Emma is promoting her new movie The Bling Ring, which I cannot WAIT to see! It’s a new movie by Sofia Coppola. Looks amazing. (Trailer after the jump.

The interview is long – and really interesting!

What is the first movie you remember seeing?
Pretty Woman. I was 7, which was way, way too young. That was when I started loving Julia Roberts and American movies. As a child, I loved being onstage. I loved singing, I loved the lights, I loved the adrenaline. I even loved learning lines. I was completely obsessive. A friend of my mother’s found a tape of me auditioning for Hermione. I wanted to get really, really good at my lines. There was reel after reel, take after take, of me doing the same thing over and over again.

Did you ever feel the pressure of having to be a shining example to young girls worldwide?
I was always a very serious child. I remember being 13 and girls in my class saying, “So-and-so is going to kiss so-and-so on the school fields.” I said, “That’s stupid. They’re too young for it to matter—he doesn’t love her, and that’s just a waste of time.” It’s amazing that I had any friends! [Laughs] So I was the right child to get cast: I loved the responsibility.

Did you have your first kiss on camera?
Thankfully, no. I’ve always been fascinated by Elizabeth Taylor, and I had read that her first kiss happened on a film set, which actually made me a little sad. You need to have normal experiences of your own. I’ve never wanted to grow up too fast: I wanted to wear a sports bra until I was 22! The allure of being sexy never really held any excitement for me. I’ve never been in a terrible rush to be seen as a woman.

Emma Watson is all grown up. The Harry Potter child actress has changed her image for her upcoming movie ‘The Bling Ring,’ and is loving her new transformation.

The 22-year-old actress is seen on this month’s cover of Britain’s GQ Magazine wearing a dress similar to Julia Roberts’ famous Pretty Woman cut-out dress.

On the cover, Emma is dressed as her character Nikki from the film. Here’s more from GQ:

Emma on playing an “amoral” character like Nikki:

“When I read the script and I realized that essentially it was a meditation on fame and what it’s become to our society, I had to do it. The character is everything that I felt strongly against — she’s superficial, materialistic, vain, amoral. She’s all of these things and I realized that I hated her. How do you play someone you hate? But I found it really interesting and it gave me a whole new insight into what my job or my role as an actress could be.”

Emma plays the leading role in the Sofia Coppola-directed movie about the real life Bling Ring or The Hollywood Hills Burglar Bunch as they were known, who were arrested in 2009 for a string of break-ins at the homes of stars including Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton.

She admits she’s taking a wide range of movie roles so she doesn’t get pigeonholed:

“I was open-minded about doing anything but the one thing I didn’t want to do was get myself into a corset because I was worried I would never get out again. This has been a really big departure for me. It’s a really big character. That’s so exciting for me because it meant I was really acting.”

Emma Watson graces the October cover of Glamour Magazine. The 22-year-old actress has never looked better!

The ‘Harry Potter’ actress says she’s finally come into her own as an actress, thanks to her leading role in the upcoming movie ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’.

“Making this movie was so pivotal for me because I realized I do really want to be an actress, which wasn’t something I fully knew, since ‘Harry Potter’ was such a singular experience,” Watson told the magazine.

After Emma finished filming ‘Harry Potter’, she dramatically cut off her long hair into a short pixie cut. The move shocked most of her fans. “The majority of the boys around me were like, “Why did you do that? That’s such an error,” Watson said. And I was like, “Well, honestly, I don’t really care what you think!”

Emma also opened up about her plans to return to college, after deciding to take a break in 2011. ”The entertainment industry is pretty nuts, and having had that experience outside of it and going to university has really made a big difference,” the actress said. “It’s important to me to feel like I have my own life.”

While Watson tries to keep her Providence experience out of the spotlight, she says she has a much harder time doing the same for her love life, recalling when papz caught her locking lips with her beau Will Adamwicz at Coachella in April.

“It’s difficult on my dating life, because anyone I get photographed with is automatically my boyfriend,” she explained. “So it just makes it look as if I’ve had, like, 6,000 boyfriends!”

Emma is in New York right now, where she’s filming Darren Aronofsky’s upcoming biblical saga ‘Noah’. Her new movie, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’ opens on September 21.

Emma Watson graces the New York Times “T Style Women’s Fashion Fall 2012″ issue, and inside she gives a pretty lengthy interview. I think the pictures are ok…. I don’t particularly care for the styling. Her makeup and clothes are all pretty ‘meh’.

Anyway, Emma is promoting her new movie, ‘The Perks of Being a Wallflower’, which looks decent…ish.

Her American accent: “My grandma said — when I was really young and I’d sing along to the radio — why do you sing in an American accent? I guess it was because a lot of the music I was listening to had American vocalists. And that was something [m director Steve Chbosky] said to me as well: try singing the lines in an American accent. That kind of opened me up. Then I worked with a dialogue coach and I just put in the time to really, really listen and just go over it and over it and over it until I could do it without thinking about it too hard. And I just knew it was really important.”

Why hasn’t she done more films before now? “I think at first I didn’t because I was always either studying or filming, I didn’t have time to go off and do other films or other things to sort of show people that, Oh, she is not just Hermione, she is an actress and she can go and do these other parts and roles. . . . I didn’t, because I was so focused on, you know, on my GCSEs and on my AS and on my A-levels and then getting in to university and then whatever, I didn’t really have time to do any of that.”

How did she enjoy Brown University? “My first two years at Brown weren’t easy, not because I was bullied or because anyone gave me a particularly hard time, but just because, you know, without the collegiate system . . . and at Brown everyone does completely different things and very much chooses their own path, which is great, but it’s also much more difficult, too. You’re not with a group of people all the time at one time.”

Parental advice: “Yeah, I think I’ve been lucky in that neither of my parents got swept up in it, it wasn’t something they wanted for me, it wasn’t something that they were overawed by. They gave me the best advice they could, and I think they gave me very good advice. But my mum particularly said, ‘Right, you’re going to go into these interviews and they’re going to ask you anything they feel like asking you, and every time they ask you a question, think about whether you’d be comfortable discussing it with a stranger.’ ”

Finding her career on the upswing: “I’m not really sure how I’ve managed to do it.” But then she got a little more real: “I guess weirdly in my head I knew what I wanted, I didn’t know how it would or if it would ever happen. But before ‘Bling Ring,’ I said I’d really wanted to meet Sofia Coppola and — this is before I knew that she had a film in mind — ended up meeting her. And Darren was someone who actually I met a good year ago. And then I’m doing a film with Guillermo [del Toro] next summer, and I went to him and said Warner Brothers have given me the script for ‘Beauty and the Beast,’ but the only way I’d really want to do it is if you did it. And then miraculously he said, ‘Oh, funnily enough ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is my favorite fairy tale, I can’t let anyone else do this, I’ll start putting a team together.’ ”

Fame: Nowadays, while she can walk around fairly happily in quiet areas of London or New York, there are plenty of other places that are off-limits: “If I went to somewhere busy, I wouldn’t last very long. I can’t go to a museum, I’ll last 10 or 15 minutes in a museum. The problem is that when one person asks for a photograph, then someone sees a flash goes off, then everyone else sort of . . . it’s sort of like a domino effect. And then very quickly the situation starts to get out of control to a point where I can’t manage it on my own.”
