Plus-size retailer Torrid has named Australian model Georgina Burke as the first-ever face of their brand, and giving her the cover of their swimsuit catalogue as well as online campaigns and in stores. The partnership will be the first major plus-size ad campaign we’ve seen in a while. 23-year-old Burke was the perfect choice for the role! She’s beautiful! Burke explains:

“Sixty-eight percent of women in America are over size 12. Why can’t we be put in the magazine as well? Who’s to say we aren’t good enough to be in there? What’s wrong with putting me as the face of a company or using us [plus-size women] in a magazine or putting us out there in a fashionable way?”

Head over to Torrid to shop the collection.

Anne Hathaway dumps Rachel Zoe as her stylist, after 10 years together!

Anne Hathaway and Rachel Zoe are ending their ten-year relationship!

What went wrong!? They’ve had some fashion highs and lows (below) during their relationship, but something must have soured. “Rachel and Anne aren’t currently working together. Anne is just trying out something new for the time being,” a source told E! News.

I think Anne was right to ditch Zoe. She hasn’t looked good on the red carpet in some time. She DOES need a stylist that can dress her better.

The “something new” happens to be Zoe’s rival stylist, Penny Lovell. Penny dresses stars like Rose Byrne and Bella Heathcote. Their first public debut was Anne’s hunter green trouser suit with a feather lapel that she wore to the Sundance Film Festival (see Anne’s “new look” here!).

Zoe probably isn’t losing any sleep over her lost client. She’s still busy with her clients Jennifer Lawrence, Sofia Vergara, Jennifer Garner and Isla Fisher.

American Apparel claim they’re just “celebrating natural beauty” with their new mannequins.

I’m all for American Apparel celebrating natural beauty, and all, but I think this may be a bit much. I have two sons, 13 and 11. I don’t need them “celebrating natural beauty.” Mmmkay?

American Apparel has put these new ad campaigns up everywhere from billboards to bus stops. The new ads show a pale mannequin wearing see-through lingerie, exposing nipples and pubic hair.

Gothamist first spotted them in the label’s Lower East Side store: a row of three mannequins with unmistakeable bushes. According to the report, people on the street are straight up laughing at them, and since the store’s salespeople didn’ t seem to be all that informed about their origins or intention, we reached out to the company for comment:

“American Apparel is a company that celebrates natural beauty, and the Lower East Side Valentine’s Day window continues that celebration,” a rep told us. “We created it to invite passerbys to explore the idea of what is ‘sexy’ and consider their comfort with the natural female form. This is the same idea behind our advertisements which avoid many of the photoshopped and airbrushed standards of the fashion industry. So far we have received positive feedback from those that have commented and we’re looking forward to hearing more points of view.”

I don’t think these ads are necessary. Am I a prude? What do you think?
