New from Urban Decay Ink for Eyes

urban-decay.jpg

I am a sucker for cream eyeliner, the great look of liquid but a little easier to use for people without perfect precision like myself. Can’t wait to try the new Ink for Eyes from Urban Decay, I am in love  with the Loaded and Pyrotechnics colors.

Urban Decay Ink for Eyes
What it is:
A cream eye liner housed in a long, sexy case—complete with mirror, brush, and smudger.

What it does:
It’s everything you want in a cream eye liner: more precision than a pencil but more forgiving than a liquid. This ultra-creamy, paraben-free formula offers more control, play time, and buildable coverage. Create razor-sharp lines or smoky bedroom eyes with the double-ended angled liner brush and smudger. The secret ingredient? Nylon 12, a unique ingredient that decreases drag, creates a flawless application experience by eliminating skips or smears and also softening and absorbing excess oil. This creamy eye liner is available in a wide variety of sexy shades that stay put all day long.

What else you need to know:
Decorated with a hand-illustrated peacock, the long, lean case (complete with mirror!) is ideal for applying color with the angled liner brush.

Curls are the must have hairstyle for fall and they’ve been spotted everywhere from soft cascading waves, to halos of curls, powerful amplified shapes, and even loose natural waves circa the 1940s.  Achieve these hot looks and protect your hair color with CurlWave Styling Cream from COLURE True Color Care, $25.00. All of COLURE’s products are free of parabens, sulfates, alcohol, perfumes, dyes and other chemicals that could possibly strip color.

I’ve tried this cream, and I love it. My hair bounces from straight to curly all the time, and usually falls somewhere in between, a big ol’ hot mess. This product helped define my curls, and give them bounce!

kmmasacara.jpg

Speaking of stripping, forget those false eyelash strips! It’s all about long and natural eyelashes courtesy of Kiss Me Mascara, the original macara that creates tiny-water resistant tubes around lashes that cannot clump, flake, smear or run $24.95.

Once you’ve got your hair and lashes covered be sure and experiment with the perennially popular red lip! From subtle to sassy, DeVine Goddess Lipstick by Napoleon Perdis empowers women with sophisticated and chic colors.  Transcend to timeless beauty with DeVine Godess true red called “Eros” $22.95.  It’s a favorite of celebs like 90210’s AnnaLynne McCord.

Finish with a mani and pedi featuring the beautiful selection of colors from O.P.I.’s new Spain Collection, $8.95 each.  The new collection features a range of red, purple, and other dark shades including Barefoot in Barcelona, Can You Tapas This? Give Me Moor!, Pink Flamenco, No Spain No Gain, Ate Berries in the Canaries and more. Plantet Beauty’s favorite pik from the collection is Here Today…Aragon Tomorrow, a dark moss colored green shade with a light shimmer!

This Month’s Best Beauty Buys, by Marie Claire!

0809-best-beauty-4-de.jpg

SPACE FACE
I’m hooked on the ethereal, soft-focus finish of La Mer Treatment Powder Foundation, $90. Fittingly, its base ingredient is Airgel, a literally weightless material used by NASA.

0809-best-beauty-6-de.jpg

GOLDEN GIRLS
To soften the edgiest makeup looks, Lancome’s Aaron De May cleverly borrows a stroke from Renaissance painters, highlighting faces with gold—on cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, Cupid’s bow, or center of eyelids (my personal fave). Best gilty pleasures: Lancôme Poudre Liberté Highlighting Powder, $40, Sensai The Lipstick by Kanebo, $55, and Avon Anew Ultimate Age Repair Gold Emulsion, $36.

DOUBLE HEADER
Ouidad Double Detangler, $24, is designed to gently unfurl ringlets. But I found it also effortlessly rakes deep conditioner through my long straight hair, pre-swim, making it my new beach-bag staple.

0809-best-beauty-2-de.jpg

RED EYE
Runway Dorothy-worthy ruby eyeshadow, sparkling up models’ lids at Prada.
Reality Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Red Iron mascara, $28, and palette, $58, serving up vibrant yet flattering crimson shades that most of us can pull off (seriously). The exception: pale blondes (you’ll want to avoid the albino bunny look).

0809-best-beauty-1-de.jpg

THE BIG APPLES
My beauty crutch: heaps of blush. But fall’s high-drama eyes and shockingly bold lips demand a lighter touch. For a featherweight fix, Sonia Kashuk Super Sheer Liquid Tint, $9.99, serves up just the right dewy dose.

Amy Adams’ Beauty Look from “Julie & Julia” Premiere

amyadamscelebutopia3.jpg

From COVERGIRL’S Celebrity Makeup Artist Molly R. Stern:

“It always seems that inspiration ends up coming from the dress. Last night Amy wore a gorgeous full length Carolina Herrera gown with a charcoal and white pattern speckled with gold beading. So I borrowed from that exquisite color palette.”

“We went for a steel and copper smoky lid, gorgeous full lashes, a peachy cheek and a golden amber lip.”

Magazine

Face
I first started by prepping her skin with a refreshing spray of Jurlique rose water balancing mist. And then moisturized her skin with La Mer’s moisturizing lotion

Next I based her skin sparingly with the new Cle de peau cream foundation. Then I warmed up her cheeks with the gorgeous new COVERGIRL Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach.

Eyes
For her eye, I based the lid with a combination of Shu Uemura’s cream eye shadow in P taupe, and Vincent Longo’s silky orange liquid eyeshadow

Over that I blended the new NARS shadows in Brumes.

Under her eye I smudged COVERGIRL Exact Eyelights Eyeliner in Radiant Sapphire in the outer corner and on the inner corner I dabbed a smidge of Shu Uemura pressed eye shadow in NME gold 350.

On her lashes I coated them with COVERGIRL Exact Eyelights Mascara in Black Sapphire.

Lips
To finish off the look I tinted her lips with COVERGIRL Outlast Lipstain in Cinnamon Smile with a dab of YSL golden gloss over top.
