Mascara Review: 2 to SKIP – 1 to KEEP!

I was at the store last weekend, where I saw there was a sale on Rimmel London mascaras. Buy one get one free! Who could pass that up? Not me! So I grabbed two mascaras that I thought I’d like to try.

So I sit down, put all my other makeup on (foundation, eyeshadow, etc.) and I pull out Max Volume Flash, my new mascara. I pull the wand out of the tube – and immediately I HATE IT. It pulled out a TON of mascara, and the brush was all gooped up with black mascara. I scraped it off, and tried to put it on, and I swear I hated it in two strokes. It’s awful. It doesn’t do a darn thing that it says it will. I’ve tried a lot of mascaras, and this one might be one of the worst. Look at that packaging! 14X volume! Fast – no mess lashes! Collagen and Keratin enriched! Their biggest brush ever! Psht. No good. I put the lid back on – and tossed it in the trash.

Then I decide to open the next mascara I bought, Glam’Eyes. I should have known I wouldn’t like it just by looking at the wand. I hate small brushes. I like a nice – thick brush. But I decided to try it anyway, and I didn’t like it at all. Again, everything it promises on the packaging is complete BS. Talk about false advertising! It’s practically the same exact mascara as Max Volume Flash – just in a different tube. Definitely NOT worth my money, and I won’t be trying any more Rimmel mascaras any time soon. I know Erin has tried one that she likes – but I’d definitely tell you guys to skip these two. They’re no good.

So I can’t leave you with all bad news, can I? How about 1 mascara I think you SHOULD try?

I’m absolutely in love with L’Oreal’s Millions of Lashes! I have looooong struggled with drugstore mascaras, because in my opinion, they can’t stand up to some of the more expensive versions like Diorshow. Aaaand then I tried L’Oreal’s Voluminous Million Lashes. It was love at first stroke.

I adore this mascara. For only $8, you’re getting what you could get for $30+ on a more expensive brand. It goes on smoothly, it isn’t clumpy, the brush is fantastic, it doesn’t flake, it actually DOES make your lashes look longer and fuller. In my opinion, it’s one of the few drugstore mascaras that actually live up to the hype. If you’re looking for a new mascara to try – try this guy. You won’t be sorry!

Lily Collins opens up about her giant eyebrows in the new ‘Seventeen’

Lily Collins is the new ‘Snow White’. I should say the other Snow White. Kirsten Stewart is playing Snow White in another, darker film. Lily plays ‘Snow White’ in a (pretty horrible looking) take on Snow White in ‘Mirror, Mirror’, which also stars Julia Roberts. Watch the trailer below!

Lily is the daughter of music legend Phil Collins, and briefly dated Taylor Lautner while filming their (horrible) movie, ‘Abduction’. She is 23-years-old, even though she looks 16!

In the interview, she opens up about those giant eyebrows she’s rockin!

On her eyebrows: “It used to bother me – having bigger, fuller brows. I even plucked them once so I’d fit in, but I hated them and couldn’t wait for them to grow back. Now I embrace them. I’ve realized the quirky things that make you different are what make you beautiful.”

On her last name: “My last name may have opened doors, but I have to keep them open.”

On her celeb crush: “It’s weird to have celebrity crushes now because I could actually meet them or work with them! When I was younger, it was definitely Leonardo DiCaprio in Titanic. I had pictures of him and I had ‘NSYNC posted. I had the biggest crush on Justin Timberlake!”

Love advice: “My advice for girls who are waiting for their Prince Charming is to be open for anything. Be open to new experiences, be open to the idea that it may take longer than you want, but if you’re open to meeting new people and new adventures, then love will come along.”

What do you think about her eyebrows? I’m all for a fuller brow, but those are a wild! What do you think?

Gorgeous Dior Shadow! 3 Couleurs Smoky Ready-To-Wear Smoky Eyes Palette

3 Couleurs Smoky Ready-To-Wear Smoky Eyes Palette is an eye shadow duo and eye shadow base in an innovative sliding palette.

This three-color eye shadow harmony helps you create catwalk smoky eyes in three easy steps. The slide-out palette features an extremely blendable base that perfectly preps and colors the eyelid, while the eye shadows offer different effects: matte for a natural ready-to-wear style or shiny for a glamorous, couture style.

I tried this last night – and took a picture of it before I dove in (what’s better than virgin eye shadow?)! I love the color combination of this trio. The three colors go beautifully together. I love the gold shimmer color. Makes for an awesome combination!

Urban Decay wants you to get naked!

When Urban Decay first released its Naked Palette two years ago, people lost their damn minds. The 12-shade eyeshadow palette was the brand’s take on the neutral look and quickly became the subject of tons of tweets, innumerable video tutorials, and a raging resale business on eBay. People looking to purchase it found quite often that stores had sold out, and shoppers were put on mile-long waiting lists. Well, get ready for the frenzy to start all over again, because here comes Naked2.

The new collection of nudes centers around a taupe color palette, in contrast to the original’s bronze tones. It features 12 shades, five of them never before seen, housed in a sleek tin. It also includes a double-ended shadow brush and a mini tube of Naked Lip Junkie Lipgloss. If you want to get your nude on, you better move quickly: Naked2 just launched this week and the first shipment is already sold out. Get on that waiting list now before you miss out!

I would love to try this! Didn’t try the first one? Buy it below!
