MODERN MUSE LE ROUGE
A NEW FRAGRANCE BY ESTÉE LAUDER
Be Daring. Be An Inspiration.
Estée Lauder unveils a daring new facet of modern femininity – Modern Muse Le Rouge, a new fragrance
inspired by the glamorous, more provocative side of a Modern Muse. Le Rouge reflects the woman who is
confident and sexy. She never goes unnoticed. It’s all about her signature color of red – which embodies her
style, attitude and undeniably powerful effect.
The Le Rouge Muse dares to inspire. She commands a reaction with her boldness, timeless glamour and
enviable confidence. Her style and presence always make an impression. She is bold, daring and sexy; she’s a
provocative inspiration to others.
A Fruity Floral Oriental scent, Modern Muse Le Rouge is a sexy contrast of rich roses awakened by ripe fruits
with a velvet cream accord that captures the drama of this muse’s personality. The innovative “dualimpression”
fragrance structure allows women to experience the fragrance through two contrasting accords:
Ripened Roses Accord: This facet of the fragrance captures the undeniable boldness of the Le Rouge
woman and the color. Juicy fruitiness of Bourgeon de Cassis and Raspberry, contrasted with vibrant
Pink Pepper and Saffron blends with the floral richness of Bulgarian Rose and the petally freshness of
Velvet Cream Accord: Her sexy, provocative sense of style and dramatic presence are expressed
through an addictive blend of full-bodied Madagascar Vanilla and the textural muskiness of Ambrette,
refined with earthy, seductive Vetiver and Patchouli – and freshened with the lush femininity of
Magnolia Flower and Jasmine.
“It was not just about capturing the scent of red, it was about capturing a state of mind, a vibrant, dramatic
attitude,” says Karyn Khoury, Senior Vice President, Corporate Fragrance Development Worldwide, The Estée
Lauder Companies. “This woman inspires others through her unwavering confidence, glamour and
sophistication. She lives her life to be noticed – and every ingredient in this scent was carefully selected to

Since her breakout role in the 2001 film Training Day, Eva Mendes has reliably ranked amongst Hollywood’s most beautiful actresses. But the red carpet regular admits that getting comfortable with seeing herself on camera took time. “I can take a funky photo,” laughs the Cuban-American stunner, whose film work has earned her countless magazine covers and plenty of time on the premiere circuit. “I have an angular face and I kind of had to learn which angles were which, and how I could work that into a scene,” she continues.
It’s probably what was attractive to me about becoming an actress—the art of transformation.
Part of that learning process stemmed from Mendes’ early love affair with the power of change. “I’ve always loved how I could transform myself by just highlighting a certain area and playing down another area. It’s probably what was attractive to me about becoming an actress—the art of transformation.” Mendes is a pro at getting into character for a new role, and has shaved her eyebrows and even gone blonde to bring a certain level of authenticity to her projects. (“I’m an awful blonde!” she insists). It’s a skill that has served the 41-year-old well as she undergoes the personal transformation of becoming a new mom. “My baby just started sleeping through the night so I have little more time for my beauty ritual,” she reveals of her daily routine that includes our New Dimension Shape + Fill Expert Serum and New Dimension Expert Tape, new-to-market skincare products that firm, tone and tighten the look of skin for enhanced visible definition, density—and confidence-induced perspective. “My face is changing,” admits Mendes. “And I want to be able to embrace that process.” Here, the products’ ambassador provides her own angle on the important stuff—that being deep dish pizza and the luxury of sleeping in.

INTRODUCING…. COURRÈGES ESTÉE LAUDER COLLECTION
Two innovative brands collaborate to create a “pop-timistic” limited edition makeup collection, featuring zero gravity shades that float on lips, eyes and face Cosmonauts, satellites, missiles to the moon. Unprecedented advancement and achievement underwrote the inaugural period of intergalactic exploration that came to be known as the Space Age of the early-1960s. When a culture of futurism subsequently consumed the era, there were two names firmly in the vanguard: Estée Lauder and André Courrèges. She, a beauty industry innovator whose “every woman can be beautiful” mantra was ahead of its time; he, a fashion force whose avant-garde aesthetic broke all the style rules by injecting an air of playfulness, movement, and egalitarianism into every one of his haute couture collections.
Visionaries both, their brands have now joined together to pioneer a new interpretation of color. Introducing Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection: a limited edition collection of zero-gravity shades that draws on a shared point of view on color, beauty and the resolution to never stop moving forward.
An American beauty and business icon, Estée dedicated her life to shaking up the beauty universe with her skincare formulation savvy and her three-minute makeup applications. Firmly established in the department stores of New York, she introduced her coveted lineup of high-performance products to the women of Paris in 1966 as the South-West of France-born Courrèges was making his French runway debut and opening his own Couture House in 1961.
Both arrived with a seismic bang.
An engineer by trade who logged time with legendary Spanish fashion designer Cristobal Balenciaga, Courrèges presented a tailored offering of little dresses and groundbreaking tunic pantsuits in a palette of lunar white, figuratively wiping clean the fashion slate. His simple silhouettes, often reimagined with technologically-charged fabrication techniques—second-skin knits, and plasticine vinyls wrought with transparency—helped sell his revolution, both at home and abroad. His message: “Courrèges is tomorrow, begun today,” continues to guide the couture house that bears his name.
Courrèges Estée Lauder Collection is a 13-piece limited edition line that marries the floating-on-air feeling of an embellished Courrèges mini dress, and the punched-up precision of Estée Lauder’s progressive product design, seen through the Courrèges lens. The formulations were designed to be surprising in their lightness, in their sensorial delivery, their translucency, reflectivity, and in their pop-y palette. They are an invitation to have fun with color, texture and special effects while defying the confines of nostalgia by creating a look that is wholly of today.
