Forgetting Sarah Marshall

screenshot001.jpg

Jocelyn and I went to see the hilarious new Judd Apatow film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and besides laughing until we cried we noticed how great their makeup looked. I thought Mila Kunis looked drop dead gorgeous they played up her eyes with heavier mascara and liner and the perfect golden eyeshadow color.

If you want to copy her golden goddess color, a great shade for spring and summer check out some of these:

shu uemura Rebirth Collection Pressed Eye Shadow

Upon my arrival to my hotel on my fab NYC Beauty Editor trip I was treated with a gift bag from Shu Uemura filled with great products. One of my favorite is the Rebirth Collection eye shadows from shu uemura, the eye shadow goes on silky smooth and the colors are beautiful. When I first saw the shadows I wondered how well they would blend and look on my eyes. Even though the shadows are vivid you can have a hint of color with one swipe or layer for a more dramatic look. The shades look amazing on and the color stays true throughout the day.

Update by Erin:

I just tried the shu uemura  Tri-Color pencil and I love it! It makes it easy to add a touch of vibrant color to your everyday look.  The colors go on warm and bright and open my eye up without ever looking too heavy, it smooths on so easy with the crayon style applicator. This fun little pencil has three colored tips that snap into each other and can be used as eyeliner or eyeshadow.  They go on smooth and the small size was great to carry in my purse and apply after work before meeting friends!

What it is:
A colorful, stacked eyeliner and shadowing pencil from shu uemura made up of three coordinating shades.

What it does:
These unique, connectable three-in-one eye pencils have a soft, creamy texture which adheres extremely well on the skin. The convenience of three beautiful shades in one enables you to draw multiple colors onto your eye area and create looks without boundaries.

What else you need to know:
Use the pencils as a liner, or blend on the entire eyelid as an eyeshadow. They may also be used as an eyeshadow base for a more intense look. The limited-edition pencils come in shades Aqua Flow (cool tones of green and blue) and Energy Flow (warm tones of yellow and peach).

Hot Right Now: Yellow Eye Shadow

GET THE LOOK: “Bright primary colors are so in for clothes right now, but you should diffuse them for your makeup,” advises makeup artist Natalie DiStefano of the Rita Hazan Salon in NYC. “Easter yellow is too full force, distracting and unflattering,” says DiStefano, who recommends hues with shimmer to dilute the shade.

INSIDER TRICK: One word: Cream. “Straight yellow powder can look chalky, so look for a cream shadow you can easily spread and control,” adds DiStefano.
