 15 will have to carry warning label: “This product has been shown only to help prevent sunburn, not skin cancer or early skin aging.”

*FDA will also prohibit sunscreen marketing claims like “waterproof” and “sweatproof,” which the agency said “are exaggerations of performance.”

*Products that protect against UVA and UVB will be labeled “broad spectrum.” In an effort to clear up the confusing mix of numbers, acronyms and symbols on sunscreen labels, the FDA says manufacturers must phase out a four-star system currently used by some companies to rate UVA protection.

*Only sunscreens with an SPF of 15 or higher can claim to lower the risk of cancer. The FDA also proposed capping the highest SPF value at 50, unless companies can provide results of further testing that support a higher number. Some products on the market claim to offer SPF protection of a 100 or higher.

Last year an estimated 68,130 people in the U.S. were diagnosed with melanoma – the most dangerous form of skin cancer – and an estimated 8,700 died, according to the National Cancer Institute. Nearly $2 billion is spent treating the disease each year.

Not a fan of Frederic Fekkai Silky Straight Ironless

I went to Ulta the other day, and went straight to Fekkai, for my must-have Glossing Cream (I’ll never use anything else on my hair!). I noticed that Fekkai has a new line of products, called Silky Straight Ironless.

Each product in the Silky Straight Ironless collection, infused with advanced micro-smoothing technology, is created to work synergistically to create and hold chic, straight style and luxuriously silky texture without effort. This weightless Smooth Finish Serum wraps each hair strand with concentrated smoothing agents and fights humidity, frizz and curl all day for sleek and shiny hair.

I have always had a problem with frizzy hair, and while Glossing Cream is the best product for this, I still have flyaways all day long to deal with! So I picked up Fekkai’s Silky Straight Ironless Smooth Finish Serum. The description read:

This weightless Smooth Finish Serum wraps each hair strand with concentrated smoothing agents and fights humidity, frizz and curl all day for sleek and shiny hair.

How to use: For best results, apply 1-2 pumps and spread through dry hair. For especially unruly hair, combine with the Ironless Straightening Balm on wet hair before blow-drying.

Sounds perfect, no?

Well no…it’s not. It doesn’t work at fighting frizz AT ALL. It did not leave me with sleek and shiny hair. In fact, I’m not sure it didn’t make my hair worse!

I returned it to Ulta, and bought another bottle of Glossing Cream.

I’m in love with my Chi Ultra Hair Straightener!

I had been using the same, ol’ hair straightener for years, and I finally realized it’s a horrible hunk of junk. So I finally decided I was going to splurge and buy a GOOD hair straightener. I did my research, and lo and behold, everyone agrees – Chi Hair Straighteners are the best.

So off I went to Ulta, where I found this hair straightener, and I bought it on the spot!

Can I just tell you I’m in love, and what the heck was I waiting for? I can’t believe I went years using the same old beat up straightener, when products like THIS existed! It’s amazing! It is the most perfect straightener on the market.

Would I lie to you?

Blake Lively steps out with red hair!

Blake Lively has ditched her famous blonde hair for a new red ‘do!

The Gossip Girl star stunned at the TIME 100 Gala in New York City Tuesday night, but her gorgeous green Zuhair Murad dress wasn’t the only thing onlookers were talking about. The actress — the new face of Chanel handbags — arrived on the red carpet sporting strawberry-tinged locks. “It’s for the film Hick,” Lively told PEOPLE. “I thought [my character] needed red hair. It helps when you’re playing a role, when I don’t feel like myself. And I don’t really feel like myself with red hair.” Colorist Rona O’Connor transformed Lively’s locks about a month ago, however, the actress managed to fly under the radar following her last public appearance at CinemaCon in early April. So how does she like her new look? “I love it,” she gushed. “I feel like Ariel.”

What do you think about her new look?
