Get The Look: Kristen Stewart’s Androdygnous, Roughed-up Ponytail!

Fekkai stylist Adir Abergel created an edgy ponytail for actress Kristen Stewart at the AFI Gala screening of her new film On the Road. Recreate the look by following Adir’s tips and using Fekkai products.

THE LOOK: An androgynous, roughed-up ponytail that looked great from every angle

HOW TO:

  • Begin by applying Fekkai COIFF Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel through dry hair, focusing on roots. Using your hands rough up the strands to create as much volume as possible.
  • Create a deep part and backcomb the roots to create height and volume. Spray roots with Fekkai COIFF Sheer Hold Hairspray to maintain shape and hold.
  • Next, pin the top section of hair up and using Fekkai COIFF Nonchalant Piecing & Forming Wax pull the rest of the hair back into a tight, off center ponytail.
  • After the ponytail is created rake back the top section of hair using your fingers and integrate it into the ponytail. Make sure to leave enough height on top to give it the desired shape.
  • Brush the ponytail over shoulder to frame the face and balance out the volume. Finish the look with Fekkai COIFF Sheer Hold Hairspray to keep the style in place.

Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Adir Abergel Created A Futuristic 1960’s look for Elizabeth Banks at the Hunger Games Premiere

INSPIRATION: Adir wanted to create a Barbarella inspired bob; the look was a futuristic take on a 1960’s style

How To Get the Look: Adir began by applying Fekkai Ironless Straightening Balm from the roots to the ends of wet hair. He then blow-dried the hair with a round brush until it was completely straight. Adir backcombed the top of the hair to add height and then smoothed it back into a sixties half back style. He secured the hair with a few bobby pins. To give the hair a mirror finish, Adir applied Fekkai Advanced Brilliant Glossing Cream to the ends of the hair. He finished the look by spraying Fekkai Sheer Hold Hairspray for an all night hold, with a natural feel.

Get the Look: Katy Perry Pretty in Pink at the 2011 AMA’s

Fekkai Celebrity Stylist Renato Campora Created A High-Fashion Sophisticated Up-Do for Katy Perry at 39th Annual American Music Awards

INSPIRATION: A very sculpted, modern take on a French twist. Renato was inspired for this look after seeing Katy’s red carpet dress. The look was elegant and sophisticated but also innovative.

How To Get the Look: Renato began by applying Fekkai Coiff Bouffant Lifting & Texturizing Spray Gel to wet hair in order to give it a firm base. He then blow-dried the hair while brushing it through with a flat brush. He used a one-inch curling iron throughout the hair to create body while giving it a sturdy foundation. Renato then heavily teased the hair. To create the final up-do, he pushed the front of the hair forward and wrapped the rest into a French twist, securing it with hairpins. To complete the look, Renato added an accessory made by Vivienne Westwood by weaving it into the hair with his fingers. He secured the look by spraying the hair with Fekkai Coiff Sheer Hold Hairspray.

Don’t let your anti-aging routine stop at your face!

Fernando Milani

If you think you have  a handle on anti- aging with a great eye cream and facial regimen you are missing one vital piece. Most women overlook their hair as they grow older, missing key steps to keeping their hair healthy, shiny and vibrant. Fortunately Anti-Aging hair care is one of the fastest growing hair care categories and there are lots of great products to get you hair Rapunzel would swoon over.

Pick the right haircut:

You don’t need to chop off your hair  just because your no longer getting carded on ladies night. Study your face and your  lines to determine the right cut. Long hair can make crows feet appear smaller while a great bob can diminish the look of laugh lines and under eye droop. Your stylist can help you find the perfect cut to play up your best features.

Great hair starts on the inside:

What you put in your body is as important as what you put on it. When it comes to healthy hair a high quality anti-aging supplement and a healthy balanced diet will aid you in keeping silky, vibrant hair. Your hair will also benefit from hair care products fortified with vitamins A, B, C, and E, try Vitamin Blueberry Avocado Shampoo ($3.99) infused with potent antioxidants.

Treat your hair to a mask:

A great deep conditioner or mask can help combat dryness and roughness. A great deep conditioner that is easy on the wallet is Age Beautiful Intense Strengthing Treatment (9.99), a customer favorite leaves hair moisturized and easy to manage and adds unbelievable shine.

Switch your Shampoo and Conditioner:

A switch to anti-aging shampoo and conditioner will help nourish  and moisturizeyour hair restoring a youthful shine. Alterna’s Caviar Moisture ($53.00)  goes beyond simple moisture by helping hair attract, retain, and rebalance the hydration it needs. One of my favorites Frederic Fekkai Ageless ($35-$125) anti-aging formula repairs and prevents the effects of biological, environmental and mechanical aging in hair by restoring hair’s intrinsic strength, structure and vitality.
