The makers behind Axe Body spray is launching a line of fragrance for women.

The British brand has been around since 1985, and it’s ads showing beautiful women all over the men who wear Axe, are well known.

Over the years commercials showing nerds, unattractive, otherwise boring men, ending up with gorgeous model-type women. And all they had to do was use Axe body spray!!

While the ads drew criticism for their portrayal of women, you can’t argue the fact that they were successful! After almost thirty years of concentrating on men, the brand has decide to branch out into the female market.

The new fragrance, called ‘Lynx Attract’ in a “For Him” and “For Her” line will hit the shelves soon.

The launch will be accompanied by a typically racy advert – showing men and women causing chaos because they are so attracted to each other.

In previous ads, a campaign in 2004 showed how the scent gave a geeky man the confidence to dance and attract women.

This was followed by more provocative marketing – which suggested Lynx ‘turned nice girls naughty’.

Selina Sykes, Lynx Marketing Manager at Unilever UK, said: ‘This is a historic moment for Lynx as a brand.

‘For the first time in our 27 year history we are launching a male and female fragrance at the same time.’

Lynx claims ‘Attract For Him’ will drive the girls crazy with its sensual fruity and woody notes.

Meanwhile, the firm says: ‘Attract For Her perfectly complements the male scent and will drive the guys wild with its fruity, floral and woody fragrance.

‘A vibrant colourful mixture of succulent fruit creates an enticing fusion while floral notes leave a feminine accord.
‘Bottom notes of wood, musk and vanilla give the fragrance a sheer creaminess.’

The male version is described as ‘top notes of Pomegranate, apple and blueberry create a fresh scent while mid notes of violet, sage and lavender add a sharp crispness.’

Here’s an exclusive exclusive first look at the ‘Truth or Dare by Madonna’ fragrance by Madonnarama!

Madonna will be featured in a global print, television, and online marketing campaign produced in collaboration with Fabien Baron, Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

The print ads used for the campaign will feature photos from the Madonna photoshoot by Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott for the 2010 May issue of Interview Magazine.

‘Truth or Dare by Madonna’ will include bracelets, earrings, sexy lingerie and a special Dom Pérignon champagne bottle with custom made packaging.

Press kits of the new ‘Truth or Dare by Madonna’ fragrance have been sent out as well.
Marie Claire’s Sergio Kletnoy, who has his own column on Daily Front Row, was one of the lucky and shared some exclusive pictures with Madonnarama.

“There is something primal and mystical about the sense of smell. It connects us to memory, nostalgia and the ability to dream and fantasize.

I have always been obsessed by fragrance and for years wanted to create something personal that was an expression of me, but that other people could relate to as well. Something classical and timeless and yet modern.

My oldest memory of my mother is her perfume. I carry it with me everywhere. She always smelled like Gardenias and Tuberose. An intoxicating mixture. Feminine and mysterious.

I wanted to recreate this scent but with something fresh and new about it as well. Something honest and yet daring. Hence the name Truth or Dare.

We can be tricked by what we see and what we hear but not by what we smell.”

The press kit includes a vase of yellow waterlillies, a gold box, a blindfold designed by Kiki de Montparnasse, and a tiny vial of the scent.

Emily Blunt landed herself one of fashions hottest campaigns, and she’s incredibly humble about the honor.

When she was recently asked why she was chosen as the face of YSL’s Opium fragrance, Blunt told The Telegraph:

‘I don’t know. I’ve no idea,’ she says, wheezing with laughter. ‘There was no one else? They made a mistake, a terrible mistake.’

She says she suggested wearing a dress in the advert rather than the classic Yves Saint Laurent tux. ‘But I got word back, ’ she continues in a perfect French accent, ‘that the leopard trainer says, “If you have flowing fabric around the leopard the leopard will go crazy .” So I said yes to the tux. ’

The ad, which you can watch above, is interesting to me. I think that Emily is very beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But she’s a comedy actress, so it’s hard to see her being seductive. I kept waiting for her to do a flip – and make me laugh…. or something. It looks like it’s on the verge of being something funny (to me).
