Myla Dalbesio makes history as Calvin Klein’s first size 10 model! ‘Bout time!

Model Myla Dalbesio has made history by being Calvin Klein’s first size-10 model!

The 27-year-old Wisconsin native is considered plus-size by industry standards. While most models are size zero-two, and plus size is considered anything 12 and over, Myla lands somewhere in the middle.

‘It’s kind of confusing because I’m a bigger girl,’ Myla, who stands at 5ft 11in, told Elle. ‘I’m not the biggest girl on the market but I’m definitely bigger than all the girls [Calvin Klein] has ever worked with, so that is really intimidating.’

Myla, who describes her body type as ‘in the middle,’ looks stunning in the ‘Perfectly Fit’ campaign, flaunting her curves in a black bra, her brunette hair slicked back.

She says the ad, which also features the more ‘straight-sized’ Jourdan Dunn, Ji Hye Park, Amanda Wellsh and Lara Stone, is revolutionary in that it doesn’t address that fact that she is the lone ‘plus-size’ model in the group.

‘I’m not skinny enough to be with the skinny girls and I’m not large enough to be with the large girls , and I haven’t been able to find my place,’ she explained. As such, ‘this [campaign] was such a great feeling.’

And yet some people have taken to Twitter in outrage that she could even be considered a ‘bigger’ girl.

‘Genuine WTF moment,’ one critic wrote in a tweet directed at Elle. ‘This woman is described as “plus-size” and “a bigger girl”. Aaaraagahagaagahahagahahag’.

Another person said: ‘I wouldn’t consider her a plus size model. Her height and her muscular tone should not categorize as a “big girl.”‘ And a third commented angrily: ‘How is that plus size??’

Despite the outcry, which seems to be directed at Elle rather than Calvin Klein, Myla says landing the campaign has made her hopeful that size is becoming less of an issue in the fashion industry.
I’m not the biggest girl on the market but I’m definitely bigger than anyone Calvin Klein has ever worked with

‘They released me in this campaign with everyone else; there’s no distinction. It’s not a separate section for plus-size girls.’

Isn’t it absolutely crazy that we live in a world that considers HER to be big? She is absolutely gorgeous – and no part of her is big!

We’re proud of Calvin Klein for using a REAL women for their ads! Let’s hope the rest of the designers follow suit!

Urban Outfitters sinks to an all-new low.

Urban Outfitters has sunk to a disgusting new low, by offering a Kent State University sweatshirt which appears to be splattered with blood, for $129.

The disgusting sweatshirt is in reference to the 1970 killing of four students protesting the Vietnam War by the Army National Guard at the Ohio school.

As of early this morning, the Urban Outfitters website said the item was sold out. The store did not respond to The Huffington Post’s request for comment.

Officials at Kent State expressed their outrage over the item.

“We take great offense to a company using our pain for their publicity and profit,” read a Kent State University statement posted on Monday. “This item is beyond poor taste and trivializes a loss of life that still hurts the Kent State community today.”

Urban Outfitters posted an apology to Twitter around 10 a.m. EST Monday, saying that it “was never our intention to allude to the tragic events that took place at Kent State in 1970 and we are extremely saddened that this item was perceived as such.”

Here is Urban Outfitter’s apology: “Urban Outfitters sincerely apologizes for any offense our Vintage Kent State Sweatshirt may have caused. It was never our intention to allude to the tragic events that took place at Kent State in 1970 and we are extremely saddened that this item was perceived as such. The one-of-a-kind item was purchased as part of our sun-faded vintage collection. There is no blood on this shirt nor has this item been altered in any way. The red stains are discoloration from the original shade of the shirt and the holes are from natural wear and fray. Again, we deeply regret that this item was perceived negatively and we have removed it immediately from our website to avoid further upset.”

God save us all, Miley Cyrus made her Fashion Week debut this week.

Miley Cyrus collaborated with designer Jeremy Scott for a new collection. It’s as bad as you’d imagine (in my ever-so-humble opinion).

Scott, who designs for Moschino and his own line, designed clothes and accessories alongside the controversial singer. Miley named her accessories “Dirty Hippie,” and I find that awfully appropriate, don’t you?

Ok serious question. Do you think there’s something really wrong with Miley? I’m worried.

Scott’s collection looked like a ’70s kaleidoscope of color with mixed floral prints and patchwork. There was also an effortless surfer vibe on display as male models sported shoulder-length, tousled blonde hair.

Cyrus’ collection only added to the chaos — the celeb accessorized Scott’s looks with EDM-inspired beaded jewelry including bracelets, necklaces and headpieces complete with marijuana leaves and furry pom-poms. Time magazine called Cyrus’ pieces a “high-DIY-project.” The Guardian said her accessories looked “like they’re made of kids’ toys.”

The jewelry collection, alongside sculptures and other pieces, will be on display at V Magazine’s office in New York City. Cyrus said her work was inspired from her fans, her tour, and turning what she called “shitty” moments from 2014 into something positive.

Take a look at the outrageous collection below.

Kate Upton strips down for new Sam Edelman campaign!

Kate Upton is back for the third consecutive campaign as the face of Sam Edelman’s fall line.

The 22-year-old Sports Illustrated model is photographed lying in bed, naked, holding a gorgeous burgundy shoe from the new collection.

‘This campaign reveals Kate in an intimate one-on-one moment,’ footwear designer Sam Edelman told WWD.

‘With the launch of our apparel line this season, we can dress her from toe to head but sometimes all she wants are her Sams.’

Photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott shot Miss Upton in London on a private set, and Trey Laird directed the campaign.

Famous for his platform heels, Mr Edelman said he chose Miss Upton, who recently starred alongside Cameron Diaz in The Other Woman, because she ‘epitomizes the classic American Beauty and yet she’s approachable.

‘And I love that she’s curvy. I also love that she and I share the same passion for horses,’ he admitted.

The designer’s decision to collaborate with Miss Upton was apparently instigated when he spotted the former horseback riding champion wearing Edelman’s equestrian-style boots.

Mr Edelman is a regular on the Florida horse circuit with his wife, Libby, and the couple have a world-class equestrian stable that houses up to 40 prize-winning horses on their 65-acre Connecticut land.

The shoe designer has a theory on what it is about stilettos women love so much.

‘Shoes create a chemical reaction in women…especially heels,’ said the 61-year-old, who chose blonde bombshell Kate Upton to star in his latest campaign.

‘Whenever I ask a woman about Sam Edelman [heels], she automatically smiles and tells me the story of her favorite pair. I’ve found this to be true over and over again. Women can’t help loving shoes and I can’t help loving to make them smile,’ he told MailOnline.
