Sometimes it’s worth it to splurge – Fekkai’s Glossing Line truly is the best!

I’m all about saving money – and buying beauty products that fit my budget. One place I NEVER splurge – is on shampoo and conditioner. I’ve found products that are okay – for $5 or less. And so when I tried Fekkai’s Glossing Shampoo and Conditioner, I think I could hear my hair follicles rejoicing.

I hate how much I love this shampoo and conditioner. How will I ever be able to wean myself off it!

One thing I will say for all these products below is even though they are a bit more spendy – they last a whole lot longer than most products. You don’t need to use as much, so they will last twice as long! I’ve had the Brilliant Glossing Sheer Mist for over a year now, and I’ve only used about half the bottle. So it’s worth the $$ for sure! Would I steer you wrong?

Fekkai’s Glossing Shampoo is a shine-enhancing shampoo infused with pure olive oil extract which gently cleanses and adds luster to normal or dull hair. ($21 – $35) Follow the shampoo with the Glossing Conditioner, which is enriched with pure olive oil and moisturizers, which adds luster and vibrance to normal or dull hair.($21 -$35)

After washing and conditioning, I follow with Glossing Cream which HANDS DOWN is the best styling cream I’ve ever used. Fekkai’s Glossing Cream is a styling cream with pure olive oil that eliminates frizz and adds moisture and shine to all hair types. While I may skimp on shampoo and conditioner – I NEVER skimp on product. This cream is worth every single penny I spend on it. ($21 -$27)

After drying my hair, I use a couple squirts of Brilliant Glossing Sheer Shine Mist, and my hair looks amazing. It’s like it’s not even my hair!

Feather-light mist delivers an even veil of shine with encapsulated olive oil plus all day long protection. This last impression – leaves sheer shine to finish any style.

Fekkai’s legendary shine collection infuses new Encapsulated Shine-Release Complex in its winnning olive oil formula to renew shine all day, strand by strand, minute by minute. ($9 – $23)

Why Eclipse’s Kristen Stewart Dyed Her Hair Lighter

Although Kristen Stewart, 20, is currently traveling the world to promote The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (out Wednesday), the actress is already gearing up for her next role in the film adaptation of a classic Jack Kerouac novel.

“Kristen is preparing to play Mary Lou in the 1950′s drama, On the Road,” her stylist, Frederic Fekkai’s Adir Abergel, tells UsMagazine.com. “I wanted to bring her hair closer to her natural color: blonde.”

To achieve the “flirty and feminine” hue, Adir teamed up with Clairol celebrity stylist Marie Robinson and pulled images from the ’50s for inspiration.

Stewart debuted her new look during a Monday appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

I think she looks stunning with this hair color! She should keep it!

How to Get At-Home Hair Color Right by BellaSugar

I was reading one of my favorite beauty sites – Bella Sugar – and they had some great tips for achieving that perfect at-home color! I dye my own hair (cheaper, easier) so these tips are really great! And I absolutely ADORE Fekkai, their glossing cream is the only hair styling product I use!

Even Frédéric Fekkai has made home hair color cheap, with its Salon Color ($30) line, but it doesn’t mean your results have to be any less impressive than salon color. To help you do it right when you’re doing it at home, a few tips can make a world of difference. To see my home color solutions, just keep reading.

  • If you’re trying to choose between an all-over color and highlights, do highlights. Highlights add more dimension to your hair, giving it the multitonal look that salon hair color has. Highlights are also more subtle than all-over color, and since you can grow them out without major roots, they’re much less commitment.
  • If you highlight, keep the pieces fine, never chunky. Unless you want to look like Ginger Spice circa 1998, you should highlight many small sections of hair as opposed to a few larger sections. Fine highlights look more natural.
  • Don’t go more than two shades lighter or darker. This is a general hair rule, and when you’re doing the color yourself, it’s smart to play it safe.
  • If you’re going darker or only one level up, try a semipermanent color. Permanent hair color is a big commitment, and the ammonia in it can damage your hair. Semipermanents, on the other hand, use a gentler chemical, MEA, and it’s easy and inexpensive to put the color back in every couple of months. If you’re not sure you want to go with your new shade indefinitely, semipermanents are also a good move.
  • Pick a shade that’s good with your undertones. Cool skin tones look best in cool colors, which will be labelled as such, or as “beige” or “ash,” and warm colors in shades like “golden” or “copper.”
  • Natural or neutral shades look good on all skin tones, so if you’re confused, they’re a safe bet.
  • A simple tip, but easy to forget: wear an old t-shirt or button-up top while you color. Having to pull a garment off over your head can ruin your clothing and your color.

p189139_hero.jpgp233103_hero.jpg

HOW TO GET THE LOOK:
Adir first started out by applying the FEKKAI COIFF™ NONCHALANT PIECING & FORMING WAX to the palm his hands and then added the FEKKAI COIFF™ EXTRA CONTROL STYLING GEL for extra texture and shine. He applied this to her damp hair until it was full saturated.
To get the right texture with short layered haircut like Kristen’s, you must apply enough products until you get it to look right and feels right. It is important to fully saturate the hair with product.
Once the product was in the hair he took a blow-drier and hand dried into his desired style, directing all the hair with his fingers back to the nape of her neck.

To finish the look, he took the back of the hair and pulled it into a twisted ponytail letting the ends out and then spraying the front with the FEKKAI SHEER HOLD HAIRSPRAY. Make sure to leave random pieces out for a more chill vibe.
