Get the Look: Emmanuelle Chriqui’s Hollywood Night Out.

EMMANUELLE CHRIQUI’S HOLLYWOOD NIGHT OUT

Get the Look with Makeup Artist Sarah Uslan

Rushing may have been the theme of the day, but Emmanuelle Chriqui’s soft red lips and natural eyes show anything but haste. The Entourage star looked flawless at the 2nd Annual Hollywood Rush event held last Sunday, February 19 – all thanks to celebrity makeup artist Sarah Uslan of the Serge Normant at John Frieda Salon in LA.

Sarah offers up her step-by-step for creating Emmanuelle’s flawless finish here!

It’s In the Eyes: “I started with Bobbi Brown Brown Metal Metallic Long-Wear Cream Shadow and swiped a soft amount over the lid,” says Sarah. “Blending out the edges with my ring finger.” Follow with Bobbi Brown Really Black Ink Gel eyeliner paired with Dolce & Gabanna’s angled eyeliner brush to create a defined kitten eye. Start with a light amount of liner as close to the lash line as possible, then from the outside corner begin to build a thicker line while making sure that the angle faces up and out to achieve your cat-like look.

Glowing Skin: Using Armani Luminous Silk Foundation with a foundation brush, start from the forehead and work down the middle of the face and then out to the jaw-line. Always be sure to blend the seam of the neck and the jaw. Then take Bobbi Brown Bronzer in Golden Light and dust over cheek bones and forehead to contour. Illamasqua Blush in Chased brushed to the apples of the cheeks with Dolce & Gabanna’s blush brush will give that perfect complimentary soft pink cheek you need when doing a red lip.

The Lips: “The perfect red for Emmanuelle was Dolce & Gabanna Lip Color in Scarlet which I traced over her lip with a lip brush and then patted on with the actual lipstick for more pigment.”

The Finish: Dust Dmk Powder in Dark Translucent over T-zone to cut any shine. Use Laura Mercier’s Brunette Brow Pencil to add definition to the brows. The final steps in completing this classic, clean and pretty look.

Tips For A Perfect Ponytail from Ouidad’s Morgan Willhite.

Runway Beauty Trend Ponytails Tail Tips from Ouidad Creative Director, Morgan Willhite

Always a constant in a woman’s hair repertoire, it now seems the ponytail is more of a hot trend than staple look. Curl driven, soft and wavy ponytails were spotted on a plethora of runways at New York Fashion Week over the last few days. From the looped and tucked tails at Carolina Herrera to the embellished ponytail twists at Derek Lam, locks in favor of ponytails were clearly polished, playful, setting the stage for hair trends in 2012. Morgan Willhite, Creative Director at Ouidad offers her expertise to replicate these runway inspired ponytails for curly girls nationwide.

“The best part about ponytails is that they are low maintenance yet they look high fashion. Although they are a great option for most hair types, they are especially attractive on curly hair,” says Willhite. Ponytails can be fun or sophisticated and the only requirement is that your hair is at least medium length. “All you need is a touch of the Ouidad Clear Control pomade, a few sprays of the new Frizz and Fly Away Fighter and a hair elastic to make this trend work for you,” says Willhite.

Morgan’s Tail Tips

  • Brush your hair with a comb or the Ouidad Double Detangler ($24 at Ouidad.com) and apply the Ouidad Climate Control Gel ($22 at Ouidad.com) throughout the hair to reduce frizz
  • Put an elastic band around your right wrist and hold your hair in your left hand; with your right hand brush the hair back smoothly; curly hair tends to be dry, so spray a bit of water to keep it damp as you work
  • Open the hand holding the hair as you brush the hair through; smooth out the front adding Ouidad Climate Control Gel to control curls
  • Use your left hand to slide the elastic off your right wrist and onto the base of the ponytail
  • Let some curls escape the ponytail for a romantic look
  • Try a loose ponytail if you have thick curly hair
  • Apply the new Ouidad Frizz and Flyaway Fighter ($22 at Ouidad.com) to the finished look to help reduce frizz and keep the flyaways tamed

Ricardo Rojas kept Jessica Chastain looking red-carpet ready this weekend for London’s star-studded events using Wella Professionals. Looking as beautiful as she did at the 2012 ELLE Style Awards held on February 13th, it is no wonder why Jessica Chastain was honored with the NEXT Future Icon Award. Read on for Ricardo’s tips and tricks!

Jessica Chastain Embodies Modern Goddess Beauty
Celebrity Stylist Ricardo Rojas Shares Red Carpet Tricks To Get Her Hair

Celebrity hairstylist Ricardo Rojas shares his styling secrets on how he created Jessica’s fresh new ‘do. The look was inspired by the 1950s Alexander McQueen dress Jessica donned for the event. “Jessica and I spoke a lot about texture, with a Renaissance influence. Her beautiful red haircolor is reminiscent of the 16th century, Leonardo da Vinci, very Boticelli-esque. So we drew on various inspirations to come up with this look, which ultimately I’d describe as young, youthful Renaissance.” The ponytail had a lot of texture and body to imitate a modern version of a Grecian goddess.

1. Prepare west hair with Velvet Amplifier for smooth styling.
2. Dry the hair perfectly using the Ricardo Rojas Tango Brush, separating the hair in small pieces.
3. Using 1/2 inch curling iron, section by section from top to the bottom, I curled the hair under.
4. Then spray each section with Thermal Image Heat Protection Spray to set each one and pin curl them carefully.
5. I let the curls set while her make-up was done.
6. I took all the hair down, removing the pins and gently brushed out the curls.
7. Using a ponytail holder with a hook in the ends, I secured the ponytail in place while keeping the frame loose around her face so there was texture in the front.
8. Finish with Stay Essential Finishing Spray to maintain the style.
