Just in time for Summer, Dove Clear Tone!

I had the chance to sample Dove’s Clear Tone Anti-Perspirant/Deodorant, and couldn’t wait to see the results. As the warmer weather arrives it’s time to go sleeveless again. In the summer I love to add a little color with tank tops and sundresses, but I am one of 32 million women in the U.S. who experiences red bumps and dark marks under their arms. I started using Dove Clear Tone Skin two weeks ago and my underarms have made a dramatic change! The skin is softer and the little razor bumps and dark shadows are gone. I think I might need to celebrate with some new summer tops!

So how does it work? Clear Tone is the only deodorant in the U.S. designed to visibly reduce the red and dark marks often associated with dry skin and the effects of shaving. It’s a restorative moisturizing deodorant that keeps you dry. Made with calendula, sunflower seed extracts and Dove’s patented moisturizing ingredients, Dove Clear Tone works by helping to speed up the natural skin renewal process.

And of course the product still provides all of the benefits women love about Dove Deodorant such as 24-hour odor and wetness protection—which also comes in handy in the warmer weather!—and even a clinical protection variant that provides 24-hour odor and wetness protection with the maximum level of active ingredient and Dove ¼ moisturizers to care for skin.

Introducing Dove’s “Ad Makeover” Campaign!

I’ve always loved that Dove uses “Real Women” in their campaign, something they started in 2004. Dove has for years longed to boost women’s self-esteem, while giving them great products.

The idea is “to make more women feel beautiful every day by widening stereotypical views of beauty.”

Now, with Dove’s “The Ad Makeover,” the brand is going further to make women feel beautiful: combatting negative advertising.

Specifically, Dove is setting its sights on all those small but sneaky ads on the side of your screen that shout-out to your “jelly rolls” or “love handles” or “muffin tops” (and sometimes even animate them — that’s the worst). Through Dove Australia’s “The Ad Makeover,” created by Ogilvy, Aussie women can go online and create alternative, feel-good ads instead. Instead of targeting your insecurities, the messages include “The perfect bum is the one you’re sitting on,” for example, or “When it comes to your body, love the one you’re with.”

Our favorite: “Think of your cups as half full.”

The result? You and other women will see colorful, positive ads along the side of your profiles instead. The push to change the way we talk about our bodies — and in this case, the way our bodies are talked about — is something we’re totally on board with. Now if only Dove could bring the Facebook campaign to U.S. soil ASAP…

She looks amazing, I can’t wait to see the movie!

Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend styled Jennifer Lawrence’s hair tonight for The Hunger Games premiere in LA. See below for steps from Mark that women can follow to create this long-lasting style at home.

- “I started by applying a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse to Jennifer’s damp hair and blow dried with a large round brush.
- Next, I took 3-inch sections of hair and sprayed Dove Style+Care Thermal Replenishment Spray on the hair before wrapping it around a 1-inch curling iron.
- -Then, I sprayed Sally Hershberger Genius Spray Wax all over to give her hair second-day texture. I took two Jennifer Behr headbands and braided them into her hair, and then pinned the braid into a bun. I always spray Dove Refresh+Care Invigorating Dry Shampoo on my Bobby pins for extra hold.
- I finished by spraying Dove Style+Care Extra Hold Hairspray all over to keep every hair in place all night.”

Get the Look: Kristen Wiig’s Big, Sexy Curls at the 2012 Oscars

Kristen looked amazing last night!

At the 84th annual Academy Awards, Kristen Wiig, a first-time nominee for “Original Screenplay” for Bridesmaids, stole the style spotlight. Below, Dove Celebrity Stylist Mark Townsend shares his tips for women looking to achieve her red carpet look at home. Mark used products from the NEW Dove Style+Care collection that nourish and protect hair for long-lasting style. The products are officially available nationwide March 1st.

Here is how to get Kristen’s textured waves:

“I was in love with Kristen’s J. Mendel dress as soon as I saw it; I was so inspired by the silhouette and color. We wanted Kristen’s hair to be full with voluminous waves and have an edgy and sexy texture”

  • - “I started by applying a large dollop of Dove Style+Care Nourishing Curls Whipped Cream Mousse and blow dried the hair with a round brush.
  • - I then took 3-inch sections of hair and sprayed each section with Dove Style+Care Thermal Replenishment Spray and then wrapped the hair around a 1 1/2 inch FHI Heat curling iron.
  • - When all of her hair had been curled, I took a small amount of Dove Style+Care Frizz-Free Shine Cream-Serum in my hands and rubbed them together and then I raked the product through the hair to break up the curls and give the hair shine and definition. I’m beyond obsessed with this product. It gives you the nourishment of a cream and the shine of a serum in one bottle!
  • - I finished her look by spraying Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray all over while scrunching the hair with my fingers; this will ensure that the hair is in place all night and give the hair great sexy waves.”
