From left to right:

  • On a chilly, gray fall morning, you can slip into a hot summer day with Benefit Laugh With Me Lee Lee ($36; Sephora.com), a sunny, citrus-drenched scent of sugared lemonade and blackberry pie (there is the slightest hint of flaky crust).
  • A Scent by Issey Miyake ($89; department stores) is like clean, clear air blown over fields of snow and ice, carrying the scent of frozen crystals and a fresh balsam tree.
  • American Beauty Beloved Red Rose ($40; Kohls.com) invokes a breeze that has picked up the green notes of grassy meadows and passed through a hedge of young roses, just opening in May.
  • Lola Marc Jacobs ($65; Bloomingdales.com) explodes with vivid fruit. Each one seems lit up. Wearing Lola is like walking through Times Square and smelling the thousands of purple, orange, and lemon gas-plasma lights.

NEW from Marc Jacobs: LOLA

mj-lola-line-up-3_r60lr.jpg

Two years ago, Marc Jacobs launched the wildly successful Daisy.  I love Daisy, it’s such a great scent.  I never actually splurged on buying it – but everytime I go to a Sephora – or Macy’s I definitely spray it on.

I was recently sent a sample of Marc Jacobs LOLA (in quite possibly the cutest packaging I’ve ever seen) and immediately I want to claim this scent as my own.   It is so ME! I wonder if everyone will feel this way. It’s just the best scent ever, probably one of – if not the one favorite perfume I’ve ever smelled.

Those that follow this site probably know that I never really review many fragrances, because I’m so darn picky.  But this scent is amazing. It’s so unbelievably intoxicating – that’s a great way to put it.  When it’s released – you need to go check it out.  See for yourself.  You won’t be sorry!

LOLA is a warm floral bouquet – irresistibly alluring, vividly tempting. The fragrance is an intoxicating swirl of rich layers, wrapping the skin in sensuous florals blooming with a signature of the fuschia peony.

LOLA sparkles with fruity topnotes of delectable bright pink peppercorn, seductive pear d’anjou and succulent ruby red grapefruit. The ultra-feminine heart is highlighted by the lavish dischia peony with soft touches of rose and geranium.

The base lingers on skin exuding a warm and seductive aura with enveloping notes of smooth vanilla, tonka bean and creamy musk.

“Where Daisy is more innocent and sweet, Lola is more sensual — the name conjures up a flirtatious, warm spirit,” Jacobs told WWD.

Does cocaine have a smell?

Amy Winehouse is set to become the latest celebrity to launch her own perfume line, according to reports.

The Rehab singer has recently returned to her native Britain following an extended stay on the Caribbean island of St Lucia in a bid to overcome her alcohol and drug addictions.

Now the star is hoping to land a deal worth more than $750,000 to launch the fragrance with her name on the label, under the guidance of her dad, Mitch.

A source tells British tabloid the Daily Star, “Mitch is keen to license Amy’s name to a perfume house. He has been in talks with manufacturers and contacted PR firms for advice. They want it to reflect her style with a classic smoky 1950s look and smell. Amy is keen to expand her brand and wants to latch on to the celeb perfumes bandwagon while she can.”
