Get The Look: Rashida Jones at the Elle Women in Hollywood Event

Actress Rashida Jones made her mark at the ELLE Women in Hollywood Event in Beverly Hills last night. Celebrity Makeup Artist Jamie Greenberg shared her tips and tricks for creating Rashida’s glowing look.

Face & Cheeks:
”I started by applying mark Primed for Perfection Face Primer and mark Got the Goods Multi-Benefit Foundation Lotion SPF 15 in Medium 8 for a strong, moisturized, even base. Next, I applied mark Bronze Pro Bronzing Powder and Light Show Illuminating Face Powder all over Rashida’s face to create a luminous glow. Finally, I applied mark Just Pinched Instant Blush Tint in Peachy to add a warm tone to her skin.”

Eyes:
“I started by applying mark Please Hold Eye Primer to Rashida’s eyelids to create a strong base. Next, I applied mark I-Mark Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Biscotti to the insides of her lids, followed by mark I-Mark Wet/Dry Eye Shadow in Nightly and Galactic on the outsides of her lids. I lined Rashida’s top eye lines with mark Keep It Going Longwear Eyeliner & Shadow in Surreal (blue shade) and her bottom lash lines with mark No Place to Run Longwear Eyeliner in Indigo Girl. I finished Rashida’s eyes by applying mark Lash Act Build and Define Mascara in Blackest Black to her top and bottom lashes.”

Lips:
“For Rashida’s lips, I applied mark Lipclick Full Color Lipstick in Toasty to create a nude lip.”

InStyle Get The Look: Salma Hayek’s Brick Red Lips

Salma looks amazing!

Instyle Get The Look:
Salma Hayek made traffic come to a halt with her stop-sign red lips at the Here Comes The Boom premiere in New York City. We love how she added instant old-Hollywood glamour to her little black dress with her bold lip. To get the look, be sure to line your pout in a similar shade and then layer a creamy brick red shade on top. Anyone can pull this look off, just keep the rest of your features understated and natural.

Get The Look: Olivia Thirlby’s Textured Wavy Bob at the Nobody Walks Premiere

At last night’s premiere, TRESemmé Celebrity Stylist John D. styled this leading lady for her red carpet debut. ”I was inspired by Olivia’s fun, modern and flirty dress and wanted her hair to feel the same way!” John said. “Currently she has a great chin-length bob and I wanted it to appear full of texture and body.”

How-To Steps:

  • Prep towel-dried hair by spraying TRESemmé 24 Hour Body Blow Dry Lotion throughout the hair, then comb through to ensure even distribution.
  • Blow-dry hair using a small round brush to encourage extra volume throughout the style.
  • Create a side part and curl the hair in small sections, spraying each section once with TRESemmé Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Spray to lock in the wave pattern and protect hair from excess heat.
  • Curl all hair throughout the head by wrapping each section around the curling rod and holding out the ends to give the texture a modern feel. Stylist tip: the straighter ends add an edge to the style.
  • Once complete, use a small brush (I like the Acca Kappa Bristle Brush) to loosen up the waves that have set.
  • Finish by rubbing TRESemmé Smooth Anti-Frizz Secret Creme into palms and loosely scrunch into the ends of the style to add subtle definition.

Instyle: You Can Do Red Lips!

You Can Do: Red Lips
Like the perfect leopard-print stiletto, an amazing red lipstick can transform even the most basic black dress into something startlingly chic. Case in point: Despite some stiff competition from her ambitious right leg, Angelina Jolie’s red lips won us over at the Oscars.

The Basic Tips
• Ditch the chapped lips! For a pitch-perfect crimson like Rihanna’s, exfoliate lips with a wet washcloth, followed by a dab of lip balm.
• Fill in with a liner that matches the natural color of your lips—not the lipstick.
• Apply color with a tiny brush, starting at the center of your mouth and blending outward.

The Basic Products
• Available in four versatile shades, The Nude Liner by Smashbox ($17 each; sephora.com) is easy to blend, and lasts for hours.
• A blue-based crimson like MAC’s Red ($15; maccosmetics.com) brightens up your smile, and neutralizes any discoloration on your teeth with its cool undertones.
• MAC’s 318 Retractable Lip Brush ($23; maccosmetics.com) creates a seamless finish, and thanks to its compact size, is perfect for touch-ups on the go.

I’m scared it will look too harsh.
If a full-on red is too much commitment for you, try out a lip stain instead like YSL’s Rouge Pur Couture Glossy Stain in Orange de Chine ($32; yslbeautyus.com). Just dab a bit of it on the inside center of your lips, then smack them together. The effect is subtle, rosy, and youthful—like you’ve just finished a cherry Popsicle.

What eye makeup do I pair with it?
Although a statement lip works best with minimal eye makeup, that doesn’t mean you have to swear off shadows altogether. Unless you want to channel an ’80s revival, steer clear of bright shades, and stick to sheer neutrals

Get The Look: Cat Deeley at the 64th Annual Emmy Awards.

So You Think You Can Dance” host Cat Deeley wowed the crowd when she stepped onto the red carpet tonight at the 64th annual Emmy Awards. Makeup Artist Amy Strozzi was the visionary behind the nominated host’s stunning beauty look. Amy put the focus on Cat’s eyes, layering a wet coffee shadow over a blend of multiple mocha shades for a modern take on the classic smokey eye. Amy then upped the drama by smudging a dark brown liner on both top and bottom lashes and swiping black mascara on lashes for the finishing touch.

To offset the intensity of the eyes, Amy kept the rest of Cat’s face simple: she gave Cat her signature sunkissed glow using Glow Powder Bronzer and added a rosy flush of color on Cat’s cheekbones using True Color Blush. Amy finally opted to give Cat a nude lip, which she achieved by applying a neutral lip liner over the entire lip and then swiping a matching lipstick.
